Minced tenderloin, diced shallots, chopped capers, truffle aioli, soft poached egg, gaufrette potatoes
8 oz., Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, fried shallots
5 oz., Maine lobster tail, garlic butter sauce, heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil
Excellent food and service. Noisy with a pleasant energetic beat. Feels quite "with it."
Excellent food! Will come back again for more great food!
Great Happy Hour menu and prices for both food & drinks. Love the small plates and great service we received from Ciera!! Excellent waitress.
Excellent choice in CDM, with attentive service and a wide range of entree choices. We went on Wednesday night, with a special three-course bbq menu which was delicious and reasonably priced. There outside patio has good social distancing, and is quiet. We'll be back.
Great place for a little romantic dinner. They have a prime rib special on Sunday’s which was great. I asked for medium rare but it was more rare so just FYI. It’s a 3 course for a great price!! My husband had the filet mignon It was fabulous!!
Good variety of dishes. The food is well prepared and servings are good size. The staff is friendly and work efficiently.
We had a wonderful meal here and the staff was so kind and helpful. I had the sea bass which was THE BEST EVER! My husband had the prime rib and was totally pleased. I wasn’t crazy about the blood orange marguerita but that was not a problem! Definitely we will return!
Went there for Restaurant week and to celebrate a Birthday. Service was great and the food was TERRIFIC
We went to the Bungalow and were sat in the covered parking lot area. It was nice, but did not provide the ambiance of the regular outdoor seating area. There was a large group of young adults being very loud, almost obnoxious sitting behind us. That made it difficult to enjoy the first portions of our meal as we could not even hear each other across the table. However, that aside, the waitstaff was spectacular and attentive. Our glasses were always full. The Manager came over to see how things were and was friendly and welcoming. We both took advantage of the OC Restaurant Week special and had the Lobster. It was some of the best lobster I have ever had. The blood orange margarita was really tasty as well. I would definitely come back.
Casual dinner with my daughter and Goddaughter from NY.
Was looking to go spend some money on my lady and found this place. Very close to the beaches so we did beaches things before and after. The food was fantastic, I mean the filet was on another level in terms of quality and flavor. My lady enjoy her salad and salmon a lot as well so overall not too bad of an experience. If you’re looking for a quality meal there’s no better place than this one.
Eating in a parking lot. Acceptable for the times.
Getting a surprise $9.99 fee if I wanted to use my credit card. Unacceptable at a high-end restaurant like Bungalow.
Had dinner during restaurant week. Good selection fair value for a 3 course meal. Service excellent. Only negative was it was pretty noisy in the outside patio (tent) location. Would recommend and will go again.
Restaurant week menu was a nice value. Delicious corn chowder, steak and sea bass both excellent. Very good cheesecake. Only small problem was the first creme brûlée that was served had no brittle crust. Our great waiter promptly replaced it.
COVID dining outside had little ambiance but was safe.
Our favorite restaurant !!
We were seated outside, at our request. It was right next to valet parking at the rear of the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was great. Best salad, Bone in Ribeye steak delicious, Miso Sea Bass was the best we ever had and Beef Ribs were fabulous !. Desserts were very good too ! This is a great restaurant, highly recommend.
We were there during Restaurant Week on a Weds night so they also had their weekly specials for Weds which included baby back ribs..or so the menu said....but whatever we got was not baby back ribs and it was not tender and easy to eat. Certainly the meat was not falling off the bones, which is what I would have expected for the price and location. The sides were poorly done and we wondered if the baked beans were just from a can they were so unappetizing. The desserts were delicious though. All in all, the cost of the meal was definitely not worth what we paid and not what we expected in quality and taste Perhaps other entrees would be better, but we are not inclined to return.
Bungalow is one of our very favorite places, and it's been too long since we've been there!
We celebrated our 30th anniversary and it was indeed a special night. The food was spectacular and the service team were very attentive. We are very lucky to have this gem in our area.
If you like a perfectly cooked steak, I recommend the filet. Juicy and delicious!
Ollie soon to be seven-year-old was so enthusiastic about the slider hamburgers and french fries. The blackened salmon was exceptional, The Chilean Seabass was out of this world. They did a great job of creating an outdoor restaurant in these strange times. We will be back soon!
Our waiter Sean was amazing and the food was awesome too! Loved the smoked dirty martini!
My wife got sick from the salad not sure it it was good poisoning or what , disappointment
Never had issues with their food before
Pre Anniversary dinner and what a treat to dine inside FINALLY !! Food was great, cocktails on point and great vibe !!
Wonderful birthday dinner for my husband and mom. Steaks cooked to perfection, as usual. 😊
Love that place
Warm hospitality- great food- excellent service!
The service was great. The food was mediocre. Ribeye was bland and the salmon was overcooked.
Our favorite go to restaurant. Great service, great food.
Great food and good service. However, no enforcement of the mask mandate. Tables were too close together and I was only 2-3 feet from the next diner, who also seemed to be the owner or former owner, and walked around talking to patrons maskless, and had no courtesy to wear his mask the many times he passed our table within 12-24”. No enforcement. People came and went without wearing masks. One waiter wore only a face shield. No hand sanitizer available. The management of this establishment is obviously not taking Covid seriously.
My husband and I did not feel safe. I prefer restaurants handling food also believe in the science of microbes and sanitation. Likely will not return.
Everything was excellent, except for the Potato Gratin, which was watery, undercooked and did not have enough cheese.
We enjoyed our late afternoon Sunday dinner and the special veal chop was a delight.
Other people that got here after us were having there order taken:(
Ordered the $70 lobster and it was dry!
Food and service were great!
We were moved to a quiet table for two in the corner and it was perfect.
Everyone is trying to figure out how to do good service and ambiance during Covid.
Unfortunately the tables in the tent in the parking lot where we were seated may have been six feet apart, but when people were seated they were very close. Most wore masks to the hostess stand but several parties not at all. The bussers who wore face shields were always above us so any particles would have come down on us. With that being said the noise level was also so high our server had to almost be in our faces in order for us to hear her. For these reasons alone I probably would not go back until things can be better.
The food was just okay with the lobster bisque a bit too smoky paprika flavored for my taste and the lobster chunks rubbery and tasteless. Left most of it. The artichokes were fine but the special dish of swordfish and shrimp skewers with chickpea salad was mixed. The swordfish was excellent but the shrimp overdone and chickpea salad odd.
Service was attentive when at our table, but forgot to bring our wine until we reminded the server after our bisque had arrived. Also told us she was loosing her voice which made us nervous. We were comped two chocolate chip cookies which were delicious.
Nice place. Will go again.
Always a great time at the Bungalow. Food is fantastic and the staff is always helpful and pleasant. A great restaurant.
The Bungalow is our “go-to” restaurant in Newport Beach/CDM. The food is always good. The wait staff is always on top of their game and the bartenders know how to mix a drink. And as an added bonus, Sunday nights they have a good prime rib special. It’s just an easy place to go, so we go often.
This restaurant is a neighborhood gem. They now have a large tent with plenty of airflow in the parking lot, but you would never know it was a tent. The service, ambience and food were amazing. Support this local restaurant!
