Food was great, server was nice, only negative was we had to wait 10-15 minutes past our reservation to be seated when there was open tables in the dining room.
We arrived and was seated at 8:15 and left around 11:00. We received our drinks at 9:00 and appetizers at 9:45. We finally decided to order more than one drink because everything took forever. The garlic butter on the steak was still frozen. The manager only checked on certain tables and neglected the rest. Beautiful place but terrible service!
We enjoyed our meal as usual. We was celebrating our 11 anniversary and a dessert was brought out but we was charged for it. I would have chosen something else since we ended up paying for it.
Service was great as per usual. However, over the past few years the food has declined in quality. There was once a point where Burwell’s bone-in tomahawk ribeye rivaled any in the city. Those days are gone. Steaks are still good with a unique grill flavor but meat quality and size has suffered slightly. Still, the steaks are your best chance of success as the rest of the menu is uninspiring the not worth the cost. My wife had the swordfish special and it was very small portions, no crust or sear of any sort. Almost a boiled consistency. Also had the oysters Rockefeller and I would never consider either again even if it was offered for free. The deviled egg appetizer is unique and tasteful.
Our favorite Charleston restaurant. The Burrell.s staff is terrific and the meal is awesome!
Great service and great food! Pete was awesome!
The hangar steak and mushrooms were outstanding! Nicely priced wine menu. Our servers Meg and Megan did a great job. And oh my, the pork belly appetizer delicious!
Excellent food and service
Teresa was so attentive and a 5-star ambassador for Team Burwell’s. Sean has built a loyal and dedicated team. Kudos!
The atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. Service was excellent. Our food was outstanding. We had the Waygu beef hot rock appetizer. It was delicious! Deviled eggs and pork belly appetizers were both very good. Husband had the duck and I had the tournedos. Both excellent! Will definitely go back here again.
I have to start with, my 17 year old daughter is a picky eater and this is her "New Favorite Restaurant" she loved it. I loved it. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. We ordered dessert and when we got it, my daughter wasn't a fan of it, so she brought her a Nutella cheesecake and my daughter fell in love with it. They didn't even charge us for it. That was so nice of the restaurant.
The Wagyu hanger steak was impeccable. It MELTED in our mouths.
You will not be disappointed, make your reservation NOW
My wife and I go here a few times a year. Great place to go when you are in Charleston.
Wagyu appetizer cooked on hot rock was amazing! Shrimp and scallops were good. Service was friendly and prompt. Nicely decorated inside.
Amazing as always! Thank you Burwell's!
Food flavors were just not very good. Those in my party were in agreement. Not bad but not good either.
Really disappointed that the menu I researched online was not available at restaurant. Also pricing was very high, portions small and nothing notable about the meal. Very disappointed.
The food was excellent. The server was very attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to someone who wants to have an excellent meal. One of the best meals I have had in quite a while!
We love this place and will be back again.
Thanks Cathy and John for making our special evening just awesome.
Burwell's has a full menu to pick from, but it was just a dessert stop for us. Service was very good. The portions are perfect especially if you enjoyed a full dinner.
The carrot cake was a bit dry but the nutella cheesecake was decadently delicious!
We hadn’t been here in quite awhile but that won’t happen again. The food was delicious & our waitperson was so helpful & knowledgeable in her suggestions for both wines & meal choices. It was a great night!
It was our second visit to Burwell's and we were not disappointed. The wagyu beef on the hot lava rock for an appetizer was outstanding. Our sons split a 20 oz ribeye that they thought was the best steak they had ever had! Filet mignon was tender and rich and the flank steak was delicious. Not an inexpensive meal, but for a special occasion it is a real treat.
Fiancé and I went for restaurant week and the entire experience was fantastic. Peter was our server and was a massive contributor to the 5 star review. His personality, in conjunction with the amazing courses we enjoyed, continued to reinforce why we enjoy Burwell’s so very much. Keep up the great work!
There for our annual girls night out. Service and food were excellent. We will return.
Food was great service was too.
As a quality steakhouse, Burwell's is an excellent value. The ambiance is pleasant, warm, and modern, our food was delicious, and our server (Peter) was the perfect blend of social and professional. A return visit is definitely in the cards!
Had a wonderful dinner. Everything from service to the food selection was outstanding. I had the best filet mignon- cooked perfectly! We will definitely be back!
Great experience. Food was amazing!!
We really enjoyed dining at Burwell’s in New Year’s Eve. We almost closed the restaurant down. Wish we would have been seated downstairs as it seemed more lively but everything was delicious and we really enjoyed our time. We went with someone who had a very serious gluten allergy and wish our server would have been more knowledgeable on what he could and could not enjoy, but aside from that everything was great.
Lovely New Years Eve dinner
Excellent food & service
The food and service are always great here.
Only one night in Charleston and picked this restaurant. Menu on website needs to be updated. Listed a burger for $18 as an option for teenagers in party, no such option. Scallop entree came with 3 scallops for $30., overly salted as well as the steaks. Ordered side of mac after the fact since dinners were small portions. Never happy about giving a bad review but these issues can be improved upon.
Smores dessert top 5 desserts of my life. Will be back for that alone, steaks also very good.
We had the most delicious Christmas Eve dining experience with incredible service and a festive atmosphere.
We had reserved a table for family Christmas Eve dinner, unfortunately, half the party came down sick and couldn’t make it. The hostess graciously welcomed us, and still promptly sat us at a table for two. Service is excellent, we were pleasantly served by four or five different people all intent on making our experience wonderful. Steaks cooked to perfection, tasty craft drinks, and really good rolls. Looking forward to our next dining experience....
The food was excellent. The waiter was rude and obnoxious certainly added a negative experience to an otherwise great evening.
Great way to spend Christmas Eve. Excellent dinner. Attentive staff.
The perfect place to celebrate my birthday! Thank you for a unique experience and wonderful meal.
Excellent food! The service was phenomenal! Great early Christmas dinner with the family!
We had a fabulous time. Burwell Martini was perfect! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We will be back!
