Food was very good, but the portions were very small for the price. Ordered the Ahi Tina special appetizer and it was 4 very thin slices of tuna about an inch long for $16. Cioppinno was very good but again not a lot to eat. For $31 I left hungry.
My fish may have been slightly over cooked. Staff was lukewarm in their friendliness. They were busy , but politeness could go a long way
This was a nice date-night for my wife and I. We really appreciated our waitress and the mellow mood of the restaurant. My food was not bad by any means, but I was not blown away which is why I rated it how I did. I look forward to trying the sturgeon the next time we attend. This is definitely a wonderful place for drinks.
We're so lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood. Consistently excellent food and service. Can't wait to go back.
Food was amazing, staff was attentive and very helpful in recommending dishes, and the atmosphere was cozy. Definitely will return!
The food was absolutely delicious, every single thing we ordered was terrific!
Service was lovely, such an enjoyable dinner, thank you!
Wonderful dinner with delicious food, amazing service, and just all around amazing experience for a very special occasion with my family! Thank you!
We ordered the bass and the ono. Both were excellent. The server was quite skilled in crafting cocktails.
I had inadvertently made an outside reservation but it was too cold to stay. We were about to leave when the hostess told us she had had a cancellation and could seat us inside, which we appreciated.
The food was great and the service pleasant. My only hesitation was the noise level, which made it hard to have a conversation at our table.
Our server was amazing and food was outstanding!
Belated birthday surprise with a candle on dessert. My fish dish, Ono was delicious. So was the potato gratin.
Staff very friendly and the ambiance was great. Had the Gravlax special tasty, would’ve liked a little horseradish or spice in the sauce and a little more bread. My Ono was a little dry, my friend’s was perfect. The Pot de Crème …OMG!!! So incredibly good. The consistency was more like a ganache or the inside of a truffle. So decadent and delicious. 😍
Arrived a few minutes before our reservation, got seated well afterwards even though our empty table sat unoccupied all the while. It was a delightful corner table but the ventilation system had us alternately freezing and roasting. Aside from the logistical glitches the food and service was tremendous. Knowledgeable staff, locally sourced fare, prices very good for the Portland market.
Great food and service. They were really helpful making sure I had a gluten free meal due to allergies. Will definitely go back!
Food was fabulous.
The service and ambience were top notch but the cocktails were subpar. The food ranged from incredible to inedible, quite puzzling.
We've always had seafood here, and for good reasons. The preparation, of any dish, is done beautifully, tender (and crispy top layer where it calls for) and flavorful, as if it's infused into the flesh. And we never miss the dessert (and I am not even big on dessert in general).
Excellent place to enjoy a succulent meal. Truly an enjoyable dining experience
A hidden gem! I almost don't want to share but -- go!
Delicious, super varied flavors
Most of the food was good or very good. Monkfish was not that good. Lamb chops were under cooked and had to be sent back. Wine was fine.
Overall a very underwhelming experience. My husband and I both got ill afterwards. I think we had some bad oysters.
Food and service was outstanding. Weird that we are supposed to put our masks back on everytime the server comes to the table. They are back and forth so fast it doesnt make sense. And just when you get it on they are done and gone. But all in all will be back. Great place
Good service, great meal. Covid restrictions followed.
We're new to Portland, but we've already eaten at Cabezon three times. Each time, the menu had some new items; and each time, the food, preparation, and service were excellent
Reliably delicious, attentive (but not overly so) service, pleasant yet unfussy ambience
The food quality and value for the money was high. The service was good but not great, for example we had to remind the server that we had ordered coffee when she delivered the desserts. The Sturgeon caviar & creme fraiche on chive belinis were fantastic and worth the upgrade! The warm upside down pear tarte was delicious. The prawn wrapped in philo and basil over glass noodles were very tasty! We sat outside under the heat lamps, indoor the jellyfish glass lights give a soft and inviting look.
Nice small restaurant with great service and food. I will be back again.
The food was creative and delicious, the staff was friendly and prompt even though it was really busy. Great experience!
Always impressed with our experience here…food was amazing. Sole was delicious…as were the phyllo wrapped prawns.
Had delicious sole and best cocktail ever. My spouse loved his pork chop and the French were amazing
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Cozy environment, amazing food, great service!
Another superb meal at Cabezon! I’ve been there 4 times now and they are consistently excellent in all regards. Amazing food, friendly staff, gorgeous artwork and warm ambience.
We went to Cabazon because it appeared in an Open Table Top Neighborhood Gems email. Did not disappoint that’s for certain. We were seated (on a chilly night) on their outdoor patio and were quite cozy. The service was impeccable for the moment we arrived. Enjoyed wonderful cocktails! Blood Orange Old Fashion a must have. Dinner was spectacular. Between the four of us we had lamb, pork chop and cod after enjoying fabulous appetizers. The entire evening was spectacular and we can’t wait to return.
It was our first time dining here. We were pleased with the food and service. The space is very nice. We will be back to try more thinks on the menu.
The service and the food was so good at such good price. They made a very lovely experience. Would come back
Had picked my husband up from PDX & wanted to dine near airport (with time constraints). Found Cabezon through search & so glad I did! Excellent food, drink, & service. We’ll be back!
Such a great meal! Fresh ingredients and creative dishes. Had a great server, very knowledgeable and personable.
Cabazon is a wonderful bright spot in our neighborhood. They sure know how to gently cook fish. The staff is helpful, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is sophisticated and original. We love to go there for special occasions.
