Best meal so far. Javier was such a good server. Branzino was yummy. Endive salad was amazing.

The trip to New York was at its end. The family tired, overstimulated and hot, cue BUTTER, a light at the end of the trip, the service was excellent, each bite a delicious new experience. The family is happy and smiling as they savor. The night was magical! Butter and the Met were the best part of the trip. Appreciated for their artistry!!!

What a wonderful experience! Our server was awesome, there was a gentleman who kept refilling my water, and the food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the Parker rolls for the table, I had rhetorical gnocchi mac and cheese, and my husband had the pork chop. One of the best meals we’ve had!

Butter Restaurant offers a beautifully designed atmosphere with a refined yet inviting ambiance, perfect for a stylish dinner out in Midtown. During our visit, the overall experience was enjoyable and worth the walk, thanks in large part to the attentive service and artistic presentation of the dishes. The salmon stood out as a highlight, flavorful, well prepared, and plated with elegance. However, at $40 without a side, it felt slightly overpriced, leaving a gap between value and expectation. The steak, priced at $65, was tender and well seasoned, but unfortunately arrived warm rather than hot, which dulled the impact of an otherwise premium entrée. For a steak in that price range, temperature and timing should have been more precise. On a brighter note, the mac and cheese was comforting, creamy, and delivered hot, likely thanks to the heated serving dish or a finishing torch. It complemented the proteins well and added a satisfying touch to the meal. While certain pricing elements didn’t align with the portions or temperature expectations, the overall experience was still positive. Butter earns its reputation for ambiance and quality, but future diners may want to calibrate their expectations when it comes to price to portion and dish temperature consistency.

The food here is absolutely unbeatable. Everything we ate was fantastic, but the kitchen was very slow. Ordering 6-7 appetizers to split for a table of 6 we were told it could be over an hour before everything came out which wasnt great. The AC is also broken so sitting in a booth where it’s 80° inside was not very pleasant. I hope that can get fixed before the next heatwave because it made the experience pretty miserable

In the food desert around the theater district, the food and service at Butter are excellent. It’s a great location if you are seeing a place at The Belasco theater. It’s is noisy! It is very expensive!

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price Unfortunately, the meal fell flat. Everything lacked flavor, and we left underwhelmed—especially considering the high prices. We ordered: •Veal Bacon – Overpowered by ground mustard, with a harsh vinegar taste. •Yellowfin Tuna Tartare – Very bland; the fish had no flavor at all. •Pork Chop – Huge portion, and the sauce was decent, but the meat itself lacked seasoning. Needed a heavy dose of salt. •Slow-Roasted BBQ Rib – More like pot roast than BBQ, and again, had to add a lot of salt to bring out any flavor. For the cost, we expected much more. Sadly, we wouldn’t return or recommend it.

We had a lovely experience at Butter. After many weeks of traveling around Europe, this was in the top 10 of our best meals! We had the octopus, foie gras, rolls, branzino, duck, peach crisp and beignets. Everything was delicious! We will be back!
