C&O Cucina Ratings and Reviews
We have eaten there a number of times and really like this restaurant. 7 out of 8 of us enjoyed our dinner. The 8th had eggplant parmesan and found the cheese to be a little bitter. The never ending servings of small crispy garlic rolls are delicious and quite unusual. Haven't found them anywhere else. I personally have never had a bad meal. Therir sauces are outstanding and my favorite entree is the veal Marseilles (sp?). The service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
I was looking for a good, solid Italian restaurant for a client lunch and got it. The Italian cuisine was delicious and the prices were within reason. The service was unnoticeable, which is my definition of great service. All in all, a very pleasant introduction to an establishment I hope to visit again.
They took our reservation for New Year's Eve and ABSOLUTELY could not seat us. Told us it's be a 20 min wait but there was a huge number of people in the same boat and a totally full house. We went back on open table and saw that they were CONTINUING TO ACCEPT RESERVATIONS for the upcoming 15-30 minutes, even though they were totally beyond capacity. We left, obviously.
I love this place! Every time we have a friend from out of town we bring them here. And the garlic knots are their number 1 selling point. The servers are always nice and give great service. The food is yummy and the portions are large. I especially enjoyed it on New Years Eve. It was crowded and we were late to our reservation, the hostess was very calm and patient. Wonderful experience
The food was salty and the linguini with clams was a few fresh clams and the rest out of a can. The linguini was equally as bad. Would never go there again. my friends did not enjoy their food either. The bread and the wine was good but other than that, a poor example of an Italian restaurant.
A wonderful find for a group of coworkers and I. Finding good Italian food on the west coast is hard, especially in LA. This place is a true diamond in the rough given some other options. The homemade chianti that is served in low-ball glasses is spectacular.
Service and food are consistently very good and prices are fair. Always enjoy the place. But, special note, it gets really loud at peak hours. We now go around 3 PM as it is much quieter. We have had groups (with birthdays) recently there and the service was outstanding!
C&O Cucina is a good choice for dependable food at reasonable prices. My group enjoyed minestrone soup, the green garden salad, penne & sausage, chicken marsala, as well as the gnocchi. Each item was tasty and the service was better than adequate. The dough balls that the restaurant serves when each party is seated were a real hit, and the bread plate was refilled quickly each time we emptied it.
C&O Cucina is very popular so reservations are suggested to avoid a wait. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this restaurant during a future visit to Marina del Rey.
We've loved C&O in the past and we were looking forward to this visit. In short the food is horrible now! The quality has significantly gone down. The pasta sauces tasted like they were from a can, no flavor at all. The gnocchi was rubbery and very bland. So disappointed in C&O and probably won't be back.
Ever since I've been introduced to C&O Cucina, I have been introducing my friends there and never a disappointment! Food is excellent and portions are huge! Garlic Knots are the best and addicting to eat! Best Tiramisu ever! Service is excellent and the ambiance and décor is charming! Love the Rat Pack feel to it!
We took my mom out to celebrate her 88th birthday this past weekend! She had never been to C&O Cucina before, and had a taste for lobster bisque. She does have an aversion to garlic, so sad to say she couldn't have any of the garlic knots (more for me - tee hee). Overall our group of 7 had a great time, we did come in the middle of the afternoon - so we could leisurely enjoy some extra family gossip/chit chat time. Our server was super sweet - a lovely lady from New York - she made our group feel very welcome!
Thanks again C&O - we may see you again next Monday for my daughter's birthday !
WE HAVE USED C & O'S FOR SEVERAL OCCASIONS LIKE LAST YEAR WHEN WE TOOK OVER THE WHOLE PATIO AREA FOR A 60TH BIRTHDAY PARTY, AS ALWAYS THE FOOD WAS GREAT WITH THE BEST GARLIC "BOMBS" AND THE VERY FRIENDLY, HELPFUL WAIT STAFF. THIS YEAR FOR ANOTHER SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WE HAD ENRIQUE AS OUR WAITER WHO WAS MOST HELPFUL. AS ALWAYS THE FOOD WAS GREAT ONLY PROBLEM WE HAD WERE PARENTS WHO ALLOW THEIR CHILDREN TO RUN AROUND BANGING ON POTTED PLANTS AND WALLS.
Why give a reservation for 10pm?
We booked a table for 6, arrived early and by 10:05 we were told we had to order because the kitchen was closing.
The food was bland and not very fresh. We could not even order desert, which was actually better due to the poor quality of the food.
We actually left a note, but so far nobody has had the time to even acknowledge it.
I discovered this place in 2009 and I've come back every time I'm in town. Last March, I brought my husband and now he insists that we go there at least once a trip - though we often end up here multiple times! The food is tasty - I've never had a bad dish and we're tried a lot of them! The service is friendly, the garlic knots are delish, and there's a parking lot on site. What more could you ask for? Love this place!
I've been here a few times before but I wanted my date to experience what I did with my food and those garlic bread balls lol. They're delish. My date and I ordered the Chicken Marsala. I usually order this and it never disappoints. So I definitely recommend this to anyone. I'll be there again soon enough. I love the location of the C&O right by the water....like in walking distance of the sand and the water.
The food here was amazing! I've eaten at my fair share of restaurants and I'm usually satisfied but not amazed. But this place blew my mind! The food was to die for and the service was 5 star quality! I would drive all the way from San Diego to eat there if I had too!
