Very nice - very good food.
Everything was Excellent
Disappointing meal. We've eaten here before that never arrived. Just a sub-par dining experience overall.
We had reservations for a Saturday night @ 7:45 & arrived early @ 7 pm. We were offered 2 different tables, one downstairs or one upstairs. Very nice they could accommodate us early. Downstairs was so noisy, you couldn't hear yourself think. We elected upstairs, looked cozy. Service was good, food was excellent. Our party had sautéed clams in red & white sauce, both very good. Unfortunately they do not have good crusty bread. Their bread wasn't worth the calories. My pasta with Bolognese was very tender, would order again. My husband's veal in a marsala sauce was probably the best he has had. Another diner had grilled octopus for his entrée (which was a double appetizer), he loved it. I'm not sure if their upstairs dining room would really pass a fire inspection, because seating was extremely tight. Overall a very nice dining experience & we would recommend!!
Delicious food. Staff attentive to our needs. Will definitely be back.
Overall great meal. Veal was tender and prepared perfectly. Arugula salad was nice but lacking in flavor and not enough cheese.
Wow! I absolutely love this BYOB in Somer’s Point! This was my second time there, and it was even better than the first time. My sister and I both had the Branzino special which was amazing. One of the best I’ve ever had. I also love that it’s a BYOB, which is not always easy to find at the shore. The waitstaff are great and the atmosphere terrific. Just a really good overall dining experience! I will go back every time I’m in the area.
We enjoyed a delicious meal -and great service, as always.
It is summer and the crowds are challenging. That wasn’t the problem here. Most reasonable people understand you will have to wait for a table, often times even if you have a reservation. We were encouraged to take a table inside since the wait for an outdoor table might be lengthy. We were seated and did not even receive menus for over 20 minutes. We finally received the menus and then waited another 20 minutes for a server. I thought this was unreasonable and asked for the manager to stop over. We ordered and received our food, which was very good, but never had the courtesy of a visit. We asked again for the manager after eating and waited for another 15 minutes before finally giving up and leaving. I shared our dissatisfaction with the front of the house before we left and advised I would be leaving this review.
Our visit to Buona Vita was okay. the salad was just normal (meaning good) but the meals were outstanding. Lobster Ravioli was one of the better I've been served.
The service was slow, and missing. Our waitress looked stressed and seemed to have too many tables. She was very nice, but we sat for so long the Hostess had to take our orders. And if we asked for something extra like Parmesan cheese, it never came.
In closing, the staff was very nice, the food was great and we're going to try again on a weeknight when they're no so slammed, to see if the service is better.
Service was excellent. Food was very good. Tables are too close together and noise level is very high.
The salmon is delicious, but the veal buona vita was not very good.
This is a cute restaurant, but very noisy...... food is good. Salads are very small..... could definitely be larger. Overall it’s a good restaurant. I’m sure we will return and hopefully eat outside next time. Views of the bay would be nice.
The food is delicious. Everyone had something different and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to coming back.
We sat outside on their porch. However, we could hear the conversation from a table next to a window inside the restaurant. Our meals were excellent as was the caprese salad. Service was very good, our server could have been friendlier but overall service was attentive. We have been here several times previously and the noise level inside can get very loud. Nice that it’s a byob restaurant, we will definitely return.
Food is consistently good. Only thing not crazy about is their bread choice. For an Italian restaurant I would expect a warm Italian bread. Specials are very pricey ($38 for a lobster ravioli special) but very good also. In the future I will ask the price prior to making decision. We went on September 2nd & were seated directly in front of fake fireplace which was turned on. If any heat was coming out, I could not have sat there. Thought it was a bit too warm outside (75-80 degrees) for a fireplace, even a fake one with no heat. We will definitely go back because the food is consistently good. Ambiance just OK. After all it is a shore point restaurant trying to fit as many people in to enjoy a meal. Seemed slightly understaffed but they did their best. Overall....would recommend a visit.
Great food and very good service. BYOB. The only thing I would recommend
is that they offer gluten free pasta, which I would have liked, but the salmon was
very, very good!
My dinner..osso buco was excellent...so was my mother's veal francese.... we're both born and raised Italian and have lived in Italy so we can't be fooled regarding quality as other Italian restaurants in the area are noted for.
We have been there for the first time a few months ago great. Tried again not do great. We sat for about 10 minutes no one greeted us offered to open wine. Everyone just past is bye til I finally asked hostess to open bottle. Waitress came after she opened bottle and began rehearsing her specials I told her wait til the hostess was done. I got looks from staff all night very uncomfortable. My pasta was a little tough.. Boyfriends pasta was mushy he said. Not sure if we will return. Also we arrived by 545 early no tables no excuse.
This was our 2nd time dining here within 1 weeks time. We love it. Great food, service, value & great ambiance too!
Lovely evening. Owner made us feel special
The food was fantastic! I pretty much inhaled it! Loved the house like feel of the restaurant!
I hadn't been there for two years and had a much better experience. We had an early dinner and both our veal and salmon dishes were very good. The Caprese salad appetizer special could have been bigger for the price. We were able to easily park in the adjoining lot.
I'll start with the good. The ambiance was adorable and I loved feeling like I was in someone's house. Although it took us a while to find a hostess; turns out the hostess was also our server. The menu is fairly larger with lots to choose from. The grilled calamari looked amazing in pictures but mine was completely drenched in oil. The linguine was okay; nothing to write home about. My dining companion did enjoy the bolognase sauce on her pasta, however at that price range, with no sides (not even a small garden salad) included, the food was not worth it. $67 for two people before tip. That doesn't include drinks as this is a BYOB establishment. What was terrible and why I won't be returning was the service. Our server didn't come to our table for at least 20 minutes. I ended up having to ask her if they had any specials. She only listed two; I heard the server for the table next to us list specials that ours didn't tell us about, without their table having to ask. The buser took away my fork while she cleared out the appetizer, which made me cringe because I feared I would never be given a new one given how long it took us to receive water and bread at the beginning of the meal.. When our waitress brought out our meals, I asked her for a new fork. Immediately after, she proceeded to go take another table's order, and never brought my fork. I had to get up and go ask the buser to bring me one. There was no apology or mention of the fork when she returned to bring us the check. No one thanked us for coming or told us goodbye. This is type of terrible service I expect in South Florida, but is completely unacceptable at this type of establishment. Go elsewhere.
So good returning at a future date!
Our server was not familiar with the preparation of the food. She was asked is fish was perpared with black olives she said yes. When dish came it was with calamata olives. My guest did not want it and she made no attempt to remedy the situation . The noodles were hard. The other guests meals were tasteless. We asked if we can have a glass of wine she said they didn’t have any yet offered it to the table behind us.
Overall we were very unhappy and all 4 of us agreed we would not return
Dinner was great. Food was superb. The only thing is for being a BYO it was a bit pricey. We would come back again
Food was excellent
Very cute atmosphere! Dinner was good!
Open Table reservation was not acknowledged by the restaurant. Extremely unprofessional activity as guests berated hostess demanding a seat. Management is invisible & allowed patrons to disturb the waiting patrons & disrespect hostess. Worst beginning to any night out. Get control of your place.
Food was excellent. Service very good. The only problem was that even though we had a 7:30 reservation, we were not seated until 8:10, which is pretty much unacceptable. We were there by 7:15.
We enjoyed a delicious meal! Everything was perfect! Will definitely visit again!
Facilities were just average. Old building. Noise level very loud!! Good was better then average. Prices were competitive. Service excellent. Space was cramped
Would go back during off season when less crowed
My Pollo Buona Vita was excellent. However, my sister in-law thought the crab in her pasta dish was not good. Service was good and the price was not crazy for down the shore. The noise level was way too loud-- we had to leave sooner after dinner to get away from it and have a reasonable conversation. I'd go again.
Good food Noise level high. Pricey.
The food and service was very good. However it is extremely loud in the restaurant and the tables were close together.
Once again, the best food and service in Somers Point!
The food and service were excellent. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. The dining room is pretty tight and we were glad to be seated outside. They did seat us just about on time for our reservation even though it was very chaotic there. I’d advise to ask the price on specials. I didn’t and my dish was $50. My husband freaked out.
The Hostess had a tough job that night. People were hanging onto her stand. I think she needed to say only 1 person per party could stand in the entrance. People had a hard time checking in because whole parties blocked entrance. Will only come back in off season. Too many rude, obnoxious people.
Very crowded, did not get seated right away but they tried to accommodate...staff was very courteous!
