Butera's Restaurant of Woodbury Ratings and Reviews
BUTERA’S has always been one of our favorite restaurants. It’s got its act together.
Our reservation was honored on-time, despite others waiting. Our server knew the menu and made some recommendations. When he wasn’t sure about the beer specials, he promptly brought over a “expert” who described in detail the differences between the two brews. Our dinners were delicious, as they always are. There is a nice choice of salads to start. For our main course, the four of us made varied choices. The pistachio-crusted salmon with leeks and mushrooms was superb. The lasagna special was delicious, as was the shrimp parmigiana. The beef ragout with gluten-free pasta was great. Portions are generally large. This is a rather noisy restaurant when it’s busy...this was a Saturday night. But, diners enjoying good food and drink are happy people, and should be!
Food was good but the noise level made it sooooooooooooooo tough to hear each other. It was a special occasion dinner and really was spoiled by the noise level. And I asked for a quiet table. Don't go there if you want to communicate. a perfect place to eat dinner with each other and look at your phne all throught the meal because you cant hear each other.
Went to Butera's on an early Friday night. The server Matt was very attentive and offered helpful suggestions. We started with the sliders and Pizza. Everything was great and plentiful. We followed that with several entree's all of which were very good to great. We enjoyed Butera's Rigatoni and the Steak. Been going to Butera's a long time and have never been disappointed.
We go the Buteras often. The quality of the food is great and the prices are reasonable
The main complaint is that they do not honor their reservations. We had a 7:30 reservations however we were not seated until 7:50. They do not hold a table for you. They give you the next table as it becomes available. If the people at that table decide to sit around a while longer then your wait is longer. This happens each time we go because not all seating requires reservations. People off the street put their name on a waiting list so this effects the wait time of people with reservations
The food here was excellent. I had a pasta dish with shrimp, mushrooms and escarole. I highly recommend this particular dish. My guests were equally satisfied and I've never been disappointed here. My only concern is that the noise level is so high that it's difficult to hear your guests. Otherwise it was a great experience.
On our recent visit, the fire alarm rang intermittently for at least an hour without explanation, apology or compensation from the restaurant. The fire company arrived and left much more quickly than our orders did. When it did arrive, the food was tasty, but the service was slow and inattentive. Overall, a terrible experience.
Reserved a table for a group of friends for someone's birthday. We were seated for 15 minutes when I received a call from the restaurant asking if I still intended to show up for my reservation. The fire alarm went off repeatedly for the last 45 minutes of our meal, and during the constant shrieking, not once did the establishment offer to buy us a drink, give us a dessert, etc. Food wasn't bad, but wasn't anything special. Won't be returning.
Always love going to Butera's even though it's a good distance from us. Well worth the drive! The food is consistently great and portions are large. Servers are all attentive, especially Matt. Met Seth, the new manager, and wish him the best of luck; real nice guy!!
Food was great. It was terribly loud and couldn't carry on a conversation at all. Ordered drinks before dinner. They arrived, but minutes before our food showed up. They pack way to many tables in here. Ordered a second drink and it arrived long after the meal was over. Server was overwelmed. Its really to bad because the food was excellent. Can't say as I would go back.
I have been to Butera's many many times and have never been disappointed but I was Friday. The newer menu is poor compared to the old one. The veal eggplant was absolutely horrible in flavor and presentation. Menu stated "in a Marsala sauce" but was a brown gravy. Will not be retuning anytime soon.
We were meeting friends from out town; request for table was honored . Although we had a new waitress , she did her best but did fall short in several areas including getting the orders incorrect , delivering drink orders. Service was just ok . Please bring back some of the old menu items as in penne eggplant and warm asparagus salad.
