Overall a very disappointing meal from beginning to end. Showed up 20 mins before reservation, wasn't seated until 25 mins after reservation. 19% automatic service fee on everything for extremely poor service. The food was subpar. I have frequented the Toronto restaurant often and had nothing but amazing meals and service! This was extremely disappointing and will not be coming back. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Very disappointing overall. If you have a chance to go to the original Byblos restaurant in Toronto, you should! It is a funky, eclectic, upscale establishment with excellent service. I have been there many times and have enjoyed it on each occasion. I have recommended it to numerous friends and family. Byblos Toronto is one of my favourite restaurants of all time. For this reason, on a trip to Miami, I was excited to find out there was another location that had been established. However, it is a very poor rendition of the original establishment! On the plus side: the menu was almost identical to the Toronto offering, with a few changes. Overall, the food was very good, almost as good as the original. The cocktails were ok, when you eventually got one. On the minus side: the restaurant seems to be in the lobby of an old hotel. It is far to small, with tables packed in in every available space. We came early for our reservation, and were told to go to the bar. Getting service was nearly impossible, we waited at least 45 minutes to get a cocktail, and had to force our way to the bar to get noticed. We were ignored by numerous waiters. There were far to many people in the restaurant, and they seemed to be seating people without reservations at the bar. This led to huge congestion in the bar area, with waiters pushing through, and numerous people trying to order drinks. The two bartenders were working like crazy to keep up. Our reservation was forgotten, despite me reminding the front staff. I had to insist on getting a vacant table, despite the front desk staff’s assurances that they would seat me when a table was available. We were seated around 30 minutes late. When we finally were seated, our waiter was quite pleasant. Our food was quite good. When I expressed my concerns to the waiter, he discussed with the manager, who did not have the decency to come and meet with me. Overall, go to the Toronto location. The Miami outpost is severely lacking.
Overpriced food. Great decoration. The service was good, but the food was not that special, small portions. Luke warm. Pretty basic.
The food was really mediocre and had unpleasant flavor combinations and textures. The Persian kale rice had no kale, was over-the-top crunchy (like chewing raw rice) and the artichoke was cut into minuscule pieces, deep-fried, and had a cloying honey coating. The cod was great, but the beef had a dry crunchy coating that did not work. Our food took forever to come and a dish was forgotten. For such an expensive meal we expected way more.
The upstairs dining room is the better room to be seated in as it is spacious and stunningly designed.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended for dinner!
Got us out of our Italian rut with some interesting dishes. Absolutely order the Salmon!
Byblos is a wonderful restaurant - the decor is beautiful, the service is fantastic, and the cuisine is exceptional. We had the lamb shoulder the had been marinated 48 hours and was served with a variety of Mediterranean treats. I can't say enough about our experience at Byblos.
From the onset it was a glorious experience in respect to ambience , food and service.
Fantastic as usual!!!!
Very cool place - visited last year and again this year . We will always visit when in south beach -
Amazing food and ambience. We loved the dj lounge music
The hummus and pita were amazing! Loved the flavors in the hummus and the pita was amazingly soft.
One of our top dining experiences ever, including many years of travel and dining at highly rated restaurants. We were treated to exceptional middle-eastern items, from unique and delicious salads, to infused truffle rice dishes, and main plates with beautifully spiced short ribs, fabulous complex sauces, and creative presentations. The food was truly a great experience from beginning to end, and to top things off, our server was among the very best. Knowledgeable, outgoing, attentive, and very helpful throughout the evening. I also discovered a new Zinfandel to add to our wine repertoire. The environment is lush, rich, and comfortable. The evening was a 10 plus, on a 10 scale. We chose the right place to spend our Saturday evening. Nice crowd too, and DJ music.
Excellent food, especially the short rib. Service was excellent.
Staff was incredible and so so kind. Beautiful ambiance, lively atmosphere. Fun and interesting cocktails. More of a shared family style place
One of our favorite Miami Beach restaurants! Service was impeccable from the gentleman that seated us to our server and even the busing staff. Food was on point as usual. We love the lamb ribs and the short rib, both to die for!! We will be back soon!!
From NYC and came here for a weekend with my girlfriend and tried out Byblos. Food was amazing. The best we had while being in Miami for 4 days (went to El Cielo and La Mar). Everything about the restaurant was great except for the noise level which is why I am removing one star. I am fine with a lively vibe and music but it was actually very hard at times to hear my girlfriend across the table which becomes annoying after awhile. Minus that and it was great.
This was one of our favorite meals ever... the food is delicious and the service excellent. We shared a salad, pide, chicken and green beans. Over the top delicious!
Food was excellent and service outstanding.
Best food I have ever had. Best service. Great night.
We had a reservation at 830pm but had to wait over 30 minutes for our table. The server only stopped by to take our order and ask us if we need dessert. The portion sizes are not what you think. The menu states everything is family style so we ordered a few items but when we got them, they were so small that we ended up going somewhere else afterwards to get more food. The food was good but one item was cold. The dishes were smaller than my palm. How can that be shareable?? Never going there again.
The restaurant is a tight space and they were over-booked. The manager bought drinks for the table next to us because they were seated so late. They sat four people at the bar for dinner because no tables were turning over. The staff was rude- after our appetizers, asked us if we were ready for coffee and dessert. The staff stood clustered in the aisles, and blocked the flow of customers walking. The food was good, but it was dropped on our tables without an explanation of what each dish was (which is needed with this menu). The manager was trying his best to manage a truly chaotic situation- and this was a Monday night! Would not go back
Awesome energy. Great and creative food. Attentive but unobtrusive service.
Had a wonderful meal.
The atmosphere at Byblos was fabulous, very energetic while being intimate and cozy. The food was truly superb with amazing flavors and variety. Appetizers and small plates were served very quickly and shared around the table so everyone was able to enjoy a number of different tastes. The knowledgable guidance from our server was a tremendous help in selecting dishes and in managing the quantity of food ordered. Overall a tremendous experience.
An experience of itself when you eat here! Food was amazing, ambiance 10/10 (live DJ, great interior design, fun people watching), and we had an excellent server. For food choices, we stuck with server recommendations of hamachi, lamb shoulder for two, crispy couscous, cauliflower, and a honey doughnut/ice cream dessert. All were amazing - my fiance and I live in NYC and have been to Miami multiple times so like to think we're not easily impressed. This restaurant definitely makes our top tier of places we've been in Miami and love restaurants that end up creating an experience of their own. Byblos is true Miami from the DJ house music, eclectic crowd but with everyone dressing to impress, and food that is yummy and at a great price point for what it is. Would definitely recommend this as a date night spot on the weekends, a fun stop before a night out with friends, or before/after a show in Miami.
On a recent visit to Miami, this was by far my favorite restaurant. The staff was attentive and friendly despite being very busy. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything very flavorful and unique. It is hard to pick a favorite, but LOVED the flatbread starter, hummus and all the vegetable side dishes.
Bar in the back was quiet at 7pm, and had a great experience. Great bartenders and drinks. When we were seated at 7:30, food came before drinks and came out of order. There was a back up for our appetizer but the server did not let us know this nor offer to cancel the order when our mains were out already. Not sure I would go back again.
My favorite restaurant in Miami. Exceptional service. Delicious tasting menu.
The food was great but the headache inducing volume of the live music made the night rough
Amazing food, definitely recommend their branzino, chicken and brussels. Staff could have been a little more attentive but we sat outside and it was an overall great dinner!
Amazing servers...they are knowledgeable and lovely. Delicious shareable plates.
Great food! A little pricey but overall wonderful experience
The food is creative and delicious. Unfortunately, I don't recall the name of our server. He went way beyond his responsibility as a server to make our night special! We specially enjoyed the eggplant Kibeh and the crispy truffle rice.
Great place and great food!
Would highly recommend Byblos, as a place to go, for a delicious dinner !
This once wonderful Mediterranean restaurant now has pretensions. The chef produces "gourmet" food but it is not well-seasoned. And, it has become much more expensive. This was our favorite South Beach restaurant. Now I would not recommend.
It’s quite odd that you can’t order off the happy hour menu with your dinner meal. It’s the small things that just make no sense that cause me to never come back to restaurants. Logic should always prevail. The food was amazing and even the bartender was great when we decided this odd rule made us move to the bar to order from not only the happy hour menu but also the dinner menu. Again, makes zero sense that you can’t do the vice versa when it’s in the same space. The waiter definitely had an attitude about it which is never appreciated.
Food was absolutely phenomenal. However, service level was poor. Our waitress Hansa wasn’t able to time our meal well. We were served the first course before we were served our pre-meal cocktails. The poor timing continued through the remaining courses. Wine pairings and courses being served at significantly different times. Made a special meal much less special. The manager, Chris, also did not make a table touch at any time during our meal.
The food and service was excellent
Loved the extra attention due to my birthday
Thank you for the dessert with the sparkling candle it was Epic and you made my birthday extra special :-)!!!
Food, atmosphere and service were all excellent. This restaurant knows how to balance style and sophistication without pretentiousness. Well done!
