The Bungalow has been our favorite place to dine when we have a special occasion for many years now. We go there many times every year and have always been impressed with the quality of the food and service. The menu is full of very creative and beautifully prepared and presented choices - and they never ever disappoint. Love everything about it!
Filet was fine, sides were great, butter cake is really great. Lobster dinner overcook and $80 as the A/Q is a bit high how it was prepared.
The first waitress was a snooty and annoying, second waitress was great.
Overall its a good neighborhood alternative. My first waitress acted as though they were executing a meal on par with The Cut, Mastro's or even Selanne's and I just didn't realize it.
It would have been more enjoyable without her telling me how to order my $300 meal since this wasn't my first.
We have been dining at the Bungalow occasionally for years. This visit was to meet up with family in town on business and spend a nice dinner together. The food was delicious, and we had a great time with no real pressure to get out on a quite evening.
One of our favorite restaurants in OC, or anywhere for that matter. My wife and I dine out almost nightly around Newport, Laguna and Bungalow has NEVER disappointed us. Great food, staff & ambiance.
Fabulous food and attentive service! We chose the Bungalow after having had a great Happy Hour experience in the bar a few weeks earlier. So happy we dined there! The food was fabulous! The wait staff was attentive without hovering. We will be back!!
Have always enjoyed our meals at Bungalow. You provide the answer to every reason for dining out...great food, great service and nicely appointed decor. The ambience creates a party- like experience, with the ability for four friends to converse as if they were not in a crowd. Over the years we have recommended your restaurant to others and like to bring out-of-town guests for dinner. Thanks for your attention to detail from entry to exit.
We thought the food was terrific. The service was just okay, but we felt somewhat rushed at the end. They brought the bill without even asking if we wanted coffee with our dessert. It seemed obvious to us that they wanted to turn the table. The restaurant was crowded but it didn't feel right and we were a bit uncomfortable with the end to the meal. Not sure I would recommend this restaurant because of this. Also not sure we would ever return because of it.
Food was cold and poorly prepared. Halibut was like rubber. Disappointing!
We first came here for a Christmas lunch when I discovered the Special Goose entree. Everyone had something different and we all loved the food, and the ambiance. Then I saw that they were participants in OC Restaurant week! So another opportunity! The Bungalow did not disappoint! Once again, the food was fabulous, the vegetarian options were excellent and we love the Butter Cake!! And the service was excellent as well! This is our go to for fun girls lunches and now dinner as well!
Everything was awesome with the exception of the table for two stuck in the corner it was quite small but we would do this again food was unbelievable
Great staff, pleasant, welcoming. Ambiance with dark wood, huge booths.
Food yummy, great choices for restaurant week.
We arrived at street level which was the bar and very noisy. We were led down two more flights to the covered patio with a beautiful fireplace. We sat near and enjoyed the warmth as it was a cool evening. We order drinks which came right away. I didn’t care for mine and was soon brought another. It was a while before he took our order and a long time to receive dinner. But when my lamb chops arrived they were delicious as well as desert. My friend liked his stake but thought mine was better. The only complaint was the slow service.
A pleasant experience. We'll be back! Thank you very much
Great little spot, it had been many years since our last visit. Perfect martini and chateaubriand for two, I highly recommend it.
OVERALL AMAZING!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone! Appetizers and entrees were delicious!! Service and atmosphere were great. The patio was perfect and cozy with lots of heaters even though it was a chilly night!! Will definitely be back!!
We eat at Bungalow often. The food and service is always excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner Saturday night. Friends get together so the nice cozy booth was great and Tonia our server was spectacular. Friendly, fun and very efficient. Food was delicious as well as cocktails. Bungalow has become a favorite of mine. Has a neighborhood vibe but with sophisticated food and atmosphere. Will be back soon.
Service and food were amazing!
The Bungalow is our go-to special occasion restaurant. It never disappoints, the food & beverages are amazing! Truly my favorite local dining experience❤️
Amazing food - miss glazed Chilean sea bass - scallops are excellent - you have to try their smoke dirty martini with bacon, blue cheese, jalapeno olives!!
Valentine's Day - At first miffed because they had a limited menu with set 3 course dinner and they added tables. But all was very good. The menu choices were everything that we wanted and it wasn't overly crowded with tables. Everything was perfectly cooked and service perfect as always. They have the best lobster. Highly recommend the Bungalow (Corona Del Mar).
We’ve been to the Bungalow two Thanksgivings and it’s a favorite of ours. This time, the food was nothing special and it kind of felt like a Southwest Airlines cattle call with the number of tables for expected guests. We were seated downstairs amongst empty tables when there were much better tables available. When we left an hour later, many tables were still open that would have given my wife and I a better experience. The Bungalow is capable of better.
As always, one of our favorite restaurants.....anywhere. I could write a full page but instead I'll just suggest you go and experience for yourselves. Can't beat it.
Good food. Not too loud for business dinner.
I don't feel like it is as good a restaurant as it was ten years ago. We had not been back for about 4-5 years, and were excited to return. Was a little disappointed as it did not bring back the positive vibes that we remembered from our many dinners there in the past when we lived closer to the restaurant.
The place is very popular, and one of the biggest problems is it is so Noisy. The table next to us had such a boisterous man talking that it felt like he was at our table. It is more crowded now than it used to be with perhaps a couple more tables added.
If you want a fun crazy bar and restaurant vibe then its a great place to go. If you want a intimate, comfortable, personal, private vibe then it is definitely not the place to go.
Props though to a restaurant that has always maintained a loyal following thru the toughest times in the restaurant industry.
The service and food was impeccable. Outstanding service the manager checked on us at least 3 times. The waiter was attentive and very personable. The food delicious. My husband had the special filet mignon on the bone so good. I chose the scallops with risotto, so fresh and good. The dessert was their house special butter cake with vanilla ice cream and raspberry coulis. We didn't leave a drop. I must say the only negative was that when we booked we did mention it was our anniversary and no one commented or said anything regarding our special occasion, did not offer any recognition of that fact.
Great seafood and awesome salads.
It was our first time there, and we saw the owner( or mgr) greet some people (prob friends) at a few tables right next to us. It would have been really classy and nice for him to take a few seconds and just check to see how the other diners (like us ) were also doing. I just think when you go to a restaurant a simple gesture like that goes a long way on making a good and lasting impression.
Ok I go here all the time for lunch. First time for dinner in a long time. Probably say I eat there twice a week. Booked this on Open Table for an early 6 pm table for 4. Got the worst 4 seat intersection to the dining room ever. Lady said you didn't request a booth. Oh oh. learning experience on Open table. Saw a table with those nice booths open and they said no its for one of our restaurant investors. Thank god we are there early at 6 there was a high top at the bar area for four. Ok Becky our server was first class. Our food was just ok. Cesar salad and Char risotto with shrimpy rice. Loved that Kevin manager said hey even bartenderdress Ally? said hey 50 feet from the bar. Loved the menu you do for Ritz week but not the Ritz egg. and your devotion to service and great employees. I will come back for lunch.
Love, love, love this restaurant. A wee “bump” in that it would have even cozier in a booth.
My granddaughter loved her French Onion Soup!
We had a great server, so glad he is back. Fun evening, good food, excellent service. We will be back soon.
Great meal, food, and service. Wife annoyed by loud Customer.
Love the Bungalow CDM. I've been coming here for years! Took my boyfriend for his 40th birthday and he loved it! We had the Filet Mignon and Seabass which were lovely and buttercake for dessert. Everything was divine and suggested by our server Tina who you should ask for specifically! She gave us fab suggestions, amazing service and clearly enjoys what she does for a living. The only downfall is a group of lawyers talking about an unsavory topic. That was the only minus but out of the control of the restaurant.
Really good atmosphere. Good food and attentive service
Great evening with family, enjoying conversation and restaurant week dining. Couldn't have made a better choice.
Lovely dining experience all around, my friend and I had the sea bass and wild rice salad and my husband had the burger. All were excellent!
I've never had a bad meal at the Bungalow. This was Newport Beach Restaurant Week so the meal was not only superb, but well priced. We all enjoyed our time there, as usual.
We like to dine here.
We asked for our salads and surf & turf at same time (we clarified 3 times at time of ordering that we wanted at same time ) and salads still came first...20 min later came out steak- ruined the whole idea.
When the wait staff does not take the time to listen to the clients it can ruin the dinner.
We live in CDM and dine often - always wonderful! We especially like the steaks, but the lobster is fantastic as well.
Restaurant Week menu is quite a bargain!
Great for lunch or dinner and open-air patio in the back is really fun for friends night out.
Food wasn't up to par this time.. okay but a bit off.. Cobb salad had too much dressing .. overall everything was fine
