Burger & Beer Joint - Brickell Ratings and Reviews
Generally I'm a big fan of B&B Joint, I firmly believe they are one of the better burger places in South Florida. My experience the other night at the Brickell location was far from what I've come to expect from this franchise. As we sat down, the server arrived to tell us that the kitchen was backed up and the food would take a while to get there. Then she mentioned they were almost completely out of beer because their shipment had not arrived that day. When the food did arrive it was overcooked. On top of that, our server was almost non existent, leaving us for extended periods looking to get drinks refreshed. The check came only after I asked a bus person to get it for us.
I wrote a note directly to the company and received a call a couple days later from the general manager of the location. He apologized for the experience, and explained the situation about the beer delivery. He then told me the reason the food was slow coming out, was due to the vent hood in the kitchen not working, which made cooking in the kitchen hard.
When I mentioned the substandard table side service, he went into a long and convoluted description of how servers have tables all over the restaurant. He then said, "Take down my phone number and when you come back, I'll make sure you have a great experience." I explained that I was in Miami for business and that I wouldn't have the chance to be back for a year or so, and that I typically frequent the other locations." Instead of offering a gift certificate or something else, he just said "I'm sorry to hear that." I ended the phone call as disappointed in the follow up as I was in the experience in the restaurant. All in all a very disappointing experience start to finish at this location.
Wings were great, burgers were awesome, and the fried oreos are amazing!!! Service was great, the place needs to be more vivid though. It's too quiet, they don't really play music, also some toppings shouldn't be charged. My girlfriends burger came out to be so much for such basic toppings. Other than that, everything went well. Would be heading back soon!
The food was delicious! I love that I was able to custoMize My burger with various quality toppings (marmalade, truffles, pineapple) just to name a few. I was not expecting a monstrous size burger after 3 delicious bites I surrender! The service was good our waiter checked in on us constantly to make sure was Good and drinks were replenished.
We arrived early and they seated us right away. The restaurant is in the middleof a shopping/dining center. Was pretty low key early, but in the evening the whole place is hopping. There is inside and outside seating. The night we were there, there was a promotion goignon wiht the Miami Heat,so the outside area was very loud and very busy. the local upscale burger joint in Chicago that is similar is Kuma's Corner, and I thought Beer n Burger was much better.Extensive beer list as well as full bar and adult milkshakes.Price was good too. One fault was the server gave us our drinks and food and then kinda drifted off.Never got asked if I wanted another drink and never refilled my water. Overall a good place.
"Sky" was our server. She was a little girl that could hustle! It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon so it was good to see the staff work together as a team to expedite food to the tables. Food was great! And I hope someday they will open up in Broward County!
