By The Docks
I enjoyed the brunch at By The Docks, however, I was disappointed that all of the breakfast meat was pork...aside from chipped beef. It would be a good idea to add some turkey or chicken sausage. Maybe even friend chicken to go with chicken and waffles. Other than that our server was nice despite being a little slow pouring the bottomless mimosas.
This is a friendly, reasonable priced, good food restaurant which I would recommend to everyone.
Marta took great care of us. She was wonderful. We liked not having to wait and being seated on the first level
Awesome as usual. One of the best value buffet is the area.
Steak and Rib night. Service was amazing
Steak was cooked to perfection and priced very reasonably.
Dessert was excellent
The meal was superb in flavor, appearance, and freshness. We had a seafood meal of broiled flounder, 3 large shrimp, and crabcake, coleslaw, crab soup, salad, and cake dessert, rolls all for under $25! I had to take my shrimp, crabcake and some coleslaw home because I was full and wanted to make room for dessert. Delicious!
Great place for brunch. Very popular and unfortunately brunch is loud. Food is excellent. Service even better.
The food and the service was great.
Nice atmosphere, service was good and food was fine. Would I go there again? Maybe. I was turned off by waiting for 30 minutes or so for our table even though we had a reservation. The host was a little rude and didnt apologize for the wait or update me along the way. Instead, I had to approach the hostess again and ask about our table.
Broiled seafood platter and calamari is a must. However warning the crab imperial is topped with a mustard not mayo sauce
Waitress was wonderful and pace of dinner excellent. Never felt rushed.
Went for a birthday and everything was perfect. The crab cakes were excellent as always.
Great menu. Excellent crab cakes and scallops! Oysters Rockefeller were a bit slight on oysters but were good none the less. Service was average but they were pretty busy. We will return!
Everything was great, Our waiter Mike was very good and very attentive. Thanks, PM
My mother’s birthday
We went there for the Sunday brunch. The food was good and the service at our table was relatively ok. We made reservations a couple of days prior but when we arrived (on time) we were led upstairs where there is additional seating at a 4 person table. We asked that we be seated downstairs but was told that there was nothing available for 2 people. When we looked, we saw several 4 person tables that were empty. I saw minutes later the gentleman escorting others to those same empty tables. The stairway upstairs is fairly steep and it's difficult carrying food up. I felt disappointed and curious as to why we weren't seated as we requested.
Great brunch spot with an amazing seafood display. HIGHLY recommend making a reservation for brunch on the weekends. Our server made sure our bottomless mimosa glasses were never empty. Great variety of food, great looking and tasting seafood. The buffet was always stocked during our visit.
Valentine’s Day dinner...limited menu, but still plenty of options!
This is my favorite spot. I will be back again on a Tuesday. I will try again on a Wednesday!
Service was very good. However, the food was not! Had the stuffed lobster. The stuffing (?) was terrible. Strange orange color, very poor taste (lots of after taste) and poor quality crab meat (almost gray). Atmosphere is rather cold and made worse with too loud "popular" music. Will not be back.
The crab cakes were mostly filler and unacceptable. The salmon was good. Service from Carolyn was terrific. Price good. They need to serve crab cakes but mostly filler with crab inserted a bit.
The food was well prepared and attractively presented. It was an ideal location for a "homey" Saturday brunch.
The broiled platter was "divine," as in, it is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
Excellent service and food was very good
As usual, absolute outstanding food and atmosphere. We went there for my Mother's birthday and we wouldn't have it any other place! It probably goes without saying, but the crabcakes are HUGE with plenty of lump crab meat. By The Docks is the perfect place to eat for any occasion.
By the docks is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is always good and the portions are big. The service is just as good as the food. They are very accommodating to big parties and do not have any issues with splitting the checks. They have a good brunch that is reasonably priced and the $10 bottomless mimosas are a hit too. They alway participate in restaurant week and the four course menu that they offer is always so hard to choose from because everything is so good. I would recommend this spot to anyone who wants to love their food and not spend an arm and a leg.
Heather was our waitress, and she was awesome given the fact that the restaurant was extremely busy and there were people everywhere. The food was very good, and Heather was very friendly and courteous. She did check on us more than once just to be sure that everything was okay. We can't thank you enough Heather. Only drawbacks were that it was very noisy in the restaurant, and trying to find a parking space proved to be a real challenge.
We went to By The Docks for my birthday on Saturday, February 1st. It was the last day of restaurant week so the only reservations times that were available for our party of 5 were either 4:30 or 8:00. We made the reservation for 4:30 because we had a small child with us and didn't want to keep him out too late. The restaurant was packed when we arrived. People were waiting for tables both inside and outside. I went to the hostess stand, gave them our name and told them we had a 4:30 reservation. Then I went outside to wait with my party. My husband asked me if they would know we were outside. I wasn't sure so I went back in to tell them we would be waiting outside. They told me our table was ready, and seated us right away. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that they had actually reserved a table for us. I guess the other people waiting did not have reservations. Our server, Leslie was very attentive and gave us excellent service. The food was delicious and came out quickly. Overall, we were extremely please with the evening and would definitely recommend By the Docks! Thank you for making my birthday wonderful!
I have been to this restaurant multiple times and the quality is typically excellent. My girlfriend and I came for restaurant week and were seated very quickly and our server was so sweet. I ordered the crabcake and lamb chops, and my girlfriend ordered the seafood imperial. She absolutely loved her food. My food was good but my lamp chops were small and cold when they came out. I didn't send it back because it was extremely busy (the last day of restaurant week) it was just disappointing because I was looking forward to it all week. Nonetheless I would still go back and give it another chance.
It was my birthday dinner with 6 family/friends. It could not have been more perfect! Everything was absolutely perfect! We loved our server, the food, everything!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere, go about twice a month
Everything was great other than wait. Even with s reservation but I understood.
I want to start by saying that in the past I have had great experiences at By The Docks. We even took my son and some friends/family here for brunch on my son's 21st birthday a few weeks ago. My experience on Sunday, 1/25 was by far the worst I have had here. I had a reservation for 3people. We had to wait for about 15mins to be seated. One of the wine glasses had food on it and the waitress was making excuses instead of just going to get another one. I was charged for 3 lemonades when only 1 person ordered lemonade. The crabcakes (which are my favorite) were not as good as usual...the restaurant has to realize that busy or not you still have to provide superb service and food...
Atmosphere was great
Food was amazing
Service was outstanding
First time there but will not be the last time
The crab cakes are excellent! Our waiter was very attentive.
I liked everything except for the reservations desk. We made a resrevation to be to the place by 5:00 and we arrived an half an hour early had to wait about 45 minutes longer to be seated.
Employees were extremely rude. Had reservations at 5pm didn't get seated till 6:30pm
Dinner plans with friends were anything but nice, quiet or relaxing. To start, the table of 8-10 women at the next table held a ‘who-can-laugh-the-loudest-nonstop-for-the-next-hour’ competition. There were no losers. . .they all won. The food was awesome but. . .had to ask waitress for a ‘clean’ knife, a fork, and a bread plate. Unfortunately, she never asked once if I wanted a drink refill. So, after spending $70 for the two of us, we walked out with dashed expectations of a quiet night and fabulous dinner instead came home with a horrendous headache.
Always a good meal at the Docks. The waitress was attentive.
This place is a gem. The food was Delicious!!!!!!
