We live in CDM and dine often - always wonderful! We especially like the steaks, but the lobster is fantastic as well.
Restaurant Week menu is quite a bargain!
Great for lunch or dinner and open-air patio in the back is really fun for friends night out.

The food was delicious with an exceptional, artistic presentation of the chocolate mousse dessert in a petal shaped chocolate shell, and the service excellent.

Went for Restaurant Week but ordered off the regular menu. Ordered the beef dip and the New Orleans grilled cheese. Both were excellent. Love the shoestring potatoes. Great service. They also brought us the RW desert- it was excellent! Very pretty too.

I’ve been to the Bungalow many times-mostly because it’s in the neighborhood and easy to walk to. Since it’s inception(about 20 years), the menu hasn’t changed. It’s unfortunate since there are more and more chefs that are creative and change their menus seasonally.
This past Saturday I dined at The Bungalow after making last-minute reservations. Upon our foursome’s arrival I checked in with the hostess. She wanted to seat us outside even though there were empty booths and tables turning over soon. When I responded that we wanted an indoor table her comment was “when did you make your reservation”? I asked why that mattered. No response, just a snarky look.
After a few minutes they sat us at an indoor table. We ordered cocktails, wine and food. My main course was the Steak tartar. When they brought the tartar, the juice spilled all over while trying to set it on the table. The food runner took it back and re-delivered it. The steak tartar was GRAY! It looked as if E.T. was chopped-up and served! Gross! It tasted of lime and disgusting soggy raw meat. The waiter never came back to ask if the food was ok(he knew it wasn’t right). The rest of the parties food was just ok.
For a high-end restaurant in corona Del Mar to be this pathetic is disappointing. Change the chef/menu/decor and get with the times because there are many other choices.

The food was great. They honored all of my special requests without any problem. The chicken was juicy and tender. My husband had the rib eye and it was cooked perfectly . WE started with the artichoke and it was just ok. If it isn't season, leave them off the menu. For dessert my husband had the apple cobbler. Very large serving and he loved it.

Great service, delicious food. My friend and I went to celebrate a belated birthday dinner.
Everything was fabulous... shrimp cocktail, onion soup (the best!) wedge salad and she and I split the filet because we also wanted dessert and it was perfect! Our waiter was great, and NOT weird about us splitting an entrée.

We had an elderly, very cranky person with us. The server was very solicitous and helpful, and helped change the atmosphere at our table from one of confrontation to satisfaction.

We got there and realized the menu was the same as always but the prices seemed to be increased quit a bit as it was New Year’s Eve.

That is fine although other restaurants make it clear when there are special menus for special days. We were not informed.

We went for our anniversary. The food was fantastic and the service was great. When we got there they sat us in a quiet place for us to enjoy each other without all the noise. They also brought us a special treat to celebrate. It was a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.

This our first time here and thought it would be a great date night dinner. And it was! The host and bartender were great right off the bat. And Bobby our server was top notch. I got the holiday veal chop special and my wife got the swordfish. Both dishes were amazing. Definitely looking forward to coming back in the future. Thank you!

The service was excellent and our group enjoyed varied entrees. Of course, the bone in ribeye stood out, but the lamb, veal chop, and scallops were very, very good. We continue to return and they continue to provide a memorable, enjoyable experience.

Had dinner with my niece and her boyfriend after she finished her exams in law school and to celebrate a pre-Christmas dinner. The vibe of the dining room was eclectic. Each of our meals were just about the best that we have ever had. The sea bass was tender, flaky and had a wonderful glaze. I would certainly bring my friends in for some delectable meals.

We usually dine out when we spend Thanksgiving in the Newport area. This was our first time having Thanksgiving dinner at The Bungalow, and it was delicious. We had our choice of several meal options, each with a starter (soup, salad), entree, and dessert. The food portions were quite large, and each course was prepared perfectly. Service was fine, although our waiter was a bit preoccupied due to the restaurant being packed. We will definitely go back again so we can try the regular menu.

I would give Bungalow 10 stars. We went there Thanksgiving and it was packed. Our dinner was perfect. Hats off to wait staff and the kitchen. Most times you go our on a holiday the food is cold and overcooked. This was perfectly presented, turkey hot and moist.

Best restaurant in OC

Food and Service were very good.
Because it was a holiday, Thanksgiving, I was afraid that food and service were not going to be great. I was way off and everything was really good. Timing was also perfect when one course was complete, they were timed just right for the next course. All the help was friendly and if I needed something they were right on it.
Great job Bungalow!!

We were there for our anniversary. We were looking for a place that had good food and atmosphere, we were not disappointed!

We are accustomed to nice restaurants and had not found one in our area since moving to So.CAl last year. We have to go to LA or San Diego. We tried Bungalow because it showed up on OpenTable. We wanted somewhere nice and quiet, yet classy and quaint. From the valet to the entrance to being seated and throughout the meal, it was wonderful. It was nice a quiet for a husband and wife outing. We loved being there. Everyone/everything was excellent. I wanted halibut but they sold out so I had to have the salmon; it melted in my mouth. My husband had short ribs that fell off the bone. Both meals were 5stars!

The beef carpaccio & burrata salad were delicious. The main entree although tasty it was warm instead of hot - I had the short ribs which is delicious and such great comfort food but it has to be hot for it to be a delightful hit.
