Burger Bar Chicago
Burgers are definitely the name of the game at Burger Bar Chicago. Try our original stackers - like the Wild Bill (bison burger with arugula, goat cheese and tomato chutney on a pretzel bun) and our Firehouse (1/2 lb. patty topped with pepper jack, chorizo relish and guajillo aioli) - as well as alternatives like the amazing Veggie Burger or the Turkey BLT. Of course, the beer list will blow your mind too. With a huge, ever changing craft on draft selection and many more in bottles and cans, come enjoy one of the best microbrew selections in Chicago.
And after your meal? How about a delicious shake like our Chocolate 3-Way or our Banana Nutella, which round out your stay just right. See you soon!
Food was good but service was slow.
Went before a show at iO comedy on New Year's Eve, it was pretty quiet inside which I hadn't seen before! The food is on point and if you are looking for a quality burger definitely go here. They have grass fed and gluten-free buns which I completely appreciate. Sweet potato fries and sweet potato tots are high on the list also!
Great burgers! Sandwiches, salads and appetizers fill out the rest of the menu. It has a nice pub atmosphere. Full service bar and several TV's make it a good spot to watch sports and hang with friends.
overall it was fair. from the service to the ambience to the food, nothing stood out as memorable. there are many better options for burgers around town.
Honestly everything was fantastic. Delicious food, good ambiance, friendly staff, stiff drinks and a decent beer menu.
The food was awesome. Great burgers, cooked exactly the way we ordered them.
Excellent experience. Wish the wine prices were a little lower, maybe $10?
Burger was order medium rare and come out brunt. Mac and cheese was order and came out as a pile of noodles in cheesy water, and stay away from the homemade chip-queso-gauc
Super Fun & Delicious visit to celebrate a teenager's birthday. Our server, James, was spectacular and even helped take pictures as we celebrated with decadent milkshakes, yummy appetizers (Poutine! Fried Pickles! Bacon Waffle Skewers!) and finished with awesome burgers.
The six teens each ordered their own custom burger creation, and the six adults split a Cobb Salad and one burger between two people. Plenty filling and so so so so good. Must try the sweet potato tater tots. And bring cash for the b&w photo booth - $3 exact change.
Can't wait to go back and try a different burger -- the Firehouse was a winner if you like spicy food!
Atmosphere feels and food tastes like a fast food/chain restaurant, while you're paying $16-18 an entree.
The management at Burger Bar is outstanding as well as all the waitstaff. The food is delicious, prepared to each individual's liking and is fresh as can be. Just go there and enjoy!
Just way too unhealthy and very expensive for burgers. I had a salad. Sadly Jewel's Caeser Salad kit trumps it. My husband felt sick the next day. Will not return.
Tasty and creative burgers, thoughtful craft beer selection, cool waiter. Perfect break on a scorching Chicago afternoon
Disappointing experience. We sat in the bar area at a table. Our server after seating us took about 7 more tables in the back room. Took over 35 minutes to get 2 burgers, and we never got a shake that we paid for. She never apologized and acted as if it was our fault. Food tastes wonderful! I’ve waited tables myself for over 25 years and have never had such a disappointing service experience.
I have been in Chicago for around 2months and this is the best meal I have had so far. I was really craving a burger and this place definitely hit the spot. We started off with chips and guac/queso. The chips had an awesome bbq dusting that perfectly complemented the guac and queso. My burger and fries were also perfect. Someone I was with got a salad and it was hearty and filling, nothing foofoo or skimpy.
The salad I ordered had a very spicy dressing that I wasn't expecting and cheese sprinkled in it that I wasn't sure what kind so I opted to not eat it.
I love sitting outside!
Great burgers and shakes! Will definitely come back with my family!
Very nice experience - Good food and was able to hold a business meeting that you didn't have to shout at each other to hear. I really like being able to build your own burger and to have a beer of your choice.
Amazing burgers but just pricey. Pretty good place to grab lunch.
As always, great food. A little bummed to hear they changed there Mug Club program and now it’s an annual 35$ fee. Seems there could have been better notification about this.
Also, seemed they were short handed. Had to wait a few times before I was able to flag down the server to order a beer.
The food as always was great.
Outstanding customer service. Good burgers.
Great burgers. The service was superb. The parking was convenient.
Great burger spot with creative burgers. Our server was great. We went on a Friday night and the vibe/ambiance in there didn’t have the same trendy, crowded vibe, which is a nice break within the city.
Got order wrong (burger undercooked, wrong fries, chicken added to a vegetarian salad, expensive toppings were excluded when asked for burger to be re-cooked. Utensils missing. Super slow service, even for a beer. And bathroom door in men’s room didn’t lock. Have had great experiences here before but this was pretty bad and we were shocked the manager didn’t offer to help. Was unbelievable after so many errors in one order. When I asked for them to do something, they did, but unacceptable that we had to ask. Was a comedy of errors.
Always enjoyed this place when visiting Chicago. This time was different. Was very average—service and the food.
Quality burger, great fries
We were seated right away with our reservation. Service was GREAT and food was AMAZING!!!! This was our first time here as we were attending a play at the Steppenwolf Theatre and we are from out of town. Excellent shakes, burgers, fries, fried pickles. Also have several options for vegetarians. My daughter ordered the lobster and shrimp burger (made out of lobster and shrimp) and she LOVED it!!!!!!! I highly recommend!
At first we got turned away, we were 5mins late for our reservation and the host said kitchen was closed...The manager must’ve overheard and came over and got us in...didn’t catch his name but that was AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE, so if he reads this thank you and well be back because of that act🙏🏽
And for those wondering yes i left the waiter a nice tip lol.
Always pay it forward
We very much enjoyed our meal! Service was fantastic and very warm and welcoming environment.
Server was really bad
The only downside was the parking. We had to pay $12 for the hour we were there.
Food was mediocre and I ordered my burger medium well and it was charred on the outside; I could taste the burnt char flavor. My onion was half burned, calling it a grilled onion and why would anyone not put the cheese directly on the meat; it came on top of the onion. My children and I had two bacon burgers and one shrimp burger and just those three burgers was $51. Definitely NOT worth the money. I won't be back.
Love this place always
The food was amazing and the service was awesome. Great place for group outings too.
We ordered burgers, salads, specialty drinks and an appetizer. The food is always delicious and the service is excellent.
I took an 8 year old girl there for her birthday (her choice); The fried pickles for a starter were yummy, our burgers were tasty and we split a Strawberry Shortcake milkshake per her request. All in all, it was a positive experience and the birthday girl seemed happy.
The burgers are big and tasty, but on the pricier side. The service is extremely slow and they were out of several of the beers we tried to order. I would go back though.
