Our first time and it was excellent. When we come back to Philadelphia we will certainly book a table. Wish we lived closed we would come more often.

Fantastic evening.

This was my second time at Butcher and Singer and it was just as good as the first. My New York strip steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. The caesar salad and sides (asparagus and stuffed hash browns) were excellent also. Service was spot on.

This was my first time eating at Butcher & Singer and can definitely say it will not be my last. The service was great. My waiter Matt & waitress Amy were wonderful and very attentive. The food was excellent and the wine pairing Matt suggested was perfect for our meal. It was a wonderful experience all around. 5 Stars!

It wasn't the first time I have been here and I must say that I still haven't been disappointed. I celebrated my first anniversary with my girlfriend and they were extra attentive and she was very pleased. Thank you again for a amazing time

The best branzino I have ever had, simple treatment but perfectly cooked and seasoned. The house chopped salad was fresh and delicious as well. Our very poised waiter made sure our food was timed to allow a leisurely walk to a performance at the Kimmel Center. Highly recommended!

I went here with my family for my graduation dinner.

Great restaurant! Steak was fantastic, chicken was great, and the calamari was AMAZING.

Probably would not eat there as often as I would for an Olive Garden or Cheesecake Factory simply due to the price.

But that is what makes this place so special to test yourself for a special occasion and excellent quality!

Hostesses that greeted were very welcoming and friendly. Thumbs up to them. Hostess that sat us seemed annoyed when we asked if another table was available. The response should always be pleasant; the young lady should always say that she would be happy to check on that; she needs to be retrained. Noise level is too high for us, but quieter than a lot of other places. It was my birthday, so they brought glasses of champagne for each of us on the house i think, but maybe not. it was brought in the wrong kind of glass - the wide circumference glass that was used in the sixties and seventies that would now be used for a scoop of ice cream. Our waiter: very pleasant, very eager to make the experience a good one for us, but he speaks too quickly. We had to ask him three times to say the specials more slowly. It was hard for him. He just needs some practice, but we liked him. On the other hand there may not have been enough help and he was rushing to take care of too many tables. I don't know. In general, the table was not bused by staff in a professional way. Reaching over guests, removing some plates, but not others.... a sloppiness to it. Just seemed to us that some retraining sessions might quickly correct everything. The food was all very good. And I enjoyed the evening.

I ordered the 8oz filet mignon cooked medium. It was overcooked and dry and way too salty. The calamari dish had more pieces of pepper than actual calamari. Heard so many good things about this place, but I was so disappointed and will never go back again. It was so bad, it’s hard for me to believe we are the only ones that have had this experience. The only good thing that came out of our 300 dollar meal was the biscuits that I could have bought from the grocery store for 2 dollars.

We dine at this place every now and then. We have tried every steak of them. To be honest, their steak is okay, not the fantastic ones. Other food is decent but you may find better ones at other places in the city.

The reason we still go their is the good service and atmosphere they have.

We dined at Butcher and Singer to celebrate our nephew’s college graduation. Ricky, our waiter, was exceptional as was everything about B&S. The steaks were among the very best, if not the best, our group has ever had, and the ambiance of the restaurant and its history, special and unique. Highly, highly recommended.

Decent Chop House. Manhattan was overly bittered. Shrimp Cocktail was 4 shrimp (not 5) , medium sized and one needed cleaning. Steak a little heavy on the salt. Morton level prices and okay quality. Wait staff was unrelenting in their upselling. Nothing remarkable but nothing horrible either.

This was our 2nd visit to Butcher and Singer and we were absolutely taken away again by the amazingly wonderful food and classy ambiance. I brought my husband here as a surprise for his “40th Birthday” on Cinco de Mayo. We we so glad to have our favorite server, Jeremy L. who does a fantastic job with everything from answering any questions to making you feel so welcomed! The Delmonico and Filet Surf and Turf were our main course and were both delicious. The Bees Knees has to be the best cocktail I have ever had! This has to be one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced and anyone who doesn’t know about it should! Looking forward to out next visit at Butcher and Singer!

This is the second time I've been to Butcher and Singer and it did not disappoint! Always a perfect place for a special occasion or just a nice dinner. The steak is always delicious, the crust on the Delmonico is perfect.

Our waiter was amazing, loved his attitude and professionalism. He didn't know it was a birthday night, so after we had already ordered dessert, he found out, and brought us another dessert with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the side. He also took care of us with recommendations on food and how best to order the steak.

The appetizers and sides are amazing as well. Calamari is always a hit for us, and asparagus is gigantic. The hash brown has sour cream and potatoes inside a bird's nest of hash browns that are baked to a crisp.

Overall, great place to go, and it is definitely a place that's always on my list to go when I'm in Philadelphia for a special occasion.

Delicious food & great service makes it a go to restaurant. My opinion, not a restaurant to bring babies & children.
