Nice evening with friends at a new find. Delicious food and our server Alvi, was fabulous. Definitely will be back again.
The food was fabulous. Everyone loved their entrees. The gnocchi, spinach fettucine and veal francaise were excellent. The service was very attentive and very pleasant and our waiter Alvi was the only wait staff in the restaurant that night and he did an excellent job. Buono Vito is an excellent restaurant
This is one of our favorite local spots. Food is very good and service is always exceptional. It is a BYOB. I highly recommend
Our food was delicious! We ended up eating outside under the tent in the back of the restaurant. One of the owners came over to our table and got us settled with water, opening our wine, and describing the specials to us. When we checked in the inside of the restaurant seemed very loud, so we were happy to sit outside because it was a pleasant evening and much quieter. The restaurant also has limited outdoor seating on two very small porches on the front of the building which has a more scenic view. It was nice to eat outside, but the area under and around the tent could use some beautifying. Overall, it was a very nice experience and our food was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed what they had.
We made reservations but still had to wait a half hour to get out table. They seemed to have overbooked. Once we sat down service and food was very good. Noise level is high though. I would go back but would hope to not have to wait.
Good food and service. I little loud, dinnig room is very small. Few outdoor tables in nice weather. They have an extra dinning room upstairs.
Worth going and is BYOB
This is our favorite byob in Somers Point. The food is always consistently excellent. The service personnel are experienced and professional. Some shore restaurants use too many inexperienced seasonal students working at the shore for the summer. We have brought many of our shore visitors to this restaurant and everyone raves about it.
Each course was wonderful from the apps to desert. Offered us a free glass of wine and bruschetta. Great place
Food was ok, service was mediocre. Will probably not be going back
Great food and Alva was super
Food took awhile to come out
This was just "okay." We arrived at 6:30 on Labor Day weekend. The restaurant was half-full at this point but not too loud, and we were comfortable at our table. The hostess was very nice and allowed us to choose where we wanted to sit. We were offered a complimentary glass of wine, which was very nice. Our waiter was very nice, but extremely monotone in his approach. He seemed completely bored to be there. The food overall was average, not terrible but not something I'd rave about either. We ordered the grilled calamari as an appetizer which never came out. The beet salad was a touch overdressed - still edible, but it was my fault for not ordering it on the side. I thought the ambiance was the worst part. The decor is dated and seems like it needs a good cleaning in the place. I kept getting a strong odor which wasn't very pleasant. The waiter's uniform was dirty and unkempt. Some small changes could make this a much better experience. By the time we left it was crowded and I did not think it was too loud, which I saw a lot on other reviews.
Delicious food - too loud for a normal conversation - service was not in keeping with an upscale restaurant.
We got a 6:00 reservation same day Labor Day Weekend. We were able to sit upstairs on the balcony which was fabulous. The inside seemed a little snug, but I can't speak much to it because we were outside. The service was good, some may say slow but we were really enjoying our bottle of wine with the views of the bay. We both got pasta- I got gnocchi aurora and the husband got spaghetti and clams. Both were very good. We were also given complimentary bruschetta along with the bread. We were happy about that. The specials sounded delicious, but pricey so we were happy with our choices. This was a good alternative to more expensive waterfront places because it's BYOB. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because it didn't blow me away, but I would go again.
We love this restaurant and always have a great meal!
Food was awesome but place was loud
Good restaurant though very loud in there and difficult to hear a conversation .
Food is always good. Service was super slow.
Very pleasant evening with good food and I like that it is byob
The last 2 times we sat on the porch and the wait staff basically forgot we were there
Went for a nice dinner with my husband. Restaurant was loud. Service was slow. Many waiting long for their dinners besides us. Once our food was out the server never came back to see if we needed anything. Food was bland and we needed spices. Linguini undercooked. Red sauce reminded us of spaghettios. Probably will not be back.
We have enjoyed eating at Buona Vita many times over the past year and a half. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience tonight. Our appetizers came out in a timely manner, but we waited an unacceptably long time for our entrees tonight. And when my Mother’s Osso Buco arrived at our table, it tasted as if it had been sitting for some time. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed tonight, and did not do a good job to communicate what the issues were tonight. Someone else on staff walked by our table and she informed us that the restaurant was short one person in the kitchen tonight. It was not clear if there was a manager on site and the restaurant seemed like a ship without a captain tonight.
We will be back next weekend and sincerely hope that Buona Vita will be Operating much better. If not, it may be our last visit to what has been our favorite Italian restaurant at the Jersey shore!
Was good but I was not prepared for BYOB. Did not see that clearly stated or stated at all on your site. (Biggest drawback)
Although very noisy, great food and service. Will definitely go back
Our table was near the front entrance door and host check in area. Lots of people were squeezing in and several right up against our table almost knocking over drinks and bottles. It was so bad we asked one group of three to move back away which almost escalated into an ugly scene because the folks we asked to move became angry and quite belligerent. The restaurant needs to enforce a better policy, or, simply not have a table for 4 right next to the entry door. That almost ruined the evening for us. Otherwise it was fairly good, food was great, but pricey 💰, and service was a bit choppy with some of the folks not in the best of moods. I’d go back, but at a different table/location for sure, and hope that it wasn’t so loud and so busy inside.
Great food & varied menu- got lucky & was seated on the balcony overlooking the water, a full moon, & a local Somers Point concert . Perfect evening & will definitely go again!!
The Gnocci was outstanding.
The lobster ravioli and the Bronzino were both excellent. Could not have enjoyed them more. We quickly assessed that the atmosphere was not working for us so we decided to keep it to entree only but the lovely waitress brought out a bruschetta appetizer on the house. We assume there is a room upstairs which we did not see but the downstairs room is small, crowded, loud and with tables much too close to each other. It was difficult to have a conversation. Perhaps we will give it another try off season because the food was certainly delicious and we did enjoy the very professional but sweet waitress.
The noise level was awful. Even though the room was only half full , conversation was difficult to hear. The service was very unprofessional-- we were served bread after we were half finished our dinners. The food was very good, but the noise and service need work.
Service was good but food was just average. A nice place, but nothing special. Not sure if I will return, but will tell friends that it’s a nice place to dine. Good value
Great BYOB. Food was good. Service very good. It was a bit loud in the downstairs dining room but a good time was had by all.
The food As always was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. Unfortunately our server Sal was not very attentive. We had to seek him out several times. He was pleasant and apologetic but just not attentive.
We had 8pm reservations but arrived and did not have a table in the main building. We were offered a table outdoors under the tent with supposed A/C. It was a humid night and it started to downpour during our meal so waiting the 20 minutes for a table indoors was the right move. It was loud and they overbooked that night. Our service and meals were both very good.
Excellent food and service. We dined before a show at the gateway theater just down the block. Nice walking distance to theater. Friendly, attentive service and the food was excellent. Very crowded as we were there during peak Saturday evening hours. Recommend making reservation.
Sal, our waiter was very attentive. Owner chef came out to
Greet us. We wanted
To sit outside to enjoy the music
From the band on the beach but was very windy. Very accommodating moving us inside to a more comfortable spot. Specials a little
Pricey but didn’t disappoint!
always a treat. BYOB which is wonderful. Never had a bad meal there
Service was a little slow but excellent experience overall
As always, the dinner was fantastic. The room was noisy.
