MUST If staying in the Atlanta area. Superb in all categories!!
This was our first visit but will not be our last. We normally go to C&S Chowder House because of its proximity to our home, but we enjoyed the atmosphere in Vinings. The wait staff was the best and most professional that I have seen in years. We came especially to see Ryan Bee who was a favorite at the Chowder House. We would certainly recommend the food, atmosphere, and great employees.
The service was exceptional, our waiter did a great job of going over the menu with us as my girlfriend and I were first-timers there. The oysters I had were exceptional, but a bit pricey. It was quite loud, but that was mostly because we were seated very near to the bar. If I had one complaint it would be that the crab was slightly over-done and they pre-cracked it, so it got cold much faster. But other than that it was exceptional
The service was awesome from the moment that we walked in the door. The food was absolutely amazing, chargrilled oysters are my new favorite appetizer and I thought that I didn't like oysters.
Always excellent. The grilled oysters and tuna tartar are amazing.
We four (parents, son and wife) hadn’t been in a while and missed it, particularly the char-grilled oysters. We were there on a Tuesday night, not crowded. I think it can feel too noisy for dinner at times. We didn’t have one item that wasn’t perfect and our waiter was superb and fun.
Our waiter was not enthusiastic or excited to be at work apparently. He didn't smile once. It took a long time for him to take our appetizer order and several minutes to bring it. We ordered the goat cheese and shrimp beignets which were not as described and HORRIBLE! We waited for several minutes for our server to take our entree orders and then over 30 mins to bring it. No explanation for the delay; no apology. We had to ask other servers for basic things like more water, extra napkins, food items, etc. Thank goodness my entree was delicious! The food is always good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. For the price, you expect and should get top notch cust service. I was not pleased.
Exceptional meal and experience. Service was prompt and on point. This place never disappoints
This place is awesome. We dine here at least once per week. Everything is good.
This was my first time there. The food and service were excellent. Will definitely go back. Love the atmosphere. Reminded me of a restaurant in NYC.
Perfect setting for an evening out with friends
The food is excellent and the service is even better ... Thanks for such great treatment last weekend!!!
Great meal, great service.
Awesome as usual:)
Amazing. The Char Grilled Oysters were fantastic and so was the Steak.
Everything was perfect. This restaurant reminds us of a fine New York City restaurant!!
We arrived early and were seated promptly. The atmosphere was good until a corporate party of 16 showed up and was seated next to me and my wife. They quickly got drunk and super loud and very vulgar. So loud I couldn’t hear my own wife talking to me across the table. Our waiter hinted that we needed to rush to get our order in before the corporate table so we did but still waited for almost 40 minutes for the fish special and a medium rare steak. It was good (fair) but could have been so much better. Service quickly became overwhelmed by the 16 top and we seemed to fall by the wayside.
We were seated right away and given menus. Then the wait began. Didn’t get water or have anyone check on us for at least 10 minutes. Finally a person asked if anyone had taken care of us. He said our waiter was having some problems so he would get us water. We kept having different people which was a little confusing. The food was very good and cooked just right.
Service was great. Bluepoint oysters, red snapper and sea bass were excellent.
C&S always makes me feel at home. Everyone is so friendly and the food is delicious and incredibly fresh. I highly recommend the calamari and the oysters. Also, ask for Darren to be your waiter. He will take your dining experience over the top!
Food was very good, but service lagged between appetizer and entrees.
We both had New England Clam Chowder and it was good as always. My business partner had various items of broiled fish with a side salad and he seemed to like his meal . I had the fish tacos and they were terrible. Bland and tasteless. I did not finish them.
It was great! My family and I go quite offered. I had a cousin and his wife in town and we wanted to show them out to one of our favorite restaurant.
I have been to C&S multiple time for various occasions and always had a great experience. However this visit was the worst I’ve with this restaurant due to our server. He was the most unfriendly and miserable person I had to serve me at any restaurant . He did not represent C&S well at all. Due to his unfriendly disposition, a 1 rating was more than deserving. The restaurant did compensate the cost of the meal to some degree due to the poor service by the server.
Good food- very loud- great service - would go back again
Really an awful evening. 1. Tables are way too close together. We could hear every word the people were saying at the tables next to us. We were even invited into their conversation. Not what I wanted. 2. There were little bugs circling the bread basket. Maybe because we were seated near the front door. 3. Very noisy. 4. The portions were small and the waiter messed up my order. The grouper I ordered came with potatoes and broccoli. I had asked to substitute carrots for the broccoli. Instead I was served broccoli and carrots. I pointed this out to the waiter and he brought me two tiny boiled potatoes. I was OK with that except when I got the bill I was charged an extra $6.00 for the potatoes. So I basically paid for the waiter's mistake. 4. The Manhattan on the rocks I ordered was served with a cube of ice the size of the iceberg that sank the Titanic. Very little liquor. 5. I ordered the grouper blackened. It was extremely salty. Pretty much all I could taste. Hopefully it wasn't overly salted to cover up some bad fish.
So overall a very expensive and disappointing night. I'll never go back.
We can for a friends birthday celebration and it was absolutely awesome..
Visiting Atlanta with friends and introducing the two couples. The food was excellent the noise was piercing and impossible to carry on a conversation.
Service was just fair. Ordered grilled jumbo shrimp and they were small and very dry. Very expensive evening and not worth it.
We always enjoy going to C & S to dine. We like that it's in Vinings and not everyone knows about this jewel. It's a "neighborhood gem" and always good food and atmosphere. It's a little pricey, but all restaurants in this catagory are expensive. You have to pay to get this type of service and food!
C&S Seafood & Oyster Bar never disappoints! The oysters are outstanding, and the fresh seafood is divine!
Every time we go, we are never disappointed! Quality of food is exceptional - service is attentive without being overbearing - presentation is traditional and impressive. Overall a very good value on some of the best seafood in our town!
Best seafood in the entire Atlanta area. Cherry bread pudding is delicious!! Most tender lobster I have ever had!
Not the first time there...food was pretty good but, not a great lobster. The service, however, you decide.....the waiter took our wine order then came back in 10 minutes to ask us if we wanted anything besides our water (had to remind him we had already ordered wine). We received our salad but, no bread..had to ask for it. Our lobsters...the head waiter/manager (not sure) came over and took our “shell bowl” when it was about 3/4 full, saying “I’ll bring you another one”. He never did and, at at minimum, should have left the first one until he brought the second one. Oh, and this is after they brought us someone else’s food about halfway through our salad (wrong table)
Absolutely delicious!! Great wait and host staff - I can't wait to go back.
As someone from the Northeast, this place has the authentic vibe of a great NE fish house. I could almost smell the salt water. We'll be back.
Great service and food. Perfect for a meal before the Ballet. Reasonably priced fresh fish and apps. Great drinks and wine list.
So Glad we found this spot, everything was Great. Great Food and Drinks, Service was A1...or waiter Rommell was very attentive. We were seated fast and again good was Everything! We will be back!
The food is always good when we eat here. The oysters were very fresh and like that they have a variety to select from.
The chargrilled oysters were amazing. Had 4 in our party. Sea bass. Snapper piccata. Grilled swordfish. All was fabulous.
Only negative was the very poor cream brûlée
Outstanding food and service. My first time there and will be back for sure.
