So pleasantly surprised by Burwell’s! I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but fabulous food, service, and drinks. Will definitely be back when we’re next in Charleston!
The service was not overly attentive. I had to ask for a refill on my soda. My scallop dinner was 2 medium and 1 small scallop on grits and spinach greens. My fiancee's was the hangar steak which was the nice but we weren't asked how we liked it cooked (medium well) and it came to us rare. Cobb salad was delicious. Just should have stuck with the main course.
We enjoyed out time there!! Our server was excellent, he took a ton of time to explain everything to us, then JUST chit chatted like we had been friends forever!! Also Congrats on your new baby!!! We went for my big 40th Birthday! We absoulty loved the lamb chops on the lava rock and I can't remember the name of the steak we had but it's their signature steak and it was wonderful, so tender you could have used a butter knife, also the 5 cheese mac & cheese was great to, it smelled incredible!!! All the way around it was a fabulous meal! We will certainly be back!!
It was just okay. nothing to write home about. don't think we will be going back for a while. Burwell's need to "pump" it up a bit to stay with all the other restaurants in Charleston.
The food is the star, and is very good. I had one of the best steaks of my life, and I have had a lot of steaks. The sides were all great, and the beer waa local and cold. The service was attentive and helpful. Overall very pleased. My new favorite spot for steak in Charleston.
As always the place is beautiful. I was a bit disappointed with the food selection. Since they change their menu constantly, one of my favorites wasn’t on the menu. But my food was still good yet a bit cold when it eventually came out.
Service was awesome, food was amazing. Thank y'all!!!
My husband and I ate here for our Anniversary. Definitely worth it! Benedict was our waiter and he was awesome! Definitely plan on going back again.
Great adventure in dinning, we were not excessively hungry, so decided to try small plates, beef and lamb cooked on hot stones at the table (oil free fondue), great, as well as the deviled eggs. We'll be back on our next trip to Charleston.
First time eating here and definitely won't be the last! The staff was very friendly and our waitress was very knowledgeable regarding the different types of beef. The deviled eggs were incredible and a must have for an appetizer. My husband ordered the Hot Stone Wagyu beef as his entree and we loved the concept. He was able to have his beef as rare as we wanted. The parmesan fries tasted like a funnel cake and were delicious. I ordered the 8oz filet and it cut like butter!
Great service and great food! Our waiter was very accommodating and they have a very nice wine list and cocktails as well. Easy parking right next door, was a great evening at a great place!
Always amazing food! Never disappointed!
We had a wonderful experience. We were in town from Atlanta and found this location on trip advisor. What a great find it was. We had several different types of steak. Mine in particular was the tenderloin that I cooked on the Hot Stone. It was the most delicious steak I have ever tasted. That along with everything else was delicious and the customer service was top-of-the-line. This is a must go to restaurant.
Excellent service by waiter will, great drinks delicious filet mignon and Mac and cheese
Great ambiance down stairs. Very friendly staff. We were seated up stairs. Room was nice but hallway to the room was very junky.
My husband and I were extremely happy with our dining experience. It was the very best meal we have had since moving to SC from Boston. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful but always gave us time and space to enjoy the ambiance. Highly recommend! Thank you!
Great evening, we will return again soon
Fantastic hanger steak as usual, with an upscale meal in a casual environment.
The service was too slow — the waitress did not visit our table for over 30 minutes & we waited longer that that for our entree while others that were seated after us received theirs. Overpriced food, especially with ala carte entrees, and overrated food! I could have grilled a much better ribeye at home — and have! NOT small children friendly — only have two high chairs - as we were told - and only one of them had working restraint belts.
Service was great! Wagyu Filet was not as flavorful as should be. Charleston Smores are a must have. Ambiance was great except for one table that was loud.
This was my first time ordering Waygu and it was amazing! Also, be sure to try the strawberry cheesecake!
Great food and service was impeccable!! Only problems were the noise level, my wife and I had to yell at each other across the table. The other was the bathrooms could be a little cleaner for this type of restaurant. Wine list was great with a great price range for all types of wine and cocktails were great!! I feel this is more of a casual kind of place and would be good for groups of people but as far as a romantic date this is not you place. The steaks are next level good!!
Promptly got seated within 5 minutes of out reservation time. Waitress was knowledgeable.
We got Filet Mignon. Both very tender as they should be.
Incredible food with awesom service. The Wagyu filet was the best steak I have ever eaten
A great find! I've never had the opportunity to dine at Burwell's and finally tried them out this past weekend. It might seem strange for someone that doesn't eat beef to love this place but the seafood options were fantastic! I had the flounder dish, which was amazing, and my husband had the Diver Scallops, which he said were very good. I highly recommend the Tuna Wontons for an appetizer! Can't wait for our next visit!
What a great dining experience! Great service, food prepared with well sourced ingredients!
Go for the Wagu steaks !
Loved the atmosphere .... Not stuffy!
very welcoming staff.
We would go again!
Food was amazing and service on point. Waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time and would definitely recommend.
Food was amazing and the waiter me and my wife had was just as good as the food if not better
We were very pleased with the food and our waitress was probably one of the best. She went through the menu and explained everything since ordering was a little different from some places. I would go again.
Steak was very fat and underdone for my liking and not much taste
My family took me there for my Birthday and it was superb. Service, food, drinks and staff were first rate.
INCREDIBLE! This is our favorite Charleston restaurant. We never miss a night or two while there.
We enjoyed the evening very much!
Excellent service and amazing food! Burwell’s never disappoints. Personal favorites include their Moscow Mule and the Wagyu Hanger Steak.
Best steak, best service. It was Valentine's Day and pretty busy but we never felt rushed and the meal did not have that assembly-line feel you sometimes get on such an occasion.
This wasn’t our first time, but this occasion was for Valentine’s Day 2018. The Wagyu steak is amazing! The deviled eggs are amazing! The cheese cake is amazing! The servers were very knowledgeable about the menu and though we like to explore different restaurants, I think we will revisit soon.
Best steakhouse in Charleston! Everyone always raves about Halls Chophouse but obviously they've never been to Burwell's. Everything was delicious, and the steak really melts in your mouth! Dessert was also very good!
We tried Burwells for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised. I had the Wagyu hanger steak which was very tasty and tender (didn't really need a knife to cut ) and cooked to perfection. My husband also enjoyed his steak. The deviled eggs were to die for! A must try if you are going.. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. We would definitely go again.
