Burger Bar Chicago
Burgers are definitely the name of the game at Burger Bar Chicago. Try our original stackers - like the Wild Bill (bison burger with arugula, goat cheese and tomato chutney on a pretzel bun) and our Firehouse (1/2 lb. patty topped with pepper jack, chorizo relish and guajillo aioli) - as well as alternatives like the amazing Veggie Burger or the Turkey BLT. Of course, the beer list will blow your mind too. With a huge, ever changing craft on draft selection and many more in bottles and cans, come enjoy one of the best microbrew selections in Chicago.
And after your meal? How about a delicious shake like our Chocolate 3-Way or our Banana Nutella, which round out your stay just right. See you soon!
I made my own bacon blue cheese burger - they forgot my bacon but took it off the bill as well, so I didn't mind. The fried pickles were pretty mediocre, and the truffle fries were $5 for a single person serving (my friend and I were expecting to split them). Our server was a little too busy (it seemed like they were understaffed for a Saturday night), but extremely kind and helpful when she was able to be attentive. Overall, the burger was great and so were the fries, and I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a spot for a mid price range, good quality burger.
Food was delicious! Best burger we have had in recent memory. The server was pleasant and the classic rock music was a welcome plus! I have already recommended it!
The service was pretty poor. Our server would occasionally stop by and ask if there was anything that we would like... but never waited if someone in our group was debating on what to order. He would just walk away and pretend not to hear us if we called for him to come back. It was not busy at all in the restaurant so it didn’t seem to be an issue if he had to show a small amount of patience. We ordered several apps, drinks, & entrees so it wasn’t as if we were being picky either. Burgers were decent. My fried chicken sandwich was mushy and was spotty in flavor. Most likely we won’t return even though I used to love this place and had a huge 30th surprise party for my husband there 5 years ago. It’s gone downhill...
Fantastic burgers with a creative variety of delicious toppings. Great rotating draft list, full bar, and milkshakes too! I recommend the sweet potato tots.
Amazing burgers & the sundae was yummy! Great atmosphere & service.
I was hesitant to come to Burger Bar again after a not so great experience a few years ago. While the food has improved since my last visit (my hamburger was cooked exactly how I asked, had great seasoning and my friend couldn’t stop raving about the wings), the service still leaves a lot to be desired.
It took a long time for our waitress to greet us, bring us drinks and bring out our food despite the restaurant not appearing to be that busy. We are also pretty sure she forgot to put in the mac and cheese we ordered until we asked about it.
After two experiences with lack luster service, I won’t be coming back to Burger Bar despite the food improving greatly between my first and second visits.
This is the best burger in the city, hands down.
Pretty horrible, my burger literally tasted like it was under a heat lamp for some time. My bacon was coated in some type of dey rub when I asked for candied bacon. I give this experience a score of 4 out of 10
Great location near theaters. Burgers were great! Fried pickles very good, fries just ok. We had a very good server.
Good food and super nice waitress, but way overpriced for what it is
Great burgers, fries, tots, beer and shakes!!!
Our party of 10 got seated quite easily, but the server disappeared for quite some time. Our food came quickly after it was ordered, and it was all very good. We had a huge variety off the menu, and were more than pleased with the poutine, the fried pickles appetizer, and pizole salad. Unfortunately one primary reason we chose the restaurant is that the menu has the "Impossible Burger" on it. When we got there, we were informed that they haven't had it on the menu in a while, and probably wouldn't again for at least month. One of our party is Vegan, so it was an extreme disappointment.
While the garden at Burger Bar is pretty spare, it's a cool place to chill - with super good burgers, fries and even veggie options. Service was terrific.
We had dinner on a Thursday night with family. The place was virtually empty, I was surprised. The food was generally good however the fries were either from the lunch service or fried in very old oil. Will think twice about going back to the Lincoln park location.
Wonderful. Sandwich was fantastic
Tried to get an impossible burger, but it wasn't available. The service was lackluster - waited a decent amount of time to get service. We ended up having two servers, not sure which one was the actual server; however, both of them were very nice and once we did get service, they were good about checking up. The host seemed like this was his first day of his first job ever, maybe his first day on planet earth.
Way overpriced for what it is.
Outstanding burger! Sweet potato tots are good. Nice wedge salad. Good tap beer selection.
Burger and fries were not hot. The patties are too thick in my opinion.
The best burger ever.
Delicious fried pickles and homemade chips. Great beer selection as well! Fun for date night!
Service was very slow. Wasn’t very busy so no reason other than she was more interested in chatting with her friends. Tried getting servers attention multiple times and even when it seemed she was looking right at us she’d turn and walk away. No attention to the important details like providing flatware when needed.
When we paid the bill mostly with cash $60 and the remaining was to go on credit card $23, but she charged the whole thing on the card and she took the cash as tip.
Food was decent but not the best burger I’ve had. Fried pickles where great but for what you pay for them you think you’d get more than the seven little slivers provided just so they can be cute by sticking them in a jar.
Convenient location but plenty of other options in the area far better. Most likely won’t be back.
The burgers were great. It was nice to have so many choices of toppings. Nick, our server, was very pleasant and helpful.
Love Love! Treated my students so well and they were so full!
We got 2 appetizers (scotch egg and poutine) and shared a burger and shake. All were delicious! The food took a bit longer than I would think, because there were very few people there, but drinks came quick so not a big deal. The burger was definitely the best thing we ate. We will be back!
Great atmosphere, hospitality, and food!
Good place; pretty much what I expected: a burger-and-beer kind of place. My only gripe is that our server forgot to get my wife's soft drink (she remembered my beer!) so I went and got it at the bar. Otherwise, no complaints - good food, good atmosphere, good value. We went because they have grass-fed beef (and bison!) and build-your-own burger option - not disappointed at all. Glad we went, and it's definitely on our go-to list for that part of town for the future.
The burger options were insane and I had the sweet potato tater tots. Good prices for beer and food
Excellent food, drinks.
We go to this restaurant almost every time we have theater tickets at stepoenwolf, which is just two blocks away.
We enjoy their burgers, salads and French fries. The food is delicious and the service is very good.
We had amazing service! Super friendly and attentive. Took my son out to eat for his 14th birthday! Best burger I have had in years! Juicy, delicious, flavorful and a great value. Fried pickles a definate suggestion for appetizer. we will be repeat customers.
The flavor of the burgers was very good. The problem with our meal was the temperature of the food. The truffles fries were cold and the burgers just barely warm and after a few bites they were cold also. Our server did bring us a fresh batch of fries that were great and very hot. We ended up not finishing our burgers, taking them home to reheat the next day.
The food was delicious, (especially the chips), and the beer selection was excellent. Especially if you like craft beers.
Brendon I believe was the bartender and he was a great guy..... when we got to our table that is where things took a turn for the worst. Only seen our waiter a few times through the entire experience when you come behind the service with the food way way way overpriced.... Of course I still left a tip but will not be going back to burger bar anytime soon
The food was phenomenal! Service was great also. The music playing very catchy and modern
Burger Bar is great fun. The burgers are great and imaginative with lots of choices. It's loud and every TV is playing a different sport. A bit loud for the older set like us, but we'd go again for the burgers next time we have tickets at Steppenwolf.
We had a very large group (15), so food delay is somewhat expected. It was very cold sitting up front though.
We've eaten here many times. The food is always delicious. We were very disappointed this time to find out that the burgers come with no sides now. You have to pay extra even to have lettuce and tomatoes. You have to pay more for a whole wheat bun. The kicker is the prices on the burgers have remained the same.
Loved the food. Grass fed burger was very tasty and sweet potato fries were amazing. Good variety to choose from but service was pretty slow. Restaurant wasn’t overly crowded and we were in there for about 2 hours
Food was good but service was slow.
