The food was delicious with an exceptional, artistic presentation of the chocolate mousse dessert in a petal shaped chocolate shell, and the service excellent.
We were in the library and it was quieter than the rest of the restaurant. Very good.
Always a pleasure to eat here with friends.. good service, love the booths .. also good for larger parties down stairs
Went for Restaurant Week but ordered off the regular menu. Ordered the beef dip and the New Orleans grilled cheese. Both were excellent. Love the shoestring potatoes. Great service. They also brought us the RW desert- it was excellent! Very pretty too.
I’ve been to the Bungalow many times-mostly because it’s in the neighborhood and easy to walk to. Since it’s inception(about 20 years), the menu hasn’t changed. It’s unfortunate since there are more and more chefs that are creative and change their menus seasonally.
This past Saturday I dined at The Bungalow after making last-minute reservations. Upon our foursome’s arrival I checked in with the hostess. She wanted to seat us outside even though there were empty booths and tables turning over soon. When I responded that we wanted an indoor table her comment was “when did you make your reservation”? I asked why that mattered. No response, just a snarky look.
After a few minutes they sat us at an indoor table. We ordered cocktails, wine and food. My main course was the Steak tartar. When they brought the tartar, the juice spilled all over while trying to set it on the table. The food runner took it back and re-delivered it. The steak tartar was GRAY! It looked as if E.T. was chopped-up and served! Gross! It tasted of lime and disgusting soggy raw meat. The waiter never came back to ask if the food was ok(he knew it wasn’t right). The rest of the parties food was just ok.
For a high-end restaurant in corona Del Mar to be this pathetic is disappointing. Change the chef/menu/decor and get with the times because there are many other choices.
I wish they would return the fish lettuce wraps to their lunch menu. Lunch menu need some lighter choices. The dinner menu is great,
The food was great. They honored all of my special requests without any problem. The chicken was juicy and tender. My husband had the rib eye and it was cooked perfectly . WE started with the artichoke and it was just ok. If it isn't season, leave them off the menu. For dessert my husband had the apple cobbler. Very large serving and he loved it.
Great service, delicious food. My friend and I went to celebrate a belated birthday dinner.
Everything was fabulous... shrimp cocktail, onion soup (the best!) wedge salad and she and I split the filet because we also wanted dessert and it was perfect! Our waiter was great, and NOT weird about us splitting an entrée.
Loved every minute!! I haven’t had this good of an experience at a restaurant in a long time. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great date night.
Wonderful food, excellent service even in New Years Eve.
