Food was amazing and the waiter me and my wife had was just as good as the food if not better
Excellent service and amazing food! Burwell’s never disappoints. Personal favorites include their Moscow Mule and the Wagyu Hanger Steak.
Best steak, best service. It was Valentine's Day and pretty busy but we never felt rushed and the meal did not have that assembly-line feel you sometimes get on such an occasion.
This wasn’t our first time, but this occasion was for Valentine’s Day 2018. The Wagyu steak is amazing! The deviled eggs are amazing! The cheese cake is amazing! The servers were very knowledgeable about the menu and though we like to explore different restaurants, I think we will revisit soon.
Best steakhouse in Charleston! Everyone always raves about Halls Chophouse but obviously they've never been to Burwell's. Everything was delicious, and the steak really melts in your mouth! Dessert was also very good!
We tried Burwells for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised. I had the Wagyu hanger steak which was very tasty and tender (didn't really need a knife to cut ) and cooked to perfection. My husband also enjoyed his steak. The deviled eggs were to die for! A must try if you are going.. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. We would definitely go again.
Awesome steaks and service as usual, enjoyed the dimly lit ambiance .
I’ve dined here with clients, friends and my husband and they never disappoint! Food is always on point but the service is even better. Terrific wine list and great cocktails too!
awesome food and service
The best steak in town, seriously’!!Great service and a comfortable ambiance. We will def go back again!!
Not up to Charleston standards - more like a chain restaurant.
We loved everything my husband said this was the best birthday he had!!!! GREAT HOSTESS GREAT FOOD GREAT WAITER EVERYTHING WAS GREAT
Burwells is an extraordinary steak in a sea of ordinary options when it comes to beef. The WAGYU beef is "cultivated" for this restaurant and is simply one of the best steaks I've ever had. The initial "smoke" in the steak took me by surprise as it is fairly strongly smoked (wood fired), but after the initial shock, I enjoyed the texture and flavors very much. The sides were amazing; roasted brussels sprouts, mixed vegetables and mac and cheese. If you want the most tender piece of beef (there are several selections!) outstanding service, and nice wine list, GO to Burwells! You will not be disappointed. Only the pricing caused me to give the restaurant an overall (very good) instead of outstanding. Then again, I'm not sure there is another restaurant in Charleston that serves Wagyu (it's a cross of KOBE and ANGUS, as I understand it).
Had to wait 15 minutes after arriving despite a reservation. The hostess kept saying she had to check with our server before we could be seated. I’ve never had that happen before.
Seating is limited, but it was incredibly loud. There was even a guy in the back yelling across to people at other tables.
The food was alright, but definitely not worth the price. Our original reservation was for Ruth’s Chris and we thought we’d rather go to a local place. We should have stuck with the original plan. It truthfully wasn’t much better than Longhorn.
