My wife and I had a really nice time. It was our first time there, we were recommended by a friend and will definitely be back again. The food was great, the service was great and we had a great seat.
Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Everything about our dining experience at Butcher and Singer was perfect. Without question, one of our favorite restaurants to eat at while we’re in Philadelphia. Can’t wait to go back!
I really wanted to love this place, especially considering the total of our check at the end of the night. The Ambiance was fantastic, the service was great, and the food was very good. All that said, the price point is staggering. We looked at the menu before going and had an idea of the price point, however, did not realize that a $47 steak did not come with any sides and you had to spend another 25 to $30 how to get a vegetable and a starch. Charging that much money for a piece of meat and nothing else is obnoxious and we will not be going back.
As expected, our experience was exceptional. Obviously it’s elegant, and food is delicious. But, service was really above exceptional. I can’t say enough about the high level of service. Very well managed.
Excellent meal. Attentive but not overbearing service.
Restaurant was amazing. Very nice atmosphere where you felt both enchanted by the elegance and architecture, yet set at ease (if you’re not used to this as I am not) by the extremely friendly and helpful staff. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough if you want a nice night out.
Celebrating my Wife’s Birthday
4th wedding anniversary - from check in to the end, stellar service!!
Absolutely fantastic evening from start to finish our server Jeremy was amazing food was outstanding wine selection was superb
It’s Always a wonderful experience at Butcher and Singer. The food is always perfectly prepared and the service is top notch!
Food and service was excellent. Seated at last table in front od kitchen so it was a little noisy at times
Best restaurant I've ever been too. This was my 2nd time there & we actually had the same server. (Matt) great guy explain foods very well, recommend things I'd you don't eat a specific good. He's great..
Bread AMAZING!!! Steak best I had ever. I wish they kept the lobster mac & cheese.. However their Mac & cheese was great as well. Overall A1 establishment I enjoy it every time I come.
Everything was amazing from start to finish Absolutely the best steak , great staff wonderful atmosphere
Great atmosphere, excellent service and meals were top notch.
Food was awesome, but I felt rushed and judged for asking for more bread twice.
Fine example of a great all round Steakhouse!. The fillet was perfectly prepared, severed piping hot on a warmed plate, and the service was excellent. Their house Manhattan cocktail is a great starter. We'll be back, next time.
Delicious food, great service! Butcher and Singer is one of my favorite spots.
Outstanding food and service
Birthday and date-nite with the wife. Was totally blown away with the level of service and absolutely professional to a tee. Having worked in, and managed a restaurant in the past, I know what to look for and the staff here could easily be trainers for other restaurants. My Delmonico steak was done to perfection as well as my wife's Salmon. If there was anything I could have added or changed would have been a couple of extra dessert plates as both my wife and I were trading samples back and forth - it was soooo good! Is the restaurant a bit pricey? Yes, but worth every penny IMHO.
Everything was great. Matt, our server, was excellent.
My partner wanted to go to a steakhouse for his birthday and Butcher and Singer was great. We are college students and are not accustomed to fancy food. We had a great time. Our waiter was kind and knowledgable when helping us choose our meal. Overall we had a great time.
everything about the restaurant was top-notch. My wife had the shrimp and crab louie salad which was excellent I had the French onion soup which was the best I've ever had. My wife had the filet cooked medium rare I had the filet mignon cooked medium rare oscar style with the bearnaise sauce asparagus and the lump crab meat . The meat was prepared perfectly had an exceptional flavor and melted in your mouth it was that tender. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had a special raspberry Baked Alaska which was also very good. If I was going to say one somewhat negative, it would be that the establishment with someone on the noisy side. But that's also because it was exceptionally crowded.
Wonderful experience. Food was wonderful. Our waiter was very knowledgable and attentive. Truly enjoyed the experience
Great food and ambiance
Butcher & Singer ranks highly among steak restaurants I have eaten in around the country. The stuffed hash brown potatoes are a uniquely wonderful treat. I will return any time I’m back in Philadelphia.
Over the top! The best filet I’ve ever had. Melted in my mouth. Our server Corey excellent. Can’t wait to go back.
A wonderful meal to celebrate a special occasion. Perfect in every way. Thank you.
Outstanding in several areas. Friendly reception, steady attentive service, check in by manager. Truly great steak tartare, best I’ve had in quite a while. Very good escargots. And the entrees of NY Strip and lobster tails were very fine. Nice wine choices, particularly with Sancerre available by the glass. And a good crime brûlée to finish. Not inexpensive, but worth it.
Food was outstanding and served very well. Staff attention was exceptional and could not say anything bad about it. The bronzino was done to perfection.
It was an absolutely perfect dining experience made so by our excellent waiter and superb cuisine!
After being seated we had to wait to order cocktails. Had to finally ask busboy yo get the waiter. We could hardly hear each the noise level was so high. We ordered a 32 oz Porterhouse for 2. No way the steak we got was 32 oz or for 2. Each time we asked we were assured they were always weighed out. No way it was worth the outrageous price they charged.
I generally like these types of places. I ordered a cocktail, my server took over 20 minutes to bring it to me. She might have noticed i didn't have my drink had she ever checked in on us. When I said something about it she didn't even acknowledge she forgot it. The dinner was out of sync and we had to send one steak back because it was severely undercooked. At nearly $300 for dinner I expect my $60 steak to be cooked to temperature, and I don't expect to have to chase up my $16 drink. To top it off there was a toddler screeching in the dining room. The parents and toddler should have been asked to leave. I was not impressed at all with my dinner and experience tonight. It is not what I am accustomed at a Stephen Starr place.
Great food. Very good service. Décor is lovely. Danielle did a terrific job. Wine a bit over-priced.
Everything we had was delicious.. love the atmosphere
Simply outstanding at every level. The food and service were perfect. The staff are all very pleasant, attentive but not overbearing and the room is elegant. Save room for a specialty dessert such as Baked Alaska!
I love going here for lunch it is such a peaceful experience and the fried shrimp is delicious!
5 stars for all categories and a wonderful experience....but a word of caution.... dinner for two with a couple cocktails will run you $250+....
Excellent overall dining experience, great steaks cooked to perfection. Huge side dishes portions. Unduly expensive wine menu not value for money. Truly outstanding service up to best found in our extensive travel foreign and domestic.
