Ca' Dario used to be my go to Italian spot when in Santa Barbara. Wow, it has dropped a ton in quality and offerings since the last time I was there.
Wine list is limited and they did not have my first choice available even though it was on their list. They don't carry any Zinfandel/Primitivo options.
When asked if we could add italian sausage to any of our meals, they informed us they don't serve italian sausage anymore....
Lastly, the server was not very knowledgeable about the menu.
We had a great evening. Very cozy.
It was rather shocking that they asked us to move from our table when we had already been served our dinner and were enjoying our wine so that they could accommodate a VIP.. whatever that means to them. I plan to speak to the owner about this .. very bad manners.
Consistently delicious and excellent service, highly recommended!
Ca Dario did it up right! The Puttanesca sauce on their capellini was excellent and the filet of sole was over the moon delicious.
What a wonderful evening! Wait staff was attentive, food was delish and lovely cocktails.
Readily adapted to meet dietary needs.
Amazing Food! Great Service
Delicious 4 course meal!
We enjoyed a lovely thanksgiving dinner. Food was delicious and service was great.
Very pleasant staff, and delicious food! Their outdoor area on Victoria St. is very quiet, at least on Thanksgiving, which is when we dined there.
Great foods and excellent service.
Food was delicious and service excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We do love Ca'Dario, we really do. But is it ever noisy!!!! The answer is to go to the Ca'Dario out in Goleta. Same wonderful food, terrific wait staff, but much more peaceful.
The evening was perfect from the ambience to the food and service.
Tony was great.
Outstanding in every way. Took my girlfriend there for her birthday and she loved it!
Excellent choice of authentic Italian foods. Meals well prepared and served. Attentive staff. We will definitely return to experience many of the selections.
The food was delicious but seemed so rushed and felt like they wanted us to finish and leave. Tried to pick up plates before we were even finished.
Always a great meal, service. One of our favorites outside of Italy!!!
Service was excellent. Server was very attentive and prompt with the food delivery. Presentation was very impressive. The filet o Sole in lemon sauce was delicious. The raviolis were outstanding. My wife ordered the terra cotta baked chicken and was not happy with that dish. The chicken was overcooked and mushy. We were celebrating our grandson's 20th birthday and were in Santa Barbara as he is attending and living at UCSB. The birthday dessert was enjoyed!
When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess greeted us with a happy birthday greeting. She was very sweet and should be complimented. We will return again the next time we are in Santa Barbara.
Is an excellent restaurant for Italian Food - casual and always delicious.
Wonderful ambiance, friendly staff, great food!
Most excellent meal on Saturday evening! Perfect place to carb load before the SB 1/2 Marathon!
Ca' Dario has been our go-to restaurant in Santa Barbara since we moved to the area 4 years ago and it never disappoints. Food and service is consistently excellent. Don't expect "red sauce Italian" here. The food is sophisticated and comforting at the same time. It's always challenging to decide whether to order our "old favorites" from the regular menu, or to order the enticing specials. Either way, you can't go wrong. Fish, which is so often overcooked in some restaurants, is expertly prepared here. Desserts are exceptional too. The service is friendly and professional. Highly recommended.
Great food, great service. 1st time there and will be back when we visit Santa Barbara again.
Great restaurant! Delicious, flavorful food and wonderful ambience. We will come again!
The food was delicious. I wish Ca' Dario had a larger selection of gluten free items on the menu.
It was my birthday and the service was perfect and the food was perfect just a little expensive for me. So delicious it’s my dream dish the ravioli.
Great little restaurant in Santa Barbara. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance. The food was outstanding. I had a chicken cooked in a crock with a mushroom and vegetable sauce and grilled polenta, and my wife had spinach pasta. Both were excellent. We went on Friday night, and the vibe was quite lively and busy. My only knock was that the servers were extremely busy that night and we did not get a lot of attention, but overall I had a great experience and would go back again.
Great night out. Good food and excellent service. We were seated quickly and had a lovely evening.
Our family of 4 ate at 5 places during our time in Santa Barbara. None were bad, actually I would rate all above average, but overall this was the best. Good values on wine by the bottle, and a versatile menu that adults and kids both gorged on.
Good service, good food. We’ve never had anything less than an excellent experience at Ca’Dario.
Love the food!!! Best Italian. Love the ambiance.
Great food and service!
Excellent Italian food at a reasonable price. Great wine selection too!
The chicken dish cooked in terra cotta pit with mushrooms would have been even better with less salt.
We were a large party celebrating a belated anniversary and two birthdays. Food quality was superb , wait staff was very attentive and the ambiance warm and lively. Great downtown Santa Barbara location close to everything including the Courthouse and Downtown. We were all very pleased with our meal and the service and will certainly be back soon.
Delicious Italian food! My favorite in Santa Barbara by far. It feels like you are in a neighborhood New York Italian restaurant. Warm staff, great service and awesome food!
Ca'Dario is consistently good. I love the whole grilled (broiled?) branzino, which was on the Specials menu last night. It comes with a side of veggies. They have a good wine selection too.
My partner had the chicken risotto, which he said lacked flavor. He added salt and it was good. The side of veggies that came with the fish were tepid, but otherwise fine.
