Butcher's Chophouse Ratings and Reviews
They stress to show early. Bar is WAAAYYY understaffed. 15 minutes to get a drink. They stated they would come get us in bar when reservation came open. Instead called cell phone. Missed call due to noise. Agitated when we finally checked ourselves. Meat ok. Sides disappointing. Brussels sprouts - they do not know the meaning of crisp. Ambiance was not a PC feel - more like a Ryan’s steakhouse.
The food was great! We had the calamari to start and it was to die for! The fried lemons were such a fun addition. The prime rib was cooked to perfection! I do wish that my brussel sprouts were cooked a little longer. They were quite raw still. Our server was new I believe so she was gone quite a bit but overall it was good.
The food at Butchers was quite good. The lamb chops were exceptional and the appetizers and salads were solid. The service was even better with a very attentive server. The only issue was the wine selection and pricing. For an upscale Park City steak house, the selection was limited and the prices were considerably higher than what you normally see, roughly 3 times the state liquor store price. We typically see 2 to 2.5 times mark up.
I’ve only been to Butcher’s once before for a drink and a side order. This time my husband and I went out on a date night together. They had two for one special on Saturday. They have a good menu with several gluten-free options to choose from. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and she was able to tell me which items I could eat. My husband who doesn’t have gluten issues, was also very happy with the food. The steaks were grilled perfectly. We really enjoyed this restaurant for our date night.
We've always had a great dinner at Butchers. For Thanksgiving dinner, we naturally assumed the turkey dinner wouldn't let us down. Funny enough, all 7 of us ordered the Flat Iron steaks. We never ordered the turkey, although we heard it was good. The Flat Iron is hard to pass up!... so is the Bread Pudding and Carrot Cake! We had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner, although quite uncharacteristically Thanksgiving-ish.
I had a nice dinner there but it was a step down from my expectations. This was the first time I received a tough ribeye. The flavor wasn't as good as always, maybe they have a new chief? I will try it again down the road but left a bit dissointed. I didn't complain because it's never worth it. Hope your meals are better than mine.
Food was great, especially the ahi tuns poke app and the prime rib. Our waiter Charles was attentive to our needs. Exceptional specialty drinks and they offer a two for one entree when you order an appetizer or dessert. Would go back again.
We come to the area from Florida and have been here twice this year. We really enjoy the food and ambiance. But this time we sat at a full booth with our 5 year old son and my father in law. The booth was plenty big length wise and could have for a person each in the end but the sitting space was so small. We had to move the table for my husband and father in law to squeeze in by then the table was pressed up against me and was too tight to sit there and eat. So We switched booths which was a little better but just overall felt uncomfortable. I'm on the small side too and it was awkward. So maybe see if you need to remove a booth to make more room or remove the booths and use tables.
I have been to the Butcher's Chop House several times, but this visit was terrible. We arrived for our reservation at 7:45, and the hostess had no idea we were coming. After waiting about 10 minutes, we agreed to sit outside because the weather was great and the inside was a furnace.
Our wait person was Emily, who came by to bring us water and get our drink orders. She brought our drinks and some bread, and took our order. At that time, we also asked for additional butter and for someone to turn on the gas heater.
We did not see Emily again for 45 minutes.
Someone did arrive with our appetizers about 10 minutes in, but no butter, no heater, and no water or drink refills for well over 45 minutes. We asked another person to please track down Emily, and when she did arrive, she acted as if all was completely normal.
The food was okay, but they were out of prime rib which is what we went there for in the first place. I ordered a New York medium rare which arrived medium plus. No one even bothered to ask if we were happy with the order, so I could not complain.
I know I am not being too critical, because the folks next to us were given their meal for free because they had waited so long. Of course, there was only two of them and seven of us.
All in all, it was really poor service in Emily's part. I hate to attack her like this, but if she does not improve She will not get tipped and the restaurant will suffer.
Myself, it will be a while before I try going back, and I will make sure to ask for anyone but Emily.
Great restaurant. We ate outside on the patio with a large group. Usually service suffers a little with large groups, but not at this restaurant. Charles took great care of us. There was a outdoor wedding going on from the neighboring venue. Thus, the moderate noise level. But it added to the ambiance and vibe.
Great 2 for 1 deal in summer. Wife and I each had the 12 oz. prime rib dinner with mashed potatoes and spinach, 4 glasses of wine, and split the Swiss chocolate sundae. All for $75 (before gratuity). Great deal for Park City. Will go back...great variety of entrees.
As part of our vacation to Park City, we planned dinner at Butcher's Chop House and Bar on our anniversary. In our reservation request, I referenced our anniversary celebration.
We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 and were seated. There was no reference to our anniversary--most higher end steakhouses get this right but Butcher's stumbled here. In hindsight, this was a sign of things to come. The hostess mentioned Butchers was having a 2 for 1 special and our server would provide more details.
Nick H was our server-he arrived and introduced himself. He failed to mention anything about the special referenced by the hostess. I'm not sure if the restaurant had any specials that night---Nick didn't mention anything nor did he explain the 2 for 1 special referenced by the hostess. I will say the other servers seemed more engaged with their tables.
My wife ordered the King Crab while I ordered the 12 ounce Niman Pork Chop. My wife asked if it was possible to crack the crab legs in the kitchen-Nick advised the chef could not do that since doing so could "contaminate" the kitchen. This was a first I heard--when this request has been made to other restaurants, the request has been honored. I'd like to say that Nick checked in to see how things were going but he disappeared for parts unknown.
As noted, I ordered the 12 ounce Pork Chop medium well done. The menu described medium well as "slightly pink" in the middle. The chop was VERY fatty--I'd guess at least 8 of the 12 ounces was pure fat and inedible. It was also cool/very pink. I would have mentioned this to Nick or anyone else from the restaurant but alas, nobody stopped by.
The side dishes were uninspired--mushrooms and broccoli.
Nick dropped off the desert menu but there was no comments about a house specialty--it was a basic desert menu--we passed on the desert. Nick finished up his horrible service by dropping off the bill without saying thank you--just a "here you go".
