Cabernet Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
This is 4th time we’ve been there and each times it’s a little less everything. The menu hasn’t been updated for years but being a steakhouse of the old fashioned kind it’s what you’d expect. Menu simple so it should be perfect. Filet a little tough, scallops a little overdone. Good but not great.at the prices and out of date menu it should have been great. It’s now off our list of overnite trip to that area. Too bad
This was our first time dining here. It was our anniversary. We had a 5:30 reservation and were the only ones in the restaurant until close to 6:00. That was a nice treat. The food and service were amazing! My only comment would be it would have been nice to have complimentary dessert since it was a special occasion.
Beautiful decor! Interesting & diverse menu.
A large bug was on our table, which I captured and showed to the server. Immediately, the manager appeared at our table, sincerely apologized and comped our entire meal.
The meal was quite good, but the salmon was average.
Very good experience, great service and the menu was very rich! We had a Senior Leadership Team off site meeting and choose Cabernet Steakhouse because we wanted a nice streak dinner. We definitely got what we wanted! Location is good for travelers and business alike. I mist mention that the seafood selection was outstanding...I personally had the lobster scampi dish! AMAZING
Had reservations for 5:30PM on a Thursday for 3 people. We arrived way early and was told by the host that they were still setting up even though the restaurant is open all day and only 2 tables were occupied at the time. We were made to wait at the bar and got seated after 45 minutes. This issue set the tone for the entire evening. Fortunately, our servers were real attentive. Food is okay and reasonably priced. However, there are plenty of steak houses in metro Atlanta with better tasting steaks.
Awesome steaks as usual - I had the aged filet, bone in. Pittsburg style - so great that this steakhouse not only knows that that is, but knows how do so, with out a jury rigged method many use that doesn't turn out right (most likely in a hot skillet). this is my go to place in Alpharetta, that typically ends in the cigar bar attached, very hard to find these days..
I picked this restaurant because I thought it would be a quiet place to have a one on one interview with a prospective employer. The first half of the meal was OK in that respect, although the piped in music was a little louder than I would've liked. However, for the second half of the meal and the conversation, a party of 12 was seated right next to us and they were as loud as you can imagine. I was told by the maître d' that I was being sat in a quieter location in the restaurant. I guess there is no such thing
Arguably the best steak house in the Alpharetta area. I had an important business dinner and everything from the service to the ambiance to the steaks and sides was superb. I had the filet and it was so tender it melted like butter. The creamy spinach was addicting. I hard a hard time holding back. The server detected this was more of a business conversation than a casual dinner and gave us our space. Real pros can detect that. I'll go back again and again.
I had not been to Cabernet in several years as I live out of town. The hubby and I went the other night and had a wonderful dinner.
We order our steak Pittsburg Very Rare. We realize this requires a very hot grill. Many restaurants say they can prepare a steak this way but do not "pull it off". Cabernet prepared it Perfect! Yum that charred outside and juicy inside... DELICIOUS!
We also had the fried lobster tail as an appetizer... so very good. The wine was also excellent and at a very resonable rate.
Our waiter, Larry, was excellent and added to our wonderful evening.
We are from Ft Myers, running from Irma. This made for a delightful evening in a "uncertain" time.
I was honestly disappointed in the quality of the food. I have eaten at Cabernet one other time when in Alpharetta and it was very good. This time, not so much. My filet was overcooked, the scallops were chewy, the presentation of the shared appetizer plate was less than good and just the overall service was off.
All in all it was a good experience. I asked the waiter what the Petite Syrah wine by the glass was, and he couldn't remember. Then no one checked back on us after we received our entrees for a while, and they missed 2 side items, so we had to wait an extended time for those items to be brought to the table. The food tasted great, and all in all it was a successful evening.
When I need a steak this is the only place I'll go. They have great seafood (this week included Dover Sole prepared at the table) but it's hard for me to pass up a prime steak and a glass of red wine. One of my favorite restaurants - no exaggeration - I've eaten here over a thousand times. Highly recommend.
We had not been in years...much better than another popular steak restaurant in Alpharetta... we will be returning! The ladies the all inclusive meals offered. Service and food were great. Detected a tinge of smoke from the bar area...surprised, but did not bother us.
We were a party of 10 adults Saturday August 12 at 7 pm table 61. Our server had short dark hair with a short beard and glasses, didn't get his name. He was very arrogant. The food was delicious as usual. One of us ordered the grouper and he needed a magnifying glass to find it on his plate, but it was delicious. HOWEVER. The service was terrible. Our main waiter had the nerve to say "here you go sweetheart" when he brought my wine. One person in the group got the wrong salad and when she told the waiter, he said he rang it up right but he'd take her word for it. Excuse me? You're supposed to say "I'm sorry ma'am I will be right back with the correct salad you ordered". Then to make matters worse, when the same person got their food it was cold, she had to send it back to get warmed up, and no one wants food from the microwave at a place like Cabernet. Attention was extremely lacking, it took 30 minutes between finally getting the second server's attention to bring our check, to when he came back with our credit card for us to sign. 30 MINUTES! We asked him to split the bill evenly between 5 credit cards to make it easy for him and it still took him forever. I don't know why these men had such attitudes. They almost ruined our meal, none of us gave extra tip for all these reasons, I hope they noticed. I hope the main server develops a nicer less stuck up attitude. We will all think twice before returning to Cabernet.
NY Strip with bleu cheese was cooked just right and was teeming with flavor. As with all steakhouses, it's never an inexpensive dinner but if you know you're going to splurge then enjoy it. One oddity: Cabernet knew it was my birthday but failed to acknowledge it, either with song or candled cake....
