Byblos Restaurant - Boston Ratings and Reviews
Byblos never disappoints. The food is always delicious especially the kabob and salads. The portions are also very generous. There is live music and entertainment with belly dancers which make it a memorable uncommon experience even for people who are not from Lebanon or the Middle East.
Terrible service. We have been here many times before and asked to be near the dancer, but we were given the worst table in another room behind a pillar. Then they had a private party that took over the room and made it took loud to speak to each other at the table. The last straw? We were given the check without asking or being offered dessert. We won’t be back.
We have been going to Byblos for years and have always found the food, service and atmosphere very much to our liking. On this occasion however there was a function in the room adjacent to the dining room, with unbearable loud music. It was impossible for us to have any conversation with our friends who we have not seen for quite a long time. There are doors between the dining room and function area that could have been closed, but it seems that there was an overflow in the function area and some tables in the dining room actually belong to the party so The doors could not be closed.
The food was good as always and the service was good. The only complaint was the noise level.
While walking around Norwood Center this past Saturday, we were in search of a new and interesting spot to try.
Byblos met our expectations and then some!
Who knew that such a beautiful restaurant was nestled in Norwood Center with such authentic Middle Eastern food?
We shared the hummus, falafel, lentil soup, and a chicken special.
All were AMAZING!!!
Wish I brought more friends so that I could have ordered more dishes!
Definitely will be back for more.
The server, Uri was phenomenal and very professional and knowledgeable of the menu he was selling. Such a treat these days to find such great service!
This was my third visit to Byblos and, as in the past, the food was extraordinary, the service was superb, and the ambience relaxing. It is a lovely restaurant that I can highly recommend for any occasion. I am relatively close by, but it's worth the drive no matter what the distance for you.
I took my family here for my dad's birthday, and the food was exceptional, and very well priced. I live in Boston and thought the space itself felt dated- and there was barely anyone there when we arrived at 6pm. By 7pm, the very large restaurant was totally packed- every table was taken- and there was live music and dancing. What a fun, unexpected evening!
The portions were very large, and the food was fabulous. You can tell everything is home made, from the Hummus to the Babaganoush- it all tastes so fresh. I will definitely be coming back here and highly recommend it!
Excellent food, but... other diners and we were left in the waiting area an uncomfortable amount of time. Then, some tables were empty on Saturday night, but the service was SO SLOW. The server was nice, but we got our entrees an hour and a half after being seated! I wasn't even hungry anymore.
The restaurant was very busy because it was Saturday night and so service was slow. The quality of food and the fun cultural atmosphere made the time go by quickly, however. The band, playing Lebanese Music, was excellent and made an enjoyable atmosphere. The Owner, aware of the delay, was prompt in responding and extremely gracious. How a restaurant reacts to problems can tell you a lot about the quality of a restaurant... and what we learned was that Byblos is high quality.
again... The food was just outstanding.
Our family loves Byblos! We come here for special occasions or just when we feel like having a nice leisurely meal. The food comes promptly but we enjoy lingering over it. The flavors are well balanced and authentic. My mother has brought her Lebanese relatives here and they were amazed at how the flavors duplicated their own mothers' cooking from many years ago.
Lebanese food is very accessible and healthy--most people will enjoy the grilled meats and vegetables and the fresh salads. Byblos has a great variety of dishes to choose from. If you don't have your heart set on one particular dish, consider ordering one of the assortments or family platters. Servings are generous and we always enjoy the leftovers!
The people who own and run the restaurant are lovely and welcoming. I highly recommend a visit or a return visit.
Food at Byblos was very good. Service was not. We were greeted and told the specials. My wife ordered her entree and were told it was out and we were the second table that tried to order it but were told it was out of stock. That should have been told along with the specials if that's the case. The wine list was notable in its education about and interesting selection of Lebanese wines. We ordered the most expensive Lebanese rose (from Chateau Musar - a notable producer) and were told it's the best one, but it was from the 2014 vintage and was far past its prime, falling flat. The restaurant has all the makings of greatness with a compelling menu, but really needs to re-focus on service.
What an incredible meal! We chose to do the pre-fix menu which had 3 packed courses with lots of variety and flavor! The hummus and babganoush was OUTSTANDING and the meat kabobs had the perfect seasoning. It truly was authentic! Not only was the food fantastic, but the entertainment was so fun! You could tell the people who work there love what they do! I definitely recommend this spot!
some food was good, others were not. inconsistent. the baklava and organic mint tea, were the worst tasting things I have ever had in like items. The fattoush salad dressing was so pungent, it burnt my tongue. tasted no mint in it at all, strictly parsley. the restaurant was getting ready to close for a few days, so maybe that is why the food was so inconsistent.
My husband and I took my mother here for Mother's Day. They had a prefix menu that included several courses and tons of food. Apps included: olives & pickled veggies, hummus, babaganoush, tabouli, spinach pockets, phyllo fried cheese rolls, kibbeh. We had the mixed grill of steak, chicken, kofte, grilled veggies over rice and a Lebanese dish of chicken with nuts over rice. Dessert was phyllo dough with a baked sweet cheese. Everything was fresh, flavorful and very well prepared. It was absolutely delicious. Very friendly service as well!
We were seated in a quieter area away from the band, at our request, and were happily able to hear each other. The food was really delicious - there is something very special going on with the falafel and kibbeh at this place. Main dishes were also good, and though we were by this point incredibly fully, we managed to wedge in some very good dessert.
