Food here was delicious. Pasta is hand made and portions are nice and big. Authentic Italian people working there. You have to have the whole party there before you sit down.
We sat outside and the entire experience was spectacular! Great service, outstanding food and a fun vibe in Little Italy.
The restaurant is a cozy little place in the Middle of Little Italy. The food is amazing and priced fairly. The waiter was always polite, patient with our questions and and a joy to talk to.
While the outside tables are a little too close, the place is awesome
Food was amazing!!
This place is awesome! Food, wine, service...everything!
We celebrated my daughter’s 7th Birthday there and had a great time! The service and food were perfect!
The food is pretty good - it's an authentic Italian menu - or mostly anyways. I had the pocket pasta with lobster and cheese, and my wife had ravioli. Both were very well prepared and tasted good. They have a good wine selection. For dessert we had the mousse cake - pretty good (but there are better dessert options in the area fwiw). The one downside is that the restaurant is on the cramped side - busy - make reservations, but not so bad that I wouldn't recommend.
We visited San Diego in April, and our hotel recommended this restaurant. My husband and I split the veal piccata, and it was an excellent dish!
Good food for a great price and nice atmosphere.
Authentic Italian. Phenomenal food. They let me do chicken fettuccine Alfredo not even on the menu. Seriously the best Italian I've had in my life. I can see why it's highly regarded everywhere.
Even though OpenTable sent a confirmation and I called the restaurant, when we got there they didn't have our reservation. We ended up with 8 people at a table for 6 in a very noisy room. Very disappointed and would not go there again.
Outstanding food. Service a little slow but wait staff very friendly and gave great recommendations. Would definitely recommend.
If you want to enjoy proper Italian food, this is not the place. Cooked without love.
The food is ALWAYS fantastic!
At first we were disappointed because we had a reservation and their “new system” wasn’t showing our reservation. Luckily their hostess who’s name I didn’t get, but was very sweet with an accent of some sort, was sure to remedy the situation almost immediately and it was the best outcome we could have hoped for. She was kind and gracious and apologetic and we were so appreciative of her helpfulness. In addition to that, our server was also incredible and his recommendations were perfect. The food.. well... I can’t say enough. I live in Orange County and my husband and I WILL be coming to San Diego JUST for their pasta again. It was incredible. All of it. 5 stars even with the reservation “hiccup”.
Very good experience the food was excellent the service was great very hard place to find parking but the food is worth it
Food and service was excellent!! Will definitely return to this gem.
First time I visited Bon Apetito was 15 or so years ago... maybe when they first opened! On Tuesday, our service was fantastic! Our glasses were kept full, the delivery of our food was not long at all, and their marinara sauce was perfect, full of flavor which complimented the soft fresh bread while we were waiting. The Insalata della Casa with salmon was amazing...large size filet and fresh greens. The Fettuccine Primavera had a wonderful selection of vegetables and it was a hefty portion. I will be back!
Good gnocchi. Pasta with boar sauce could have had more flavor.
We live in Orange County and needed a weekend away..,saw the menu on Google and this place didn’t disappoint! The only thing, it was a little tight and people brought young kids in there.. so that being said, it wasn’t t as special .. loved our waiter, and excellent food and wine..
A wonderful little gem that you must visit. The food amazing, the surroundings soothing.
Three of the four dinner were delicious. One dinner was the veal parm, it was mostly soggy breading topped with tomato sauce. Flavor was good but really not that a proper breaded veal parm. Lacking was the crisp breading on the veal. Service was good but the waiter was a bit condescending. Almost got the feeling of who was serving who????
All in all an ok experience, but we all had a good laugh at the “really don’t care if you dine with us” attitude.
Fabulous authentic Italian cuisine. Everything was cooked and served perfectly. Easily the best Cioppino and Tiramisu I have eaten.
Cozy spot with a creative menu. Traditional Italian fare, mixed with some unique options & ingredients. Was busy even on a weeknight. A bit crowded & the noise level is high, so not really the place to go if you're seeking quiet. The food was outstanding and portion sizes were just right. Good wine selection.
It was amazing and delicious!! They had vegan options
Very hospitable people working there. And, the food was delicious!
The service is very nice and family oriented
Small and noisy but the feeling is like being in Italy
Busy, yet small and cozy. Good energy, and excellent food. A must.
We really enjoyed Buon Appetito. We try to stop in whenever we’re in San Diego. It never disappoints! Food is amazing, & the service is excellent.
Both of us greatly enjoyed our meal. May have been on of the best Italian meals we've had since visiting Italy. My Caprese salad had the freshest tomatos and basil. So good. I had an angel hair pasta with a wonderful tomato sauce that was incredible. Enjoyed it all with a glass of tasty prosecco. Husband had a mushroom and peas pasta that he felt was fabulous.
Enjoyed the meal! The pastas were delicious and we all loved the arugula and beet salad..the best dressing ever!
Food and waitress were good. Hostess needs some work on her social skills. Put us in a corner. Very tight and uncomfortable. We asked for a different table and she offered an equally bad table in front of a stone pillar. Rude and unaccommodating would best describe her style and mannerisms. My husband is a disabled retired Navy veteran and tight confines are uncomfortable for him due to injuries. In hindsight I regret not leaving restaurant at that point. We observed patrons arriving after us having their choice of seating. Unfortunate that one rude hostess was able to ruin what might have been an enjoyable dining experience. Will not be back nor would I recommend. Left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended).
Always Great Italian Food❤️
It was great!
We were on a business trip and selected this restaurant because it was rated #1 on Trip Advisor for restaurants in San Diego's Little Italy. It was very busy for a Monday night. The service was outstanding and attentive. I had the sea bass over linguini and my husband had the veal osso buco . The food was good but not memorable.
Excellent food like always. Service outstanding by Vincenzo.
We both ordered Osso Boco which was huge. We could have shared one because we had to bring 1/2 of each one's dish home. It was delicious and the risotto was excellent as well. We split a salad. It was a birthday celebration and we received a huge serving of Tiramisu which we split and for which we were not charged. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is always delicious.
