Surprisingly, a disappointment after eating here several times a few years ago. No longer a must eat for special occasions.

We were in Philadelphia to drop our youngest at college and wanted to have a nice meal together as a celebration. This hit the mark! Excellent cocktails, wine and food. Service was outstanding. Thank you!

One of our two steaks which were to be cooked Pittsburgh Rare was not done correctly. Needed to be sent back was very good when eventually served. Table for two probably worst two top in whole restaurant. Facing the kitchen. Could actually hear staff yelling out directions. Always wonder why in half open restaurant on a Monday night they seat us at that particular table. Servers very friendly and helpful. Food and drinks great. Look forward to our next steak dinner

Experience was fabulous! Rickie and Corey made the experience with fantastic service and professionalism. I have visited many steak houses in Philadelphia and this was my favorite. Food was well worth the price. If you like red wine and old fashions this place will exceed your expectation.

Restaurant was recommended by a friend. Not sure what happened that night, but their was five of us and all were disappointed in our food. Filet was very bland!! New York was fair at best. Service was very good. With all the great places to eat in Philadelphia, I’m not sure we will return.

We had our anniversary dinner here and as usual it was stellar! Food was great, service was amazing (thanks Corey) and it was overall a perfect evening. I ate filet while my husband got the surf and turf. We shared some starter salads and sides (singer fries are a MUST). If you’ve never been here it’s definitely worth the trip.

My wife and I wanted to try a new special restaurant. Her favorite restaurant is Defresco's and mine is Barkley Prime. Butcher and Singer is the perfect combination of what the other two restaurants have to offer for a romantic dinner.

Beautiful room, with attentive service. Pricey steaks and just not the best Philly has to offer. Capital Grille and Del Frisco's double eagle beats Butcher Singer hands down with meat quality. Perhaps one needs to eat the $125.00 tomahawk steak to get a good steak. The delmonico was not the best. The steak knife is serrated and tears the meat as opposed to slicing it elegantly.
Go for lunch and have a burger at the bar...a much better value and quality.

Our visit to Butcher & Singer was amazing! Our waiter (can’t remember his name) was very kind, energetic, helpful, and had some good recommendations. We will be returning (especially for the biscuits)!

Our first time here, the waiter was distracted and never asked us if we wanted a drink from the bar when we were seated, I had to call him back to ask to order a bottle of wine when we ordered our meals, the appetizer was rushed and taken away before we were finished and our meal was cold. We both ordered filet which was luke warm at best and was too aggressively flavored with salt for me to enjoy. I assume the app was rushed because our meals were ready and sitting in the kitchen. Our reservation was at 6pm, we were seated by 6:05 pm and the waiter had the check on our table by 7pm. We still had 3/4 of a bottle of wine to drink and he was back by 7:02 asking if the check was ready. The restaurant was not full at this time so I didn’t expect he needed to the table that quickly. Even if the restaurant was booked, I would never expect to receive service like that at this caliber of an establishment. This restaurant certainly didn’t live up to its 5 star rating and was very disappointing. We usually frequent Davios, Ocean Prime or the Capital Grille, so we expected the same 5 star service and experience, this was diner quality experience and service at best. Would not recommend and will not return.

Food is fabulous, ambiance is very nice...This was our second time here....first time our server was outstanding, was disappointed with server we had second time....seemed aggravated and was pushy in the sense of making us feel rushed to make selections and order. I will definitely return, but ask for specific server next time.

I was so overly stuffed; however, I shared the Porterhouse for two Oscar style. It was an amazing steak, prepared to perfection. I also had the crab cake appetizer with apple slaw that was phenomenal. I could pass on the Caesar salad next time. Was nothing good about the salad besides the large portion size. My bottle of water was $7 and I couldn’t take it with me because of the top. I only had a half of glass out of it and left the rest. Our waiter was excellent and it was a beautiful relaxing ambience. The baked Alaska was great as well. I will definitely be returning.

We had never dined here and we had a great experience and we brought an 18 month old! Our server, Ricky, made this potentially stressful situation a fantastic evening. The porterhouse for two was fantastic and we had a baked potato to share and spinach-all al la carte. The baby was eating everything and thankfully everything was fine. We really enjoyed the restaurant but some of the prices were exorbitant. Porterhouse for two was $90.00 and the baked potato was $11.00!

This was a special meal out for us while in Philadelphia on business. This place is stunning. The service was warm and attentive. The food was incredible. We had steaks and they were delicious, just perfect!
(Only drawback was the low, cushy chairs/benches on wheels. Comfortable but not good for dining.)
