Buon Appetito Ratings and Reviews
Our server was friendly, attentive and on point. He made sure that we had everything we needed and would refill my iced tea when it was low. The pastas were perfectly al dente and my hubby absolutely loved his Risotto.
The first time I ate here was for a white elephant Christmas gathering. I loved the food and service so much that I made this reservation to meet with old friends. They were not disappointed and you won't be wither. It's not the quietest during rush hour (Duh!), but the food is great.
we reserved table for 5 people. Reservation was an easy even if New Year day. but problem our table review was a kitchen and restroom. I mean we can get same table without reservation. we were seeing how they cooked. I don’t prefer. my friend ordered his 2. drink but it took while 10min. food totally amazing, but service and seat area might not satisfied. also services charges 18%.
Really San Diego, this place gets good reviews? You all really need to get out more. I was in San Diego for 5 days trying places the city is known for. Most was average at best.
The food at Buon Appetito was also extremely average. In fact I could have gotten some Olivieri from the grocery and would have had a better meal.
Please get out into the world, try better food and up your game.
This place was recommended to me by a friend. His family is from and still lives in Sicily so he visits quite often. I figured he would be a good person to trust with this recommendation and I was not wrong. The food has an unbelievable flavor, the atmosphere is cozy, and the wait staff was extremely warm and friendly. If we are ever in the area again I would definitely love to go back!
We had not been back in a while. I forgot how much food they served you. The food was excellent and the service was better than that. The tiramisu is great. My daughter says it is better than any she has had in Italy. They make you feel comfortable and take very good care of you. We will be returning more often.
This used to be our favorite go to spot in Little Italy. During our last visit, of course while entertaining friends from out of town, we were highly disappointed. We arrived for our reserved time of 6:30. We had requested outdoors, but on our arrival, noticed all of the outside spots had been taken. The hostess whisked us next door to Sogno Di Vino, also owned by the same owner of Buon Appetito and directed us to a table for four. No I’m sorry, we gave your table away and don’t have room for you in the restaurant we requested.... Okay, so same menu or other menu, your choice. Had we want d to order paninis, we wouldn’t have made a reservation at Buon Appetito. Anyway, fast forward to mediocre service by our inattentive waiter and staff, we have to be subjected to watching women’s cage fighting while trying to eat our pasta. I can’t believe all three televisions are tuned to cage fighting and blood spurting all over the screen while we are trying to have a nice dinner with friends. Bad, just bad.
I used to dine at this restaurant 10 years ago when I lived in San Diego. And now, as a business traveler, I was so disappointed that the place has turned into a tourist trap complete with all the trimmings: bad food, high prices, and snooty hostesses. Will never go back. And I'm embarrassed I recommended this place to a friend. Had to apologize.
This is a fabulous little restaurant. The food was wonderful, the wine delicious, the service first class and the ambience perfect. I was celebrating a special birthday and the restaurant treated us like VIPs. I'd highly recommend a visit...you won't be disappointed.
A friend and I were visiting San Diego and looking for an excellent dinner. The food at Buin Appetito was authentic and delicious. Our waiter was superb, and provided excellent advice on both our meal selections and the accompanying wine. We enjoyed the outside seating, even though it was a bit tightly spaced. All in all, a fully enjoyable dining experience.
First time there and 2 of us had he. Hi Ken park which was not on the menu but we. It it with a fork. Tender and delicious with vegetables and potatoes. The Caesar salad with fresh anchovies were also delicious. Amply bread and grated Parmesan cheese was enjoyed. Dessert was also a hit with hazel nut and chocolate gelato and fresh Canolis.
