Butcher & Singer
Food was off the charts amazing experience will definitely come back
Great food and great service!!
To be honest we never have luck on Valentines Day, I don't know why I do it to myself. This could have been a real disaster, but the food saved the day.
We started nearly an hour late to our reservation time due to traffic. I called to let them know 3 x...to their credit, they took great care of us and got us in.
Not the best table for 2, but it was fine.
The noise was out of control, not intimate at all, the high ceilings and table layout...Barcley Prime dining room more imtimate and special. Also, I know the restaraunt has not control, but the place is getting straight up ghetto. Dress code needs to be enforced because it honestly looks like drug dealers are coming in off the streets...
To the service. We were stuck with a new waitress. She was pleasent but everything took a while and she had to keep asking about questions we had. For this ticket price, service needs to be well rained and spot on.
The food... My NY strip had to go back as a medium came out blood rare. Fortunately within minutes the steak came out perfect and was "Vegas Celebrity Chef" quality, something you just dont get around here. It was the best strip I've had in a while. My wife's scallops also were initially cooked too rare, even after sking to be cooked through, but the return provided perfect scallops. Salads, shrimp cocktail, wines by the glass and cocktails were all fantastic.
For a higher end steak and seafood house this is a tremendous value for quality. $200 not including tip and we were a prime 14oz NY steak, 6 U10 diver scallops, appetizer, salads, 2 cocktails and three glasses of wine in. Impressed with the food and value.
Keep the trash out and I might come back.
We spent Valentine’s Day and had a wonderful experience as usual.
I found the food to be average for the $238 I paid to eat there.
Our first time here and we absolutely loved it. Everything was really perfect. Can’t wait to come back!
Amazing atmosphere and amazing food. The steak was incredible and cooked perfectly.
Ordered the Porterhouse for 1 and temperature was perfect, but it was almost inedible given the amount of salt added. The Chef(s) is/are very heavy handed with this particular condiment at B&S and I’ve actually had to mention it a couple times before when ordering the fries that accompany the Butcher Burger. If you’re not a fan of excessive salt dominating your palate, make sure to ask for light (or no) salt on anything you order or you might possibly have a similar experience.
Best steaks we have ever had!
I was in Philadelphia for a meeting and my colleagues wanted a good steak house. THIS IS IT! The steak was unbelievably delicious, sides were great, wine list outstanding. The service was just as outstanding as the food. The ambiance takes you back to another place in time circa 1920's - really cool.
If you are in Philly and craving steak I highly recommend Butcher and Singer
We enjoyed our server Drew a lot. He was great. I do feel as though we were celebrating a birthday and a complimentary dessert or drink would have been nice since we did spend $600. I know many other restaurants in the area would have done that. A bit disappointing. It's a simple gesture especially after having spent A LOT of $$ on dinner.
Another steakhouse in a cool old building. New York strip was excellent, halibut was ordinary. Service was very good. Nice ambience, dark snd cosy. Mostly executive diners on expense accounts.
Butcher & Singer is always phenomenal. Arguably the best steakhouse in Philly.
Always love coming back to Butcher. Had a new server Drew who was absolutely fabulous!
Our waiter was fabulous! The restaurant was amazing. Steaks were good, but not sure they were as good as the price dictated, but good none-the-less. Veggies were great. Stuffed hash brown a bit over done. Dessert was most excellent. I would honestly recommend Butcher & Stinger. It was a great experience!
Really great service!
Absolutely phenomenal from the drinks to the food to the service!! A must go to if your from the area and ask for Drew, BEST waiter we've ever had!! A+++++++++++++
The food and the service was outstanding. Will make this our "steak house". For those going to an evening production at the Kimmel Center valet your car at the restaurant and walk the three short blocks to the theater to save yourself a few bucks and some time after the show. (ask for Matt to be your server)
AMAZING– loved the entire experience and the food was amazing!
Best of the Best! Hands down! Don’t go anywhere else!
Our server Drew was awesome!! We were there two years ago and he remembered us!! He is super friendly and extremely attentive.
The food was also great! We will be back for sure the next time we are in town.
Wonderful food and service.
Very expensive, but the food was amazing! Excellent service and beautiful ambience.
Our server Molly was great!! She was very personable and humorous.
Our Server Jeremy is the best - we can't wait to go back and request him again
Very solid Steakhouse! Great environment, restaurant is beautiful, service is very good!
The best restaurant experience we have had in quite a while. Our server, Jeremy, was incredibly helpful and added to our overall experience. The atmosphere, including the jazz music set the stage for our steaks which were perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The homemade dessert was the icing on the cake.
Excellent experience. We arrived late, thinking they were not going to be able to seat us, but they made an effort to fit us in anyway. The server seemed a bit rushed at first but then as dinner went on, everyone was very attentive. The atmosphere was grand, the seating very comfortable, and with enough room between tables that we didn't feel cramped like so many other city restaurants. We could talk to each other without straining or being distracted by other table's conversations. Our steaks were perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and the appetizers and sides we had were exceptional. A bit pricey, but, it was worth it.
Absolutely phenomenal. From start to finish. Excellent cocktails. Excellent food. Our waitress Molly was a total rockstar. Can’t wait to be back!
Table of 7 (and a 4 mo. old baby, perfected behaved, of course) for my son's 30th b'day. Top notch service. Food perfectly cooked. Perfect evening.
My experience was absolutely awesome. Great food and service!
Our first time here, and we love it and we will be back. Food and service was great .
The biscuits were magnificent. The meat was excellent. Service was good.
Great food. Convenient location.
Typical steakhouse food but the high quality makes the price worth it.
I had a great time, the food is amazing!! Try the crab cakes!!
Excellent steak, service and atmosphere. Best Old Fashion I’ve had in Philadelphia.
My wife and I loved our dinner at B&S. Our main server was Chris. Very attentive and made excellent drink recommendations. We had the porterhouse for two and several delicious sides. The porterhouse took a little longer than expected so Chris arrived at the table with a shrimp cocktail on the house while we waited. Well played B&S. We will be back again for sure.
Food was delicious. Service started out strong and dropped off after we ordered. Food runners ran both courses and our drinks sat empty for over twenty minutes. We didn’t our server again until the end of meal. We didn’t stay for dessert or a nightcap because we were so frustrated with the lack of service.
We had an outstanding meal with impeccable service. Highly recommended and request Brian as your server.
Love the ambiance. Amazing quality of food. Noise level was great too. Waiter might have been a little pushy but overall left a great impression.
