Fantastic business lunch. The food was absolutely amazing, and service was very welcoming, friendly and professional.
The Restaurant is too noisy and crowded. My Client and I had difficulty hearing each other. This is the second time that I have experienced this problem.
The Food was a bit light. No starch. I was hungry leaving the Restaurant. Very pricey for Lunch.
Meal and service very very good but not a lot of ambiance since the restaurant was about 10% full
The service was great but the food was slightly too salty.
The noise level is slightly too loud to have a proper meeting.
Bymark never disappoints. It's not inexpensive by any stretch, but everything is exceptional. And the wine pours are generous. ;)
Great service, customized to our liking and schedule.
Came here for Valentine's Day and it was great. A little troubling to locate if you're not familiar with the downtown core. The service was amazing and I loved our server. The atmosphere was great and very elegant! The food was very unique and tasty! Would come again :)
Great! Food was delicious.
Bymark is way too noisy and very pricey for what you eat..do not fgo there to have a significant business meeting , you cannot hear from each other , music too loud ....last time for me
Service was outstanding!! Ambiance impressive. Tomato soup one of best I've had, ever! A little too loud though
A very good Winterlicious 2018 experience at this restaurant. The Tuna Tartare & Crab Parfait (appetizer), Chipotle Braised Lamb Shank (entrée), and Chocolate Mousse Tart (dessert) were all very good.
First time visit. Everything was perfect. Will be back.
Went for Winterlicious. The lamb shank was excellent, they added pepper and there were chayote vegetables, yummy. The creme brulee was an excellent dessert, we were scraping the bottom of the bowl! The service is always good here. The noise level at lunch time is high as there is an echo to the room.
I will not be recommending Bymark to anyone, at least not if they're planning to go for Winterlicious. The staff was cold towards us the entire time we were at the restaurant. When we arrived, the staff was reluctant to take our coats, and then asked if we were fine with sharing one coat hanger. Why was that necessary? Later, our appetizer was served almost immediately after we were served our bread. It felt as if the staff were trying to get us out as quickly as possible. The food was good, but the experience was ruined by the tone the staff took with us. If you're not going to offer good service during Winterlicious, don't participate. Don't give a second tier experience. Will not be going back.
Bymark had wonderful creative food
I was disappointed in our server who was inattentive not cleaning some spills from the servers at the table and long waits between checkups
The restaurant is crowded and other servers bumped my wife’s chair three times and never even apologized very poor customer service by wife was not pleased
We’ve had much nicer times at many other restaurants if not for Marks dishes I would never return
great winterlicious lunch menu. That lamb shank is a little big spicy and the portion is HUGE
The food was outstanding. We ordered winterlicious and all d of the dishes were excellent. We also ordered shrimp tacos. I raved about them to my friend and she though they were one ogf the best apps she has eaten! Will go again.
As always, Bymark did not disappoint. My collegues and I enjoyed the Winterlicious menu and received fast and courteous service.
Knowing Bymark's reputation, my partner and I jumped at the opportunity to dine there for Winterlicious.
A friend suggested that I try the steak tartare, but not having tried it before, I was reluctant to try raw meat. However, I knew that if there was a place to be daring with food, it'd be Bymark, so I read up about the preparation process of the dish and went with an open mind.
It blew my senses away. The meat was tender and flavourful; the meat was complemented by the harissa sauce, the silkiness of the quail's egg and the baba ganoush. This was the highlight of the meal for me.
Of course the roast duck breast was superb and the egg nog crème brulée was sinfully delicious, but it was the steak tartare that made my evening. Bymark converted me and I will be having it again.
Food was great but service was not. Requested a booth or more private spot as we were celebrating our engagement and got a crowded table where we were touching elbows with other guests. Waitress was not friendly and only took our orders when necessary but otherwise paid no attention to us. Food was fantastic.
Bymark was quite a let down. The food, while passable, was not spectacular in any way. And it did not make up for the terrible service.
Our waitress started by removing our candle, blowing it out and placing it out of sight. She then did her best to ignore us for the remainder of the time. We had to flag kitchen hands down to get an extra plate when needed, and the worst: one of our party, who did not order the prix fix, asked for a dessert menu so that he could join us on the last course. She said yes, but then left and did not come back for close to 10 minutes. After all of our desserts arrived, she came by and said, "oh yes, I'll go and get that menu for you." It was beyond too late.
Adding insult to injury, when we went to pick up our coats, the coat check brought out the wrong coats three times. We left there feeling like we had been treated like trash.
Do yourself a favour and skip Bymark. Go to Canoe, which has amazing food AND service. In fact, go anywhere else.
I visited yesterday with groups of 4 for winterlicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Although there was a hair in our dessert, we would not blame.
However, felt very sorry for the owner of the restaurant who is a well known celebrity chef unless your server and host concept is to be
1. ignorant to winterlicious guests
2. Do not greet or make eye contact with asian customers if they entered before 1130am
3.servers are not allow to say you're welcome when guests say thank you
4.servers will only refill water glasses but not asking how everthing is going.
5.when a hair is found in a dish, say sorry and change to new one with a chic attitude and pretend nothing happened.
We didnt want to tip the waiter but mistakenly gave him about 22dollars.
A Horrible mistake.
If you do not want to serve winterlicious gusets why even bother to register in the program? Also, the waiter should go to macdonal to learn how to perform customer service from a to z.
Bymark used to be one of my favourite restaurants. However, I was so disappointed at this time. Food is definitely too salty. Service is not as friendly as before. I guess I can find way better restaurant with the same price range. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.
Winterlicious. My second time in this restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, elegant, great service, great food. More upscale than Mark McEwan's North 44. I had the sashimi appetizer and venison main. Very nice.
Food was mostly wonderful, however we were disappointed that the bread that used to be complimentary was now charged $2 a piece and also the desserts (creme brulee & donuts) were not up to standard as far as taste was concerned. Plates looked wonderful though.
Food was good but uninspired. Not what I expected from reviews. Service was adequate at best. We were winterlicious customers but there were empty tables they didn't need to push us through. It wasn't a bad experience it was just like eating at a chain.
First night of Winterlicious 2018. Expected it to be a bit busy.
Course 1: Pork belly and shrimp; Steak tare tare
Pork belly has that strong “farmy” taste. Grits were tasty
Steak tare tare takes it. Splitting that quail egg with just enough baba ganoush
Course 2: Ahi Tuna; Venison
Both of these were on point. Venison has more textures, king mushrooms were so meaty
Course 3: Egg nog crème brulee; Apple cider donuts
Crème brulee was on point. Donuts were a little too sweet, dense and dry.
Winterlicious weekend food weekend
Very nice and quaint. Excellent service. Venison main course was delicious, however not fond of the grit in the appetizer. Dessert was okay.
Came for the Winterlicious lunch, and had a generally good experience. The parsnip soup was good, but had a bit too much pepper; the terrine was very good and well-plated. The lamb shank and sea trout were both excellent, as were the desserts creme brulee and chocolate tart. Our experience has made us consider going to Bymark's Winterlicious dinner as well!
Went here for Winterlicious, the service was great, the food came quick and they were quick on refilling our water.
Prompt, polite service, quality food and an extremely convenient location for a working lunch.
Disappointed with the steak, duck and mushroom were amazing. we had a cozy corner so that was excellent for our lady night out. Server didn't refill our hot water timely, we have to request them multiple times. Front desk girl was very friendly and we felt warm. I want to impress my overseas friend with the steak but it turned out disappointing.
I brought my staff here for a "thank you" lunch. We were able to have a great conversation with one another and not shout to be heard over the noise of the other diners. We were also comfortably seated and not squashed up like sardines in a tin. Our meals were also delivered in a timely fashion and was very tasty. It was an enjoyable and stress-free lunch.
The food and service exceeds expectations every time. The wait staff is the best I've seen. The ceviche is out of this world!!!
Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!!
Disappointed that online menus had not been updated and only found out at the restaurant that my favourite item was no longer offered.
When we arrived there was no host to greet us. We waited before stepping into the restaurant to join our friends. One of the staff rudely asked if she could help us and we let her know we were joining friends. Our main server (I can’t recall her name, she had red hair) was very nice and friendly. The rest of the staff seemed like they didn’t want to be at work and did not look particularly pleased to be there. Half of the party that arrived first were offered bread and water. The entire evening we were not offered bread. None of the courses came at once, half the table would be served and then after a few moments the other half would be. Some of us had the same dishes and the description by the servers of the food was different. For example one party had a detailed explaination of his appetizer and the other did not though they ordered the exact same thing. The appetizers were quite good yet the main that two of us had was under seasoned. We had chosen Bymark over Canoe (a restaurant that the four of us have been to and thoroughly enjoy) and it was a let down which none of us was expecting given the high reviews that Bymark receives. The details that set apart a place like Bymark from somewhere like JOEY restaurants were missing and it really spoiled the experience.
Excellent food quality and presentation. Pricing appropriate for the quality of food. Good range of creative choices. Over-priced house wines a serious disadvantage that will limit the frequency of our visits. All well and good to have a superb cellar, but less expensive open wine options should also be offered. That is the civilized thing to do.
TD Centre signage insufficient for easily locating the restaurant.
Pleasant as usual... a bit noisy... service and food were as expected for this type of establishment...
