Burger and Barrel Ratings and Reviews
Went here for lunch with a group of 4. We had reservations and were seated at a random table at the end of the bar. We were in the way of people at the bar and seemed to be forgotten about by the waiter. We got our water right away, but were never asked if we wanted to order drinks. I like a good beer with my burgers and was slightly disappointed by the small beer list. The burger was amazing and was brought out quickly after ordering. The great food made up for the slow start!
A friend and I went here for brunch. The service was pretty good, the food was good and had a decent selection. One bad thing: the "brunch special" only went from 10am-12pm. Not really acceptable for a Saturday brunch, especially since they kept using the brunch menu past that time (instead of a lunch menu)
My boyfriend and I stopped by on a Saturday night, having heard great things. We were seated near the bar and greeted warmly with menus. We decided we would have cocktails, a few small plates and one entree burger to get a sense of the entire menu. After putting in our cocktail order and small plates, I guess the waitress assumed we were cheap and not getting anything else, because she never really came back. She dropped off our cocktails and small plates and took our menus. She never once asked if we wanted anything else, never once asked us how our food or cocktails were. She finally came back 45 min. later to give us dessert menus.
Food was good. Meat was excellent. Service was terrible. We STILL want to try that burger though!
Service and ambience were great, food excellent and well priced, was taken back by the price of the wine list, very expenses there was only one bottle under 110.00 in reds and all bar two were Californian. Given the food price range it was surprising not to see more 60 - 85 bottles
Had a great time, staff attentive and friendly, atmosphere fun and noise level was good for conversation, great date restaurant
We were happily surprised when we saw a Monday pre-fixe menu. I loved the raviolini and my friends really enjoyed the bash burger and fried chicken. The chocolate cake was way better than the banana creme pies, which usually is one of my favorite desserts but I guess not at B&B. I thought the service was great, we were not rushed. We will be back...on a weekday.
I am a big fan of Burger and Barrel and frequent quite regularly. However the food was a little off on my last visit. The onion rings were served cold and the burger wasn't up to it's usual juicy standards. Service was okay, but definitely not what I would call attentive. I will need to go again to find out if it was just a one-time not great meal, or is it slipping.
My dear friend and I met here for their interesting cocktails and to try their famous bash burger. We loved it. First, we had a great table - postcard perfect. The wait staff all helped each other, so you never had to wait. The burger was so delicious, and the cocktails really were high class. The only downside is that it will all add up: every cocktail, burger and appetizer were $15+ each. But to be fair, for all the wonderfulness, it seemed a fair price. Tables by the window or in front of the bar are worth it, truly. Other tables are designed for a large group, like an office party.
I heard about this restaurant on the Rachel ray show, my husband and I were in NYC for the weekend, so I made reservation. Some of the best food we've had anywhere! Great service and atmosphere! The bash burger is to die for! Love that they give you a homemade cookie when you leave!
Bar scene = great, very friendly and competent folks there.
Appetizers = cheese plate, beet salad, and French Onion soup were very nicely prepared.
However, for the main event, two burgers = disaster. First, they took forever, and burgers were hopelessly over and undercooked (we each ordered one); by the time it came out (late), it was too late to change the order.
With that said, the restaurant manager did call me afterward to apologize profusely (I left a note on the receipt), and I'd like to give them another shot.
The truffle burgers is quite delicious. The other dishes we had including a duck lasagna and some corn/crab chowder did not rate. The waiter made numerous mistakes including bringing the wrong entree as well as forgetting part of the order. No attempt was made to comp or notify the manager, just some mumbled apologies. They were not even very busy. We won't be back.
Went her with my girlfriend for her birthday. We both had their famous bash burger, and thought it was great. Not sure if it necessarily one of the top 5 burgers in the city, but still very solid. One of our friends also had pre-ordered a bottle of champagne for us, which went without a hitch. Everyone, including servers that didn't have our table, wished her a happy birthday and our dessert came with a candle (but without any annoying singing or anything), which I thought was a nice touch. Highly recommend.
Burger and Barrel is a true unique find. An interesting blend of burgers and great wine or great cocktails if you prefer. The food is amazing and the wine list is impressive. The place itself is kind of small and on a good night can get rather noisy. Overall I enjoyed my experience there and would go again.
