Creative dining in a friendly, cheerful setting. The menu exudes creativity, starting with over a dozen options of Mezze (starters?), small played for $5 each. We tried several to share at table: hummus, grilled radishes, spicy carrots, beans (like faves tonight). All were delicious!
We always enjoy the food here...fit for a refined or informed palate and always interesting and fun. Our chef daughter from NYC called it excellent and she is very particular. Great veggie options and wonderful layered and nuanced flavors with unique ingredients.0
Very welcoming. Service outstanding and food was great
The boyfriend and I took the advice of both a family member and a travel blogger and could not be any more satisfied! Everything was spectacular. And I quote the boyfriend ‘best fried chicken I ever had’. He’s a 49 year old foodie.. that says a lot! Thank you!
The food was excellent and the service was just as solid. Great restaurant.
Great service & loved being seated in the back room. It was a great valentine’s day Date. Love the fact that our waiter was so accommodating & helped tell us about the choices.
I had a dinner here with coworkers and everything was excellent. One co-worker is vegetarian and they had several options that were very tasty!
They have a wonderful variety and unique offerings. Service was great as well!
The food was very unique! The vegetable were all very good and the bread was amazing! Seared quail was a little over cooked. Drinks were delicious. Highly recommend the bourbon mule. Service was engaging and excellent. It was my first time so I went on a date, but I think it would be better for a more casual occasion or a big group.
Great food. Fantastic environment and great wait staff.
Super fun atmosphere, very good food, we didn’t realize it is Mediterranean cuisine until we got there and ordered and the food was quite good. Fish, steak, kabobs and chicken were all very very good. Very modern but still quite classy.
One of our best dinners in years and we travel and eat well from our hometown nab in Brooklyn to Venice, Italy. Veggie mezze offerings are brilliantly executed as was the kebab and steak mains. Jordan B is an outstanding server. i would happily return to Butcher & Bee on a weekly basis if I lived in Charleston.
The chef made great food. The service staff were great. We were a party of 8, We made the noise.
They should consider adding a few more tables that accommodate 3-4 people. We waited for over a half hour. Persons/tables of 2 who arrived well after us were seated way before us. Maddening. The menu was very small and limited. Food was decent but not worth the wait, overall experience, or expense. I'm from NYC and I don't expect to pay NYC prices for mediocrity.
Amazing honey with whipped feta and suggest to try the beet gnocchi. Our most creative and delicious meal in Charleston.
Such a cute place! The service was great and the food was delicious. They do not over book reservations so the service is superb! Super cute inside. We got to sit at the chef counter and watch all the food be prepared. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. The tapas style was unique and perfect for a date night or girls night. If you haven’t tried it you are missing out!
Waitress was spectacular.. sense of humor and professional. Food was fantastic.. and will definitely be back again. Will try outside but was too cold
Amazing food & outstanding service from the moment you walk in & until the end of dessert. Our server, Caleb, was phenomenal! He really helped us hone in on some final options for a shared meal/apps, & is incredibly knowledgeable about the cuisine & beverage program. Fantastic vegetarian options too, which is perfect for my family of picky eaters :)
The Food is crazy delicious, definitely get a trio of the mezzes (the whipped feta is glorious!), & I encourage sharing everything since it’s so hard to choose between all their amazing options. Not to mention the prices are awesome too!
The ambiance was fantastic, great decor & I love an open kitchen so I can see the buzz in the back of the house.
Highly, highly recommend!
Most amazing spot in Charleston!
Appetizer deal 3 for $15 is so great. The bacon wrapped dates were amazing and the Beet and Ricotta Gnocchi was really something different. Also, the cocktails were bomb.
4 of us were originally seated at a table for 2. Once a 4 top opened up we situated ourselves at it and from there all was good. Great selection of small plates. Whipped feta with pita was especially different and delicious. A very enjoyable, comfortable, and delicious time.
The food here was delicious, if just a little pricey. The atmosphere could use some work. Besides being freezing cold, it was LOUD. We went there hoping to catch up with a friend, and that was a waste of time, we ended leaving without dessert or coffee and going somewhere else, so we could actually hear each other talk. If you are going for the food, with good service (it was), I can recommend this place. If you are hoping for a relaxing dinner talking with friends or a date, I say keep looking.
Wonderful spot for our wedding anniversary. Incredibly helpful staff, and delicious menu. Highly recommend! Thanks!!
We tried Butcher & Bee on a weekday night and it was pretty quiet. The service was great. Our server was attentive, gave good recommendations and was very nice. The whipped feta was by far the best thing we ate. I could just eat a bowl of that stuff. The hummus was also really good- some of the best I’ve had. Super creamy. We liked our entrees. They were good but we liked our apps better. Cute restaurant. I’ve heard it’s great for lunch so would try that too.
Great shareable small plates. Everything was delicious! Lots of fresh & vegetarian options!
Love the food, great service, only complaint is music (selection and volume). My opinion is it was more suitable for a bar than a nice restaurant, then again could be I am getting old. Despite that minor complaint I definitely recommend and will return myself.
They were very helpful with identifying foods we could safely eat with severe food allergies. Had a great understanding of allergies and ingredients! Waitress was charming, informative and efficient Would highly recommend!
Overall amazing experience here. Truly enjoyed the food and ambiance. The creations on the menu were delicious and well worth the price. Waitstaff was friendly, not overly zealous yet happy to answer any questions and prompt
Excellent food! Plan to recommend to friends and family.
Great food, interesting menu. loved the small plates. good service.
Always a perfect experience! The food is amazing and the service is wonderful! I can’t wait to go back!
Loved the small plates... and the whipped feta is an absolute must. My husband described it as the best app he has ever had.
I love Mediterranean food but this place left a lot to be desired. Dessert was good and so was the ambience.
Very creative menu heavy on vegetables and legumes. Farm to table meets Israeli meets tapas!!! If your a meat and potatoes type of person, probably not the place for you, but if you enjoy trying a variety of creative combinations of food Butcher & Bee needs to be on your radar. They also have a nice selection of pastries and bread available to purchase, and as we were leaving we were offered items that they still had available as a parting gift. Highly recommend the chocolate, peanut butter strawberry croissant!
I loved the food. Their Middle Eastern food options are amazing. I loved the lamb kebabs and I loved the spicy carrots.
I LOVE Butcher and Bee! When my husband asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, I immediately said - take friends to Butcher and Bee. I was the only one in the group who had eaten there before. Everyone loved everything. We had all of the Mezzes (which I HIGHLY recommend), seared tuna, the eggplant extravaganza (because 2 of us are obsessed with eggplant) and English pea pancakes with shrimp (I wish I had some right now). We also had 3 divine desserts - a creamy chocolate thing, goat cheesecake and buttermilk tres leches cake.
Creative selections and high quality, fresh ingredients. Very pleased with flavorful dinner!
This was one of the best meals I've had. The whipped feta with honey and pita are perfect palate starters and the chicken shawarma was incredible but the diamond in the crown was definitely the goat cheesecake. If you eat anything at all, eat that!
The food is wonderful - I have tried to replicate the whipped feta at home but it's just not the same - just have to keep going back for it. Staff are very knowledgeable and we valued their recommendations. Lamb was delicious. They really treated us on our birthdays.
Nice mix of small plates and entrees to choose from. Most of their food is house made and we did order 3 of the mezzo appetizers - hummus, whipped feta and falafel. The hummus was good but not special, whipped feta with honey was delish and the falafel was not outstanding - it had some hard crunchy chickpea parts in it that I did not particularly care for. We also tried the roasted eggplant/lemon that was tasty. We shared the kabob platter with lamb and chicken and this was where the kitchen really shined - the meats were so tasty, juicy and cooked just right - the gremolata with lemon and parsley was very tasty. The only food item that didn't quite live up to my expectations was the pita bread as it was house made - I found it a tad dry and chewy - not as much flavor as expected, but still nice. Overall a good experience with friendly service - we'd go back.
