Cacio e Pepe
Excellent food - start to finish, the meal was amazing. Get the cacio e pepe.
I love this little neighborhood gem—-
Biggest issue is the noise level—
Even with only a few diners in the restaurant,
it is difficult to hear your dinner partner from
across the table. It would be great if they could
install some sort if acoustics.
Otherwise, as always, a wonderful dining experience!
Food was delicious, servers were so nice and attentive.
Get the Cacio e Pepe if you've never had it; very well done dish.
Loved it! I made reservations here because of the dish that comes out in the big cheese of wheel. The reservation process was easy, we didn't have to wait for our table at all and was given in option of preferred table. The waitresses were very nice! The only thing is that it was very hot but that could be because of the small/crowded space. Also, we noticed that it took a very long time for orders to be taken and for bills to be given. We actually witnessed somebody walk out on their bill after trying to get a waitresses attention for some time. So, I suggest ordering your whole mean (drinks & food) together. Other than that, the restaurant was great!
Great restaurant! Excellent food, great service. Highly recommend their signature dish served out of a cheese wheel!
We have been here MANY times.. our family loves this restaurant. This last visit the server was very inattentive and seemed annoyed by us rather than accommodating.
We asked at reservation to be seated at top level, as we Walked up to be seated they sat the last table in that section. We sat outside to enjoy the evening, and were ignored. Hoping to go back again with a different server and experience.
Our first time there, and we loved it so very much. Everyone was extremely kind and the food was amazing.
Love this restaurant! We’ve been going there for the past 12 years! Food is delicious!
Good food, slightly overpriced for what it is. I wish they let us sit under the awning but it was raining
As always, the food--especially the namesake dish--was excellent. Everyone enjoyed it. Our server was not quite as friendly as the servers usually are. I also wish that the restaurant would accept Mastercard and Visa; at this point, they only take Amex and cash, which is strange.
Food was amazing, and I highly recommend sitting in the back courtyard.
The signature dish of fresh pasta in the cheese wheel is well worth it and the chicken rollatina was the perfect.
I don’t remember the waitress name but she was great. She made great suggestions and the food was delicious
We sat in the outdoor area at the back and loved it. It’s quieter and cooler the further away from the building one is. The chairs are some what rustic but the burrata and summer salad were delicious. The signature pasta plates were wiped clean... so good!
Had a table in the garden. Was a little bit hot (but weather was unusually hot for NYC). Food was great and service was awesome. The house pasta dish is uniquely served in a wheel of cheese.
Restaurant is highly recommended.
The room was extremely hot. There was air conditioning but the front of the restaurant was open so there was really no way to keep the temperature comfortable. Food was good but the Cacio ePepe did not have enough cracked pepper. The servers rushed us by hovering over us to grab our plates before we were ready to finish.
I have been wanting to go to this place since I saw a video on FB. It surpassed all my expectations with the service and food. It's an experience to have for sure if you are in NYC.
Lovely outdoor seating in back patio. Delicious fresh pasta twirled in cheese wheel.
The AC was on but the window / glass doors were open and it was oppressive! It was hard to develop an appetite as it was wsy too hot!
Experience was amazing. The customer service, the food. Waitress was very attentive. Definitely make an appointment
Traveling with family and wanted to experience the famous cheese wheel pasta-it did not disappoint! The server was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Got to sit in the back garden and it was lovely!
Awesome, delicious, perfect italian food
Food is excellent...Service outstanding
Fantastic cacio e pepe
I love Cacio e Pepe and have dined there on numerous occasions. The food is consistently excellent, and the service is terrific. Their namesake dish is one of the few in town for which I will break my low-carb diet; it is delicious, and its table-side prep is fun to watch. My only complaint is that they only take American Express and cash. Having an ATM on premises is helpful, but I would be very grateful if they would take Visa and MasterCard, too.
This was my second time visiting Cacio e Pepe. I brought some friends here after having raved about the cacio e pepe. The food and the experience totally held up. I will be sure to visit again whenever I'm in New York!
Great place for a date, especially if you ask for a seat in the garden under the string lights. The pasta is really good, definitely try the tagliatelle and Cacio e Pepe. However, it was a little bit overhyped/overpriced for simple pasta.
The Cacio e Pepe pasta in the cheese wheel was the best dish we had, and it made for a nice Instagram photo :)
ask to sit in "the garden": its their patio in the back of the restaurant which is slightly hidden.
4/5 instead of 5/5 because the heat outdoors was a bit too much, and they lacked any sort of fan to help, also service was medium and prices a bit high (but pretty normal for NYC).
The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend if you are traveling to New York City!
Came her with my girlfriend, food was delicious.
Service was awesome, chef came around and asked how the food was! They even messages my girlfriend on Instagram.
Great food but disappointing as the menu lacked dairy free options. I have a cheese allergy and could not find a single pasta that I could order. I wound up having to ask them to make pasta with garlic and oil; it was delicious but disappointing in the sense that I could make that for myself at home, I didn’t need to go to a restaurant and pay to have that made for me. Given the large and increasing presence of dairy allergies and veganism, it is shocking there were not options to accommodate on the menu itself.
My mother came in from upstate to visit
So much fun and great food! Definitely a favorite of mine in NYC!
Everything was great, especially the lovely waitress who looked after us all evening so well.
Only slight issue was the ATM machine in the restaurant. When I tried to get cash out to pay the bill, it only allowed me to take out a certain amount - max $120. Not really calibrated correctly given this isn’t a cheap restaurant, certainly when trying to pay for a family of 4. And a restaurant only taking cash seems incredibly old fashioned nowadays. Anyway, the ATM machine then crashed, twice. Not the stress you need at the end of an amazing meal with great service, especially when they only take cash (oh, and Amex).
The waitress was very helpful trying to sort things out but she asked (I assume the owner) where else I should go to get cash, and he ushered me across the street to an ATM that clearly had been boarded up for a long time. I don’t expect I was the first person that this has happened too (the staff said it happened often) so didn’t appreciate the lack of engagement or local knowledge. I had to walk down the road until I found somewhere with an ATM.
Shame, food and service were excellent.
We flew from Montréal to NYC especially for the Cheese Wheel. We were not decieved. Food tasted amazing. We were also treated to limoncello after our meal. Excellent service. Would go back in a Heart beat. Celebrating our 10th Anniversary.
I lived in Italy and this pasta was almost identical. The service was amazing! Great food, great wine, and a lovely atmosphere! I will definitely be going back!
What a great experience! From being seated in the garden to Cosmin our server - we had a fantastic dinner. And of course, the signature dish - cacio e pepe was incredible. They bring it to your table in a large cheese wheel and serve it right from there. If you like great pasta and service - I highly recommend this place.
We were seated in the garden, which was beautiful. Food was good and moderately priced for a pasta dinner (avg. $20/plate). Service was acceptable but could have been better. Biggest surprise was that, when we went to pay, they only accept AmEx or cash.
Overall, a good experience.
This is one of my “must do” restaurants when I visit NYC. It never disappoints. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I mean, come on....pasta served out of a cheese wheel?!?!? How can you say no to that?
