Burke & Wills
Very good fare, good options for non alcoholic cocktails, food was well prepared, charming service and really charming decor.
Fabulous Aussie rieslings!! The oysters were great, lovely beet salad, Arctic Char was amazing. We will be back!
We really enjoyed our first visit to B our waiter was friendly and engaging, with lots of recommendations about the menu. The food and drink was excellent. Especially enjoyed the oysters, shisito peppers, bavette sirloin, and the bread pudding dessert! We'll be back!
Overall very good but I especially recommend the curried carrot soup and the Pavlova dessert! Lovely service.
We absolutely loved our evening experience. They made our anniversary night so special and were super accommodating of my dietary restrictions. We would recommend them to anyone!
Menu was interesting and food beautifully presented but limited choices. Food was good but nothing special—a little bland. Drinks excellent; bread pudding with toffee excellent. Our server was arrogant and inattentive. Told us at the start that a “trained service dog could bring food “ but he said “I hope I can do more”. Then the meal was delayed; deserts brought at different times, and it felt as if he was going through the motions of following up but could care less about our experience. Was it because we were older couples? Too bad because the restaurant came highly recommended to us.
Nice place for brunch and very good service. I recommended lox Benedict.
Everything was lovely! The staff is attentive and genuinely friendly, and the food was very good.
If going to the Beacon Theatre for a show or to watch a great act (recently Eddie Izzard) make sure you drop into this great place (5 mins away). The staff are friendly, the drinks are good and the food excellent.
We love Burker & Wills because the dining room is small, intimate, food excellent and service always professional and knowledgeable. All the above is unusual for the UWS
Not only one of the best Australian restaurants in New York; one of the most beguiling in any category.
A quaint little refuge - attentive ,friendly staff - great music and good food. I would definitely venture back.
The food was very good and the service was excellent. The menu was limited
Sunday evening (Easter). Quaint dining area, dinner was delicious, cocktails were great, and service was top notch.
Good food. A bit pricey for brunch food. Drinks all separate.
Creative and well-prepared dishes . Nice ambience and decor in the glass-ceilinged dining room
Preshow dinner on UWS so I asked Cheryl #bookofeats for a suggestion. Went to Burke n wills, nice place, good beer ( from Brooklyn Threes logical conclusion)n bourbon selection. Food was delish, kangaroo burger, mussels. Bread was sourdough which was ok, could be more sourdough. Not a fan of olives but I never tried a red one. Still not a fan. Overall a good spot, a bit pricey but maybe that’s the UWS
Wonderful experience, excellent food and service quality!
Excellent food and wine, excellent service, prices are reasonable.
Extraordinary! We arrived at an early 4.30 because we were pre-theater with a 5.30 reservation. We happily ordered drinks at the long and inviting bar and they were excellent (my wine and my husband’s fancier cocktail) and then they told us that since it was happy hour (which apparently extends to 8!) we would get two more of the same drinks gratis. No complaints from us. We ordered some crab beignets to accompany them and they were excellent. I have to say that the atmosphere in this bar was so very pleasant - all ages happily mingling. When we moved down a seat so that another group could sit together, we were mightily thanked by that group and also by the fabulous bartender whose cocktail making skills verged on prestidigitation. The dining room was small and charming and the attention to all diners was wonderful. We don’t usually like to order the same entree but when we saw the soft shell crabs (maybe a recent addition because they were not on the menu when we checked online?) we just had to. Fabulous. Then off to the nearby Beacon Theater and Jerry Seinfeld! Wonderful evening!
It is a GEM!!! Great restaurant and room. Cocktails are very good too.
The waitress was very patient and kind and answered our dozen questions about the cocktails. We all four ordered different meals and each were extremely happy.
Great atmosphere! Lovely food and great atmosphere. Next time I will make my way to the cricket club after :)
Service was great, attentive and ambience perfect. The food was absolutely delicious.
Our server Katie was personable and helpful! The food was delicious: we split the bone marrow toast and enjoyed the kangaroo burger and salmon as mains. We enjoyed the decor and ambiance (quiet, on a Wednesday).
Our server Katie was very lovely! We were after this kangaroo burger so we split one. We had a great time.
Such a wonderful experience! The food was so creative and the waitress could not have been friendlier. Can dress up or not for this location - definitely a blend of people. A bit pricey so maybe a special occasion restraint!
Great wait staff , manager was very nice also and extremely accommodating.
Great ambiance food drinks service def one of top places on UWS
B&W is great little hidden gem on the Upper West Side. The food is really good and the service is terrific. Last time I was there, I had the special short ribs dish, which was very tasty. Some of the folks in my party did not like that the restaurant does not provide bread on the table (you have to pay for it). Overall, really good place worth checking out.
Loved the food, the service and the ambiance. It was my 2nd time there and will now be a go to regular spot.
Had a great experience! Went on a date for our anniversary. The bone marrow was delicious! We also had the chips, which are similar to steak fries. The rigatoni was very good as well. However, the bone marrow was the star.
Food and service was great!
Work dinner was lovely. I somehow missed the full wine list so got us a cheaper bottle than I would otherwise, but that's really my absentmindedness more than anything else
Food was delicious and unique. The drinks were also the same. The waiter gave us good recommendations.
From the bar in the front to the skylighted dining room, the restaurant is appealing and welcoming. And the same can go for the attentive staff. It's a strong contender for one of the West Side's best restaurants, with a slightly unexpected menu of delicious -- sometimes unusual -- choices. The wine selection is excellent. Whole experience has me thinking about booking a flight to Australia...
good ffod, on expensive side for what you get. lively front bar, dining room in back is small - fits abotu 35 people, can get loud dependinfg on patrons, but bar noise doesnt spill into dining room. THer is a n upstairs area too, not sure what that looks like.
Such great ambience! Fantastic front bar with a good
The food was pricier than I anticipated but it was very good.
