Butcher & Bee opened in Charleston in 2011 with the mission of serving honest-to-goodness sandwiches made with flavor combinations and food quality usually reserved for fine dining. That dream has grown beyond sandwiches to a bigger location on Morrison Drive, offering a larger, more diverse menu featuring locally sourced mezze, vegetables and proteins, beer, wine and cocktails.

This was our first time at the new location...my family and I recommend highly!

Excellent food! Although the phatty cakes were missing. The pastry chef that made them had moved on. Really wish she was still there! Missed having that for dessert!

B&B fit the perfect niche for meeting friends for a light dinner with a local atmosphere....and with no wait time. It's obvious that care is taken in constructing a menu with some local, seasonal favorites and in a creative way.

Good place to hang out with friends for a beer or wine and tapas style. Limited menu but food and service were good.

May be trendy and popular but was stuck at bad table with very average food that followed. Very disappointing!

Underwhelming on all counts. We were so looking forward to our dinner given the reviews and recommendations from others. Our server was indifferent and somewhat rude. The wine was warm and the clams were so salty, they were inedible. The mezze was the best part of our meal with very good falafel and grilled radishes.

We enjoyed our dinner at B&B, but it was a hike to get there. Relatively small menu but the flavors were great. The mezzie appetizers are fresh, innovative, and a tasty start to the meal. The fresh catch was deliciously prepared in a unique sweet potato curry sauce. The kebabs were well grilled and ample. The only ding, other than the distance, was the ambiance, particularly the seat cushions on the cloth booth seats were noticeably dirty. We would go again, however, as it’s worth the trip.

Loved this restaurant on our first visit. The food is creative and flavorful. The server was very knowledgeable and helpful in making recommendations. While not in the best of neighborhoods, it has a great vibe and was easily accessed by Uber. Definitely can recommend this restaurant and look forward to our next trip back.

Our first experience at Butcher and Bee was amazing. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. I want to go back sooner than later for more bacon-wrapped dates, kale salad, and kebabs. Drinks, appetizers, dinner, and dessert were all really, really good. Parking was easy and the level of noise wasn’t too bad, although we did notice it getting louder as the evening went on. You should definitely go.

The food was amazing, but sadly our service was really subpar. We were seated without menus and had to wait nearly 6 minutes before our server stopped by for drink order (and to realize we didn't have anything to review!) Our food was delivered straight from the kitchen, so that came out very timely, but my husband's second beer never made it to our table (so we just finally asked the waiter to cancel). Once our check was delivered, our waiter once again was MIA to take it away, so we had to flag down another staff so we didn't run late to our event! Our dinner started at 5:30 and we didn't get out until 7:15...the restaurant was only about 50% full for most of the meal, so it was totally a service issue, not a kitchen issue.

Amazing food, mix of Middle-eastern, locavore, and nouveau American cuisine. Flavors well balanced yet approachable for a more timid palate. My husband & I read a review in our local newspaper, Newsday Long Island, just after booking our trip. We will definitely dine there again. Bravo.

Food is overly spiced. Fresh local shrimp don’t need a forest fire of spice. Waiter was rather rude when I sent back my dinner and did t even ask if I would like something else. My husband ordered his fish medium rare and it arrrived well done. We paid our bill and left

It was nice to step out of historic, downtown Charleston to try this very cool place. The drinks were perfect and the flavors of everything were unexpected but right on. The food is super fresh and the overall ambience is equally refreshing and relaxed. I definitely recommend especially if you are looking for fresh, local ingredients.

Creative dining in a friendly, cheerful setting. The menu exudes creativity, starting with over a dozen options of Mezze (starters?), small played for $5 each. We tried several to share at table: hummus, grilled radishes, spicy carrots, beans (like faves tonight). All were delicious!

We always enjoy the food here...fit for a refined or informed palate and always interesting and fun. Our chef daughter from NYC called it excellent and she is very particular. Great veggie options and wonderful layered and nuanced flavors with unique ingredients.0

The boyfriend and I took the advice of both a family member and a travel blogger and could not be any more satisfied! Everything was spectacular. And I quote the boyfriend ‘best fried chicken I ever had’. He’s a 49 year old foodie.. that says a lot! Thank you!

I had a dinner here with coworkers and everything was excellent. One co-worker is vegetarian and they had several options that were very tasty!
They have a wonderful variety and unique offerings. Service was great as well!

The food was very unique! The vegetable were all very good and the bread was amazing! Seared quail was a little over cooked. Drinks were delicious. Highly recommend the bourbon mule. Service was engaging and excellent. It was my first time so I went on a date, but I think it would be better for a more casual occasion or a big group.

Super fun atmosphere, very good food, we didn’t realize it is Mediterranean cuisine until we got there and ordered and the food was quite good. Fish, steak, kabobs and chicken were all very very good. Very modern but still quite classy.

One of our best dinners in years and we travel and eat well from our hometown nab in Brooklyn to Venice, Italy. Veggie mezze offerings are brilliantly executed as was the kebab and steak mains. Jordan B is an outstanding server. i would happily return to Butcher & Bee on a weekly basis if I lived in Charleston.

They should consider adding a few more tables that accommodate 3-4 people. We waited for over a half hour. Persons/tables of 2 who arrived well after us were seated way before us. Maddening. The menu was very small and limited. Food was decent but not worth the wait, overall experience, or expense. I'm from NYC and I don't expect to pay NYC prices for mediocrity.

Such a cute place! The service was great and the food was delicious. They do not over book reservations so the service is superb! Super cute inside. We got to sit at the chef counter and watch all the food be prepared. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. The tapas style was unique and perfect for a date night or girls night. If you haven’t tried it you are missing out!

Amazing food & outstanding service from the moment you walk in & until the end of dessert. Our server, Caleb, was phenomenal! He really helped us hone in on some final options for a shared meal/apps, & is incredibly knowledgeable about the cuisine & beverage program. Fantastic vegetarian options too, which is perfect for my family of picky eaters :)

The Food is crazy delicious, definitely get a trio of the mezzes (the whipped feta is glorious!), & I encourage sharing everything since it’s so hard to choose between all their amazing options. Not to mention the prices are awesome too!

The ambiance was fantastic, great decor & I love an open kitchen so I can see the buzz in the back of the house.

Highly, highly recommend!
