I am keeping this very short but to the point. Very nice place; the dinner was only eclipsed by the overall service and friendliness of the staff.
Very good food with great prices! Definitely recommend for a business dinner or date. It's a little frustrating the bar is cigar/smoke friendly. They do a decent job of trying to filter the air but if you hate smoke, going early to sit at the bar is not going to work here. We stuck it out but it did detract from the experience. Steak was very good and the wine list is great and quite reasonable. It you are not hanging in the bar before your meal, then I recommend with no concerns.
The wait staff was mediocre and not customer friendly, food was good but steak didn’t have much flavor.
I was disappointed because initially when I made the reservation through open table I requested bar seating. The hostess lead us to a table in the dining room. I asked the hosts if there was seating in bar area as I requested and she explained there wasn’t any seats available. Shortly the manager walked up and said if I didn’t call the restaurant direction wasn’t guaranteed bar seating. I then asked what is the point of the reservation then? He hard a hard time trying to explain. Two seats at the bar opened and my date and I went in. The bartender was friendly and service was good. The food was mediocre especially for the high price. This restaurant has a great ambiance but the food was not that good and they do not honor their reservation seating.
Everything was excellent!
Wonderful experience as always at Cabernet! Exceptional service and quality food.
Great food, good drinks
Just not a very good meal for $150. The Valentines Day special menu has some type olive oil and garlic sauce on top of the steak and carrots that was very overwhelming. Everything tasted the same.
Perhaps it was our fault, as we did not realize it was a cigar bar and exactly what that meant....the smoke odor was evident when the door to the inside opened, and we wanted to leave then....wish that we had, as the food was just mediocre. My husband enjoyed his shrimp, but my pork chop had no taste of pork at all, a very strange aftertaste, and I would never order it again. The smoke in the main dining room was so bad that we asked to be moved, and never did really get relief from it....if you have problems with smoke, do yourself a favor and don't go!
Great food, great service. The sever did a great job explaining the minute. Will come back.
The food was delicious and the seafood was fresh with nicely sized quantities. The raisin bread served at the beginning of the experience was quite tasty. We had the fried lobster tails as an appetizer and they were exquisite. For my lunch entree, I enjoyed the shrimp scampi pasta. The sauce was a bit bland, so I asked for some Alfredo sauce and combined it with the original sauce in the dish, which made it amazing. As a cocktail I chose an espresso martini. It was mediocre only because it was so strong that I couldn’t finish it. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and pleasant! Overall, the experience was great and I will definitely be back!
Nice treat for Valentines Day. We went there on a recommendation from a friend who said their steaks are fantastic. He was right - the steaks were very well prepared and flavorful. The beefsteak tomato salad was also tasty as was their sautéed vegetables. Our waiter Brian was super attentive and helpful. Ambience was Ok - we sat out in a big open area so didn’t feel very intimate. Also don’t expect to pay less than $50 for entree plus side items. Guess this is typical now for upscale steakhouse.
Took my wife for valentine's day and it was well worth it. Food was very good and service was excellent, thanks Seth!
We love AJ
A bit disappointing. I’ve eaten here perhaps 8 or 10 times. Service was slow, food mediocre and an extra drink added to the bill. Still, the atmosphere is quite nice and this experience will not prevent me from returning. Previous experience here has always been very good
My wife and I split an excellent caesar salad to start dinner. She ordered the 8oz filet and I got the 12oz strip, along with the mushrooms and potato gratin. The steaks came out well overcooked, but the waiter took care of it right away and we had newly cooked steaks in about 5 minutes, the way we ordered them. They also brought out fresh sides with our steaks. The 1/2 bottles of wine on Friday and Saturday is a nice promotion.
My wife and I had dinner at Cabernet with her brother and his wife who were visiting from Florida. We were seated promptly and our server Seth introduced himself. He was both efficient and helpful. He explained the items on the fixe prix menu as well as the preparations of other items. We ordered some appetizers that required some special preparation and they gladly accommodated us. Our service as well as our dinner was flawless. My wife and I have dined here often, and frequently with other couples, and it has always been outstanding. We will certainly return.
Cabernet is by far the best steakhouse in Alpharetta. You have to watch all the others as they claim Angus beef but not prime. Oak or Pampas will have one or two prime steaks but Cabernet is ALL prime. The bone in filet or the large NY Strip are the best! If you have a colleague who is hungry try their bone in ribeye steak special! Its awesome with enough for two steak sandwiches the next day!
As usual, beautiful atmosphere, nice service, with food that works fine for a business meeting.
We had a reservation for 8:15Pm and needed to wait another 20 min to get seated. Then it took another 25min before a waiter recognized us. The food took a long time to get to our table and for sure was to long under heat-lamps so that the steaks were overcooked. This was the worst service ever over the last 9 years I went to this place. We truly consider not to go there anymore.
Wonderful ambiance for date night with a spouse or special person. Extremely classy/professional wait staff and hostess, etc. Drink specials were great, otherwise found some of the mixed drinks very pricey. The fixed menu was a GREAT deal for the price and food selected. Varying tastes and textures - hot food served hot, cold food served cold. Martini's very tasty. Server was exceptional. Wonderful evening and value for the price. One of our favorite places to dine in the area. Keep up the good work!
This was the second visit and it was as good as the first which confirms our initial impression. It was enjoyable in all ways that make us happy. Great service and great food. The fixed menu was fantastic and everything came along with great timing.
The food and ambiance was wonderful. Unfortunately our waiter Greg was only mildly friendly and got distracted quite often and did not follow up well. Bo filled in at times and was very kind. We’ll return but ask for a different waiter.
Great food and service as this was our first but not our last visit. Everything was cooked great. Wine special was awesome and I can’t say enough about the staff. Great job Cabernet!!!
I took my mom here for her birthday and the food was okay. I ordered the scallops with risotto and the risotto was basically rice with shrimp and corn, it didn’t have that creamy risotto consistency. I had a waiter name John kept reaching over me to grab dishes without saying excuse me. My mom did enjoy the fried lobster tail appetizer which is good. Not a bad experience but a little over price for the quality. And if you’re not a fan of smoke they have a smoking section and that smoke leaks into the restaurant. It is not too bad if you go before 7pm.
AJ & John provided spot-on service. The wine selection is awesome and the food was excellent. Kudo's!
Cabernet is excellent in every aspect! The staff never disappoints and Chef Richard is the best in Atlanta. The food is amazing and the staff is incredible. They work as a team so rare to see now in the restaurant industry. They pay attention to every single detail to make your dining experience outstanding and unforgettable...CABERNET IS ONE OF A KIND!!
Cabernet was the perfect place for a business lunch in North Fulton. Great food and service, and set-up was perfect for quiet conversation. Will definitely be my go-to place for future OTP meetings.
Cabernet had sold a gift certificate with no expiration date on the gift certificate. We were disappointed to find out at the end of our dinner that this restaurant would not honor the gift certificate. The manager communicated that he had no authority to honor it and that he called the owner on the phone and he refused to honor it. Horrible customer experience as we spent hundreds of dollars there. The service was a challenge too as one of the waiters poured one couples wine in another couples glasses and did not offer to replace the wine that he poured from that couples bottle. We had to point it out and request another bottle. Lastly the primary waiter was extremely rude and had zero customer services skills. I have eaten here since this place opened and I will no longer go back after this poor experience.
Nice enough out. No surprises with Cabernet. My husband was looking for a steakhouse and it does not disappoint.
Went on Saturday night. Great value on weekend since they cater to business people during the week. Half price wine and several specials including 3 and 4 course priced fixed meals. Excellent grouper special so not just a steak house. Great place for a high end night out on Friday / Saturday at a great value.
Went here with my Mom for dinner. We were treated like queens! Fernando, our waiter, was attentive and helpful. He made our evening memorable. The restaurant was crowded, but not too noisy, and very comfortably appointed.
My only caveat was that we were seated near the bar, where cigar smoking is permitted. If this is an issue for you as it is for me, ask to be seated elsewhere.
Spent a night out with a gift card from our children. Had the chef’s specialty for the evening which was superb.
We have just returned from my birthday dinner tonight at Cabernet.
My husband and I, my daughter and 9 year old granddaughter.
We have dined here many times before usually for special occasions to celebrate with different members of the family and have always thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tonight however we didn’t.
The service was not what we were used to, although our two waiters were cordial during the evening.
Cocktails took long to arrive.
We waited one hour for our main course.
It was very difficult to get our waiter’s attention when needed.
That’s a very long time to wait specially with a child.
Luckily for us she’s extremely well behaved and did not complain but never the less very hungry and it was late.
When the dinner finally came the wrong side dish was delivered.
My husband made the reservation and was told at the time that we would receive a complimentary birthday dessert, we didn’t.
We ordered bananas fosters and my granddaughter ordered vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup which we didn’t get.
We asked for it again and the waiter brought it.
At the very least, the child’s ice cream should not have been charged for if the bananas fosters was not included in the “complimentary birthday dessert” or some mention of what might be included would have been nice.
We will think twice before returning as this is not an inexpensive restaurant and the least we expect is good service.
Hostess seated us at first table closest to the door and it was very cold and windy. I immediately asked for a table away from there. The hostess began to help me until another diner asked her a question which she immediately begins to work on and ignoring me. So I saw a man whom I asked if he was the manager and if he’d move us. Without a smile and an affirmation he asks the hostess to put us at the last table away from the front door. She’s young so without much said we follow her to our new table where we are now seated without apology for the cold table.
Then AJ, our server, started well taking care of us. Food was slow in coming out. I ordered my steak medium to medium rare as did another client. Neither was cooked right ( way rare) so AJ apologized and took them away. Kitchen was again very slow and finally came out along with newly cooked sides. No apology. We had now finished our bottle of wine so we asked the manager if he’d consider buying us a drink. He agreed half heartedly but without a real feeling. He then brought out a bottle matching the nice one we’d been drinking and serves it. No real apology.. just pours the wine. Nice gesture with no feeling. We finished our steaks which were good and sat for awhile drinking the wine and AJ comes by our table after his partner cleared the dishes and drops off the bill. No questions about coffee, desserts or liqueurs. Not good at all. We left feeling like AJ was “too busy” for us. No additional apology when dropping it off either. Not impressed at all. Poor recovery for an expensive meal.
I am so conflicted. Celebrated my birthday here. I had a great meal but the service was terrible. I even reached out to the restaurant about my experience and no one followed up. Our food was late, wrong, and our bills were wrong. Our server team seemed distracted and were non-responsive. The valet was rude and the staff was arguing. I dine out often and high end steakhouses are my fave- but the Cabernet experience was lackluster. The food was great- maybe I got them on a really bad night?
Great time celebrating my birthday
Excellent as usual. Did another birthday dinner there, and the food and staff were great. There are not many places that can put excellent food together with equally excellent service.
Found it weird That they had a smoking area , although glasses off we should smell it..
I had invited some "ITP" friends to have lunch to prove that we have excellent restaurants "OTP" Somehow thgose inside the perimeter don't believe . They were impressed by the ambiance and the excellent food. Service was...average. The waiter was abrupt and didn't seem to care whether we were there or not. He did check back with us, kept our drinks filled but....too aloof.
