Server was not attentive. She did not come by the table until close to the end to bring desserts. Just a bad taste left in our mouths. The gentleman who would refill water was more of a server, more attentive and professional. Second time here, would’ve expected better service and better experience. Food was good.
7:30p reservation and we were promptly seated. Water was served and we ordered a couple of appetizers.
Then we waited. No bread. Nothing. Water. For 30 minutes.
8:01p, we finally received appetizers. To be fair, the Gem Salad was very good and the tomato cucumber salad was unique. The interesting addition of the pomegranate seeds added a crunchy sweetness that was very tasty. The Kretekos Greek white wine served with the salads was very nice as well.
Another 30 minutes went by as we completed our salads and at 8:32p, the truffle flatbread and fried eggplant kibbeh appetizers were served along with one of the most interesting red wines we've had in some time: Massaya. A 2017 Lebanese red wine from the Beqa valley. The wine was interesting. Relatively complex with a lot of fruit and depth for as young a wine. That wine was the highlight of the evening.
About 20 minutes later, we were poured a Macedonian red, Tikves Bar O Va. Interesting red with some leather and earthen tones. We will probably get a couple of bottles. The entrees were served a few minutes later. Truffled rice (good), short rib kabob (overcooked), Salmon in harissa sauce (good) and sunchokes in an interesting preparation. The salmon was in a slightly spicy sauce that was interesting but not very complex The sunchokes were quite good.
Dessert included a pour of a port that was syrupy. No depth to that port. The two desserts were quite good: The fried strawberry cheesecake were four miniatures that were nice to pick up and eat like mini empanadas. The chocolate frozen apricot dessert was also very good and the presentation was quite nice.
The salads, appetizers and dessert were notable. The service on what appeared to be a relatively quiet night was very slow. That did not appear to be by design, but rather a lack of teamwork from the front of the house staff.
We are highly appreciative of the two new wines that we discovered. Could recommend if someone had time to wait.
Excellent welcome greeting,.
Delicious cocktails with a beautiful bar area
Nice wine selection
Food was excellent. Bar service at back bar was the worst experience I have ever experienced. We waited for at least 25 minutes before a bartender came over and acknowledged us and took our order. Then waited another 10-15 mins for the drinks, which were standard cocktails, not elaborate. This is a serious disservice to the restaurant and should be addressed by management if they want to sustain a good reputation. Dining however was excellent and our waiter was attentive and on top of our order. It felt like 2 different restaurants by the difference in service.
Wait time for our reservation was not great. We waited nearly an hour for our table, even though we had a reservation. This is something that should be looked at from a management level, keeping in mind reputation of the restaurant.
We have a vacation home here in Miami Beach but Byblos is always our favorite go to place for dinner when we are in town. Our last visit was for our anniversary but we always visit here at least once when we spend time on the beach. The food is consistently good, the management is always friendly and acknowledges us, the atmosphere is wonderful and we routinely take our guests here for a great experience. We love, love, Byblos! The food is incredible!
First year anniversary. Amazing food and time.
Great meal. Lovely outdoor seating.
This was my 6th time at Byblos. I must say it never disappoints.
The food and presentation are always perfect.
I love this restaurant.
Been there before and loved it but something changed. The menu changed and the food is no longer as good as it used to be. Really regretted the dinner and will not be going back.
Great food as always.
Very inventive menu with amazing tastes.
The hamachi starter is a must.
Loved the whole branzino fish that was completely deboned for us.
Great vibe and decor...definitely get a seat upstairs.
This Hass to be the best place to be for dinner on the beach. No one does it like this. The food is unbelievable, the energy, the staff and everything else you could look for in a perfect evening out
It was too noisy. Food was average. The service was ok.
Too much yogurt in everything. The artichoke appetizer was awful
Too many fried items The branzino excellent
My server was Arthur and he was so amazing, caring and always assertive when serving us.
Byblos is the best restaurant in Miami!
Great atmosphere and service. Found the seating to be a bit uncomfortable. Make sure to try the cod and couscous! Absolutely delicious!!
Traveling from NY. Wonderful food and service. 👍🏻
We visited Miami for 72 hours and dined at Byblos twice...it’s that good. It’s equally various—brunch experience is decidedly different from dinner etc etc. Dine outside when there’s a breeze and upstairs for the aesthetic. We highly recommend the Turkish eggplant dumplings, beets, cod, burger, hamachi—so basically everything. ;) Cannot say enough good things. Both servers we had were amazing (although the only one whose name we caught was Franklin!).
Our waitress Daniela was fantastic and friendly. The food was just ok... besides the tiny portions,
It was great. We did the Chef’s choice tasting menus and with 4 people in our party were able to taste quite a few dishes for sharing.
The restaurant is two levels, ask to sit up stairs where it feels like an actual restaurant.
The food is good, and made to share, but after 4 visits I can’t think of anything that made me say wow.
The wine list is extremely over priced. Wines that cost under $30 at the liquor store are presented at prices in the triple digits. La Volte was $95, a bottle i regularly purchase in retail stores for $26. I’m sure tourist pay thinking this is normal,
It’s good, mandolin is better!...
The service was extremely slow. We arrived at 8:30 for our reservation. There were no tables available outside so we went to the bar. Very nice space and we had an appetizer. We ended up waiting 45 minutes and had to remind them that we were waiting for a table. We sat at 9:20 and our server did not give us water or take our order until 9:35. It was extremely annoying. Our food tasted great but at that hour we were so tired it wasn’t as enjoyable as it could have been.
Excellent food, perfectly seasoned, delivered with great attention and service throughout. Loved the chickpea gem salad, black cod, lamb ribs, fried chicken and the cocktails
Awesome location, great food, friendly and polite stuff.
It was good we enjoyed the food. Octopus was well a little different then I’m used to being Greek. I really enjoyed the beets.
Great service and outstanding food. Totally worth it!
very good place in the heart of south beach. a place to see and be seen, it delivers quality food. Pirce? not in Miami, where everything is too expensive nowadays
This is my third visit, we come to Miami annually, and continue to be wowed! Food and service was fabulous. Each item was perfect and updated from our last visit. They are the most consistent restaurant I've been to in Miami-Dade. Crispy artichoke and octopus both amazing!
Amazing food, service and ambiance. Very interesting cuisine.
We had a fantastic meal. The food was incredible and the services was terrific. I have eaten Mediterranean my whole life and this food was excellent.
The restaurant is beautiful. The dumplings were incredible. The rest of the food and experience were good, the chicken was dry. Automatic 18% gratuity for a party of 2 and being asked if the table could be cleared after each plate was disappointing, as was asking for our main dish. The tea service on the menu was unavailable. Go for the dumplings and appetizers, but this was not a 5 star experience.
Arthur was an outstanding server. He guided us through the menu and it was quite the taste extravaganza! All staff was attentive and friendly. Food was superb!
Loved everything we ordered which included:
Main course: middle eastern fried chicken, lamb shoulder (perfect for a group) branzino (delicious but a little too small to share adequately). We also had a few starters, including an eggplant dish, a wonderful twist on ceviche, and a type of dumpling. Divine! Sides were excellent too. Highly recommend!
Most delicious food! Fabulous staff. Graciously accommodated my gluten free needs. A definite must-go!!
My girlfriend and I went to Byblos for her birthday in Miami. The service was amazing. The waiters were very attentive and made us feel very comfortable and satisfied. The food was full of flavors! Every single dish we ordered was delicious. We had the hummus royale (couldn’t get enough of it!), the grilled whole branding and rock shrimp rice. Everything felt light but filling and very tasty! Will definitely go back next time we are in Miami!
A bit overrated and overpriced. The couch seating was uncomfortable, especially to sit through a full dinner. I’m only 5’3” and barely had space to put my legs so I can’t imagine a taller person sitting there. The house music was loud so it was hard to have a good conversation with the person right across from me (and sitting low on the couch while the other person was seated higher in a normal chair didn’t help). The service was great and appetizers were delicious, although $20 for hummus is a bit excessive. The jeweled rice and lamb rib appetizer were the best dishes of the night. I don’t recommend the kebab, it was too charred and dry on the edges and we probably left half of it sitting on our plate. If I came here again, I’d order only appetizers and jeweled rice.
Love love love love this place. Amazing food and amazing service. Ambiance is great! Decorations are awesome! Great for a dinner with a group of friends or a date.
Service phenomenal. Food amazing every course. Wish had more room to eat all the apps and flat breads.
