We've been looking for a restaurant that we could say was outstanding. WE FOUND IT at BUTARAS !!!!!!!!!!
Enjoyed a great meal at Butera's in Sayvile. The food was exceptional. We were two couples catching up after not seeing each other in a long time. The cadence of the meal was good - we did not feel rushed, nor did we have to wait too long for attention. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Manager's description and recommendation of the chicken scarpiello was spot on. We also loved the complimentary cannellini bean humus and we ordered more of it. We also enjoyed the pasta vodka. Don't be taken aback by the prices as dishes are served family style with enough to feed two or more. You can get individual half portions for slightly more than half the price. We ended up with leftover dinners for the following night. The drinks are also somewhat unique and well prepared.
Consistently good food from start to finish! We ordered however a dish that came out incorrectly twice not sure if it was a misunderstanding in the kitchen or the waitress. In any event they were nice and very apologetic and amazingly the manager Glen comped our entire meal as a result. Not expected at all as we would have paid for the appetizer and wine that we also ordered . The place is a neighborhood gem as well as ambience.
Consistently Awesome ! The wait service and bus service were right on!
Will definitely be back😊
As usual nothing to complain about. I have gone here several times with different people, never a complaint. Keep up the great work
Chicken franchise excellent
The steak gorgonzola very tough we have had the steak many times before and loved it.
Good food great service
Butera’s is always a great place for large gatherings. The food and service is consistent. We always enjoy ourselves when we go there. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
I had Easter dinner with my family. Extremely pleasurable meal. Service was polite & our meal was delicious. The second time in three years I have chosen Butera's for our Easter meal. I recommend the Seafood Marinara with Fra Diavolo sauce.!
Have never been disappointed with dining at Butera's. Food is always fresh and delicious. Daily special are an innovative suprise. Family style or individual portions are always ample and provides enough for another meal to be enjoyed another day. If you don't see it on the menu, ask. Definitely make a reservation and arrive early. You won't be disappointed.
I have been here several times now. I try something different each time. I have never been disappointed.
We dined at the bar as we usually do at most restaurants. Typically a great way to meet others and not just confined to your own table. This was Good Friday as we observe no indulgence in meat. We dined on seafood Fra Diavolo and a side of Rigatoni. Along with a nice bottle of Cabernet it was a terrific evening as regular locals joined us at the bar for dinner.
Bob (one of the owners) came out to interact with his guests as well.
Jeremy and Heather (bartenders) were awesome as always. Great job by the entire staff at Buteras!
Very comfortable with excellent service. Portions are family sized and sharing dishes increases the dining experience. Well done!
Food was good service was poor. We were there for about 2 hrs with a party of 2 and had to ask for bread after the first 30 min there while still sitting with menu in hand, no drink order was taken and when the waitress finally came to the table we had to wait another 15 for our drinks. The next time that we saw our waitress was after our meal was completed. I was finally able to order a second drink then which I would of had more. We had our water glasses filled once the whole time. Service really sucked
Food excellent, service friendly and efficient- an excellent place to dine.
We have been to Buteras many times and always enjoy the food .. the
Whole dining experience was wonderful
Was there for a birthday dinner for my daughter. There was 6 of us, food was great, service was great value was great. Everyone enjoyed their dinner no complaints, been there before and will return again. Very happy
The service here is wonderful, the food is great too - very rich....which is terrific at the time! but then the next day...not so much. I paid $3.00 for my daughter's coke - which is pretty steep in price. Most everything there is pricey though, chicken marsala which was four thinly sliced cutlets in a brown sauce with some mushrooms...$40?? The food portions are huge - it's not my first family style restaurant, but I can't get over the waste and although I enjoyed the evening, I'm very aware of the portion sizes, the pricing and the after effects. No offense to Buterra's, but we probably will enjoy lighter fare, lighter pricing and indulge less elsewhere in our surrounding towns.
Very happy with the service and that it was not too crowded. We’ve dined at Buteras before and it has consistently provided great wait service and good food. Never disappointed.
One of the friendliest staffs on Long Island! They make you feel like you live there!!
Never disappointed going here to eat here
Always take friends and family here and it's always a hit. Wish they had more gluten free options. Especially in the dessert depatment.
Each thing they brought was better than the next. The waitress was VERY accommodating to our dietary restricting
Really good quality seafood, very well prepared.
Always an enjoyable experience
Food was okay. For the price I would have expected better. The restaurant needs renovation. The wall I sat next too was disgusting and needed paint. The ceiling tiles in the drop ceiling had mold on then. The house Cabernet that I paid ten dollars a glass for came out of a $6 bottle. Unless the place makes some major changes we will not go back.
Valentine’s Day celebrations
Food was wonderful. Bring a sweater it is a little cold inside.
I have been to Butera's many times before and have found it to be consistent and a good experience. I don't typically go out on Valentine's Day and so perhaps it was the chaos of the day that led to this disaster. We made a reservation on OPEN table two weeks in advance to secure a table and upon arrival were ushered to a folding table set for two ( not three) where two of us had to straddle the table legs uncomfortably. We complained and were told told there was nothing else and settled in, then were later uprooted by a nice matre'd to another spot. we ordered the goat cheese salad which we have had before- we were three people and it came literally with two pieces of goat cheese on it-but it was good. There seemed to be a big lull in service when the kitchen seemed to back up and food was not coming out. Our waitress seemed to dodge our table as our wine was gone and still no entrees. When they finally arrived they were not even hot. We skipped dessert and asked for the leftovers so my 84 year old mom could have a few dinners from them. We had basa and eggplant parm. When she got home and opened them, they turned out to be someone else's food - shrimp and a pasta dish. She was turned off to say the least. Hoping this was an anomaly !
We love Butera's and dine there a few times a week! The staff is great and accommodating!!
The main courses were excellent and the service superb. The wait for our table very minimal (1/4 glass of wine) and the atmosphere pleasant. We had a small table so the staff went out of their way to create space using a table cloth over a tray & try holder- made a world of difference. Only issue was we believe a mistake was made on the shrimp appetizer - shrimp cooked great but WAY TOO much salt- lip puckering amount. We believe mistakes can happen and will definitely go back again.
Very good food, large portions and reasonably priced
Excellent food and service. Every time we dine at Butera’s it never disappoints. Bravo!
The food and the service were exceptional. We had the goat cheese salad, calamari, veal parmigiano, seafood platter with merlot. What a great meal! Congratulations to the chef! Can't wait to return!
Reservation was made for a Saturday night at 5:30. Table was very cramped for a party of 6 people. We were seated across from the hostess station. It felt like they took a table for 4 and crammed 2 extra chairs in. When we asked to move to a different table, we were refused even though there were available tables at the time of the request. A misunderstanding by our waiter caused our party to basically eat in two shifts. It was a shame, because the food was excellent as always.
The food was ice cold. Waitress was just ok - not super attentive - won’t be back
I always have a great meal at Butea's and the service is very, very good!
Love that it’s family style, you get to try a number of different dishes.
The menu was confusing, the waitress explained that everything is family style, large portions for two people, but for 60% of the price you could get a half portion. I didn't care for the food, the individual portion was small and ordering was very confusing. Rather than ordering something I may have enjoyed we all tried to order something that could be shared. I left hungry!
