The food was AMAZING. However, the service was a little slow. Still would go again!
I had high expectations as a fan of The Execuitve Chef, but they were not met. The biggest problem was the service. I don’t know if she was just having a bad night but she DID NOT want to be there and made no effort to make our experience memorable in a good way. The air conditioning was broken. Our food was good - which is expected - the highlight were the French fries but overall not the experience I was hoping to have …
Service was okay however the gnocchi Mac and cheese came out lukewarm, the steak came out over cooked, the chef replaced it however it was still slightly over cooked. The duck was over cooked as well but the short ribs were perfect. Overall food was just okay and not worth the price point or what we expected from the Alex Guarnaschelli name
Ambiance was great and the food was amazing! Best cauliflower I have ever had! The value is great for the level of food that you get. Service was good but did get a little slow as more people came in. Attentive when we were there at 6 pm but by 7 pm we were waiting quite a while for dishes or for things we asked for like a menu. Also my husband made a note it was my birthday celebration on the reservation, but he had to remind the server. That being said, the server was nice and the assistant staff (for water, dishes, etc.) were attentive. We would definitely return.
Amazing meal and experience. Food and service was spectacular. We will definitely be back.
Great food. The gnocchi “mac and cheese” was excellent
Visiting Butter was a dream come true for me and I was so afraid I would be let down because my hopes were so high, but I wasn’t. The food was phenomenal. Service was wonderfully attentive but never felt rushed. The ambience was sexy and the noise level was appropriate. Hope to come back every time I’m in NYC.
Such a special experience between the food and the service. Butter has been on me and my sister’s bucket list for awhile and it didn’t disappoint. You get the refinement of fine dining in both food and service but also the comfort foods we grew up with! Can’t beat it
We made the trip to NYC for a family vacation and Butter was one of our must-dos. It was everything we hoped for and then some. Very happy we went.
This was amazing! We can’t wait to go again. The food was delicious (as expected) and it was fun and romantic.
We loved our experience. We would definitely dine there again!
The food was delicious and the service attentive. We really enjoyed Butter and plan to return soon.
Food was good, but took 3 hours to eat three courses and we did not request a slow experience. Not really sure why it took so long, because the server never addressed the issue.
If you have the chance to eat at Butter, DO IT! It was one of the best meals I have ever had. There is nothing crazy or trendy on the menu, just really good food. The portions are very large. Much larger than I expected, I might add. The sides are family sized and made to share. If I ever have the opportunity, I will go back.
The service was lacking and I didn't see many items on the menu that I wanted to try. The server recommended the duck which was ok.
Our first family vacation in NY and we wanted to go some place special to start it out right. We chose Butter because we are long time fans of ICAG and wanted to experience her restaurant. We were not disappointed. Everything was fantastic!! The food was absolutely delicious, well seasoned, well balanced and some of the best we’ve ever had. The staff, ambiance, and service were outstanding as well. It was a great experience and wonderful memory for our family. In fact our 17 year old son (who is considering attending college in NYC) stated when he lives here he will save up his money so he could take a girl here on a first date to impress her. We plan to make it a regular experience on all our future NYC visits.
Butter was amazing! From the service to the food, everything was top notch. We can’t wait to visit on our next trip to NYC!
Had to wait after having reservations but there were 15 open tables. Drinks took 30 mins to come to the table. Food was mediocre at best. A very disappointing dining experience.
Absolutely LOVE the food and cocktails. We have come three times over the past few months. Each time though, the wait service has been spotty. But tonight was the worst. A server who doesn’t seem to want to take care of her guests has no place in a restaurant like this. We had to ask several times for drinks, our appetizers were forgotten, and then brought after the entrees came. Paying the bill took 20 minutes too. And it was all delivered with a tone of pretentiousness. So disappointing - but I’ll keep coming back for the Parker house rolls, strip steak, fries and beignets. The kitchen is doing great but whoever is responsible for the wait staff needs to reevaluate their training and set a higher standard. Oh …. But the bussers…every one of those guys hustled all night long. Maybe train them to be the servers - they certainly had the right spirit!
Something hit my friend’s stomach the very wrong way while eating/drinking here. The spicy margarita was delish, the bronzino was good, the lamb pasta tasted good. The mushrooms side tasted good. Not sure what went wrong with the food but that was unfortunate. Waiter was very nice but inattentive/forgetful and the bussers were overly in our faces, trying to clear while we still had plenty of food to eat. The butter could have been better, and more of it.
The mixed green salad was good but nothing special about. Could have used a bit more dressing though the flavor was very good. The branzino dish was excellent but the amount of green beans was paltry.
Every item we ordered was delicious! We had great recommendations from the staff.
Best mushrooms and scallops ever.
Top end food! We had seafood and it was excellent.
Outstanding food and the gnocchi Mac and cheese is so good-you will cry over the last gnocchi
Great food and ambiance! It seemed a bit understaffed though.
We enjoyed Mac and Cheese, Scallops, Branzino and Asparagus, all well prepared - scallops on the smaller side, not U-10 or U-12 but tasty. Martinis and sparkling wine were good. Service was thoughtful and attentive.
Excellent…… mistake on first question…1 star should have been 4 stars.
The gnocchi mac n cheese was so buttery and flavorful it had a but of a tomato undertone which I did not mind. The bbq beef short rib was melt in your mouth tender, sauce was great everything we had was great!
The food was delicious- the Bronzino was delicate and perfectly prepared. My friend had the roasted chicken and the portion was very generous. That said, the menu is limited and very pricey compared to other NYC restaurants. There’s no reason to pay close to $40 for an entree that’s just as good somewhere else for $22.
The ambience is a little dated. It needs an update. I’m sure Butter was hopping pre-COViD, especially at the bar. But, whatever chemicals they use to clean the dark wood paneling is very strong and competes with the flavor of the food and overall experience.
At times, the service was slow, but our server was friendly and helpful.
I’ve wanted to see what the fuss was all about for years and I’m glad I tried it. Can’t say I’d go back or recommend it, though.
Service fell behind expectations. Food was great, but we felt almost ignored at times. All other service personnel were very friendly and helpful.
great atmosphere, delicious food, would highly recommend
Get the rolls! We debated not getting them because it seemed too basic but we’re so glad we did. Yes the pork chop and short rib were delicious and probably the best I’ve ever had but the rolls were outstanding. Would definitely recommend it and would go back. If you don’t have time to go sit down at least get the rolls carry out
My rating says it all. Excellent all the way around.
Beautiful restaurant, wonderful service and amazing food.
Reunion of old friends
Food was terrible- steak was tough, it did not meet our expectations fir the price or the name. So disappointed!!!
The food and drinks were amazing! I loved the scallops and Branzino! So yummy! And the signature cocktails were so different and great!
The food was amazing, like the rolls!
So good! And everything else we ate.
The service was attentive and helpful!
Butter was everything I hoped it would be as I am a huge Fan of Alex Guarnachelli. Everything was absolutely Fabulous and we will be back!
