Three of the four dinner were delicious. One dinner was the veal parm, it was mostly soggy breading topped with tomato sauce. Flavor was good but really not that a proper breaded veal parm. Lacking was the crisp breading on the veal. Service was good but the waiter was a bit condescending. Almost got the feeling of who was serving who????
All in all an ok experience, but we all had a good laugh at the “really don’t care if you dine with us” attitude.
Fabulous authentic Italian cuisine. Everything was cooked and served perfectly. Easily the best Cioppino and Tiramisu I have eaten.
Cozy spot with a creative menu. Traditional Italian fare, mixed with some unique options & ingredients. Was busy even on a weeknight. A bit crowded & the noise level is high, so not really the place to go if you're seeking quiet. The food was outstanding and portion sizes were just right. Good wine selection.
It was amazing and delicious!! They had vegan options
Very hospitable people working there. And, the food was delicious!
The service is very nice and family oriented
Small and noisy but the feeling is like being in Italy
Busy, yet small and cozy. Good energy, and excellent food. A must.
We really enjoyed Buon Appetito. We try to stop in whenever we’re in San Diego. It never disappoints! Food is amazing, & the service is excellent.
Both of us greatly enjoyed our meal. May have been on of the best Italian meals we've had since visiting Italy. My Caprese salad had the freshest tomatos and basil. So good. I had an angel hair pasta with a wonderful tomato sauce that was incredible. Enjoyed it all with a glass of tasty prosecco. Husband had a mushroom and peas pasta that he felt was fabulous.
Enjoyed the meal! The pastas were delicious and we all loved the arugula and beet salad..the best dressing ever!
Food and waitress were good. Hostess needs some work on her social skills. Put us in a corner. Very tight and uncomfortable. We asked for a different table and she offered an equally bad table in front of a stone pillar. Rude and unaccommodating would best describe her style and mannerisms. My husband is a disabled retired Navy veteran and tight confines are uncomfortable for him due to injuries. In hindsight I regret not leaving restaurant at that point. We observed patrons arriving after us having their choice of seating. Unfortunate that one rude hostess was able to ruin what might have been an enjoyable dining experience. Will not be back nor would I recommend. Left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended).
Always Great Italian Food❤️
It was great!
We were on a business trip and selected this restaurant because it was rated #1 on Trip Advisor for restaurants in San Diego's Little Italy. It was very busy for a Monday night. The service was outstanding and attentive. I had the sea bass over linguini and my husband had the veal osso buco . The food was good but not memorable.
Excellent food like always. Service outstanding by Vincenzo.
We both ordered Osso Boco which was huge. We could have shared one because we had to bring 1/2 of each one's dish home. It was delicious and the risotto was excellent as well. We split a salad. It was a birthday celebration and we received a huge serving of Tiramisu which we split and for which we were not charged. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is always delicious.
There were three of us in our party. The service was just okay. Our waiter did everything but did not really interact with us. Nor did he respond when asked for more napkins. One person had the lasagna and loved it. Another had the chicken with vegetables and potatoes. That was a bit salty but tasty. The third person had one of the veal dishes and was really disappointed with the quality of the meat. If we went back we would all get a pasta dish.
Amazing food! Authentic! The osso buco (sp) with risotto was so tender and flavorful. The classic lasagna wa superb.
Wonderful good and great service!
Risotto is always my go-to, usually I rate a 5 star here, but tiramisu was sour this time:/ otherwise, as always, go for the risotto!
We enjoyed the homemade pasta and pink sauce! The service was great and so was the atmosphere! We love San Diego’s Little Italy!
Fantastic pork oso bucco and veal with mushroom pockets along with great service! Atmosphere was energetic yet cozy! Will be back!
Had a group for work and they accommodated 10 of us just fine. Food was great.
Very great food!!! Awesome service!!!! But very loud and hard to have a conversation with a big group of people:(
I love this place. They are connected to the restaurant next door (same exact menu) and both places are friendly, have good service and the food is incredibly tasty!
Excellent food, excellent service, awesome place. The pasta specials were especially good.
Nice little place among many other nice little places in Little Italy. We enjoyed the food, service and overall experience. We met a friend with Celiac disease, so gluten-free was important. Noun Appetito fit the bill nicely!
We sat outside and service was excellent! Food was very good not your typical Italian with red sauce as a matter of fact there were very few items with a red sauce. Except bread with red sauce was served and was my favorite part of the meal;)
Our server was friendly, attentive and on point. He made sure that we had everything we needed and would refill my iced tea when it was low. The pastas were perfectly al dente and my hubby absolutely loved his Risotto.
The first time I ate here was for a white elephant Christmas gathering. I loved the food and service so much that I made this reservation to meet with old friends. They were not disappointed and you won't be wither. It's not the quietest during rush hour (Duh!), but the food is great.
we reserved table for 5 people. Reservation was an easy even if New Year day. but problem our table review was a kitchen and restroom. I mean we can get same table without reservation. we were seeing how they cooked. I don’t prefer. my friend ordered his 2. drink but it took while 10min. food totally amazing, but service and seat area might not satisfied. also services charges 18%.
Fresh made italian food, excellent service, attentive waitress. Food was delicious, came as requested and in a timely manner. It was an excellent experience.
Great food and service! The only bad thing is the waiting tine, even if you have Reservation at least 20-30 minutes. But is worth it!
Bread and sauce were great. Veal “medallions” were tough. Meat sauce on pasta was ordinary. 30 min wait to sit after reserved time. Certainly popular, but far from the best Italian in town. Service brisk and effective
We make a reservation for an early dinner celebration. The servers were super nice, the bread and marinara are delicious. Food was amazing and portions were generous.
I tried the pork Ossobucco. Will definitely be back for more.
Really San Diego, this place gets good reviews? You all really need to get out more. I was in San Diego for 5 days trying places the city is known for. Most was average at best.
The food at Buon Appetito was also extremely average. In fact I could have gotten some Olivieri from the grocery and would have had a better meal.
Please get out into the world, try better food and up your game.
We made a reservation and were seated right away. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu. This was very helpful fornour first time. Loved the atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Every time I go to Buon Appetito I have to get the Osso Buco. This is their specialty and is defineately worth it. Great wine selection too!
