Burwell's Stone Fire Grill Ratings and Reviews
A place for outstanding steaks and great service. Someone in our party asked for something that they did not have. A little while later our waitress brought it over to our table and informed us one of the owners had gone to another restaurant close by to get the item. That is SERVICE! We have been to this restaurant before while visiting Charleston and will go back again whenever we are in town.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary in Charleston,SC. It had good reviews on several sites, so we gave it a shot. The wait staff was very kind and knowledgeable of their menu. They sat us off to the side on the second floor, which we both liked and made us feel like it was more private. Our waitress was Meg and it was her second night there and she impressed me aswell with knowledge of their menu. We both had alcoholic beverages with our meals and they poured them well at the bar, which is great if u ask me! We both got steaks, since that was their specialty there. And they also brought us a surprise and free desert which was very delicious might I add. I recommend if you want an awesome steak to visit this place!
My rib eye was cooked like it was just done in a pan. No seer and a little tough. Disappointing. I had heard good things about this place so maybe down the road we will try again. maybe just a bad night........ My wife's filet was excellent and the dessert was over the top. I will give them that....Service was a little slow. I think we were at the mercy of a big group because our server basically disappeared on us a couple times which is really a big factor in going to any place to eat. In many resturants in Charleston we have servers that we always ask for.......That will not be the case here.
Our table wasn't ready on time, one of the steaks was a little over cooked, and they also forgot that it was a birthday dinner. Other than that it was really good, and the steaks were really good despite one being more of a medium than medium rare. I wouldn't recommend the cheese plate appetizer
The whole night was a 10. Steaks were phenomenal in taste. Unfortunately Both were a touch on the Medium Rare side (but the flavor made up for it). My wife got the filet (med) and I ordered the NY strip (med). The 5 cheese Mac and cheese was perfectly cooked (just a bit al dente). The mashed potatoes were delishishly creamy and seasoned well. This spot is our first choice downtown and recommend it to everyone looking for a great steak and a perfect night out. We will be back soon.
An extraordinary restaurant. Possibly the best filet mignon I have eaten. The staff was very attentive and professional. We dined there on Thanksgiving day and although it was very busy at no time did we feel neglected. Will definitely return when we are back in Charleston.
Enjoyed a quiet meal with my son for his birthday. Ribeye was cooked to perfection and well marbled. Sides were generous...I had the brussel sprouts and they were fantastic. The check was a little bit hefty for a $$ restaurant... more like a $$$. But it was still worth it....
I loved this resturant. We went there for our 2cnd anniversary. Walking in there is this warm but vibrant atmosphere that makes this great. Not too much light but not fun enough. We arrived 20 minutes early and they were able to accomodate us. It got busier towards 7pm. Our waiter, Jeremy was amazing. He knew the menu, he knew the background, like they use local farmers. He went into detail about the steaks.
We had just watched a cooking show about wagyu beef and when we saw it on the menu, we had to try it.
The steak came out on a beautiful set up plate. See pictures. Words can't do justice to how good the steak was...tender, temperature, flavor, presentation, this steak exceeded any expectations we had.
They even brought us a dessert for our anniversary. It was either the manager or higher came over to our table twice. This resturant will change the way you see service, food and atmosphere. We loved it. I'm not going to say anything about the price, because I would have paid twice for the experience we had. We will be back. Loved it!!!!
The steak was great but the service left us jaded and we likely won’t return. The server built a high expectation as to what the experience was going to be however they were slow to get our drinks, brought out the wrong sides and disappeared after our entrees were out. We ended up tracking down another waiter to pay our bill. For a meal over $100 it was a very underwhelming experience.
Burwell's was everything all the reviews said it was... a Fantastic Steak house.
our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the different cuts which led me to an awesome wet aged NY strip, while my wife enjoyed a flavorful Filet Mignon, both dishes had that great wood fired grill taste. the plates were tastefully splashed with the chefs art design of a seasoning and sauce. we had the mac n cheese (Really Good!) too full to order dessert, but our server snuck a dessert sampler on our table and we enjoyed every bite. all this along with handcrafted cocktails, the Dine was Fabulous! the décor is chic and yet casual. the manager mark came over and introduced himself and inquired about our meal. our server Kathy was excellent and made sure we were taken care of from the moment we sat till the time we waved goodbye. definitely a must do next time yall in Charleston,SC
Great service right off the bat. The steaks here are amazing Wagyu beef, cooked to perfection. They have a “Hot Rock” appetizer where they bring premium beef out with a lava rock at 700 degrees and you put the meat on the lava rock with sea salt. It’s delicious.
Then comes the Wagyu Hanger steak. Wow. Perfect, tender, and seasoned just right. There’s not a lot I can say other than you have to try the steak. It’s worth every penny.
I had the coconut cheesecake and my wife had the s’mores desert. It’s worth the trip just for the amazing deserts!
This place is absolutely worth making a reservation and driving downtown!
The food was delicious! Our waitress was very good especially since it's really hard to find a restaurant with good service in Charleston. Their steak was also very good; it just melts in your mouth! Way better than the overpriced Hall's Chophouse. Will definitely be going back!
Try the 700 degree hot rock, cook your own appetizer. Quite a treat and fun.
Loved their signature Manhattan which has a classy presentation.
The aged ribeye was one of the 3 best steaks I have had in my life.
We went for my buddy's birthday dinner and he was absolutely blown away.
The food was absolutely phenomenal! And the wait staff were so friendly and knowledgeable, even offering us a free glass of wine that he thought would be a nice pairing with our steaks. We will definitely come back there again! It is a little pricey but well worth it!
Went there for our anniversary and couldn't be happier. The drinks were great and the deviled eggs were outstanding. Both of the steaks were cooked perfect and could be cut with a fork. The waitress was extremely nice and accommodating. The owner or manager even stopped by a couple times to make sure everything was as expected. Can't wait to go back.
