Our waiter, whom I am sure has been there a long time as we have had him before has no personality
and is rather rude. The food took a long time to come and the manager came by to say that it would be there soon. My husband's fish was the special of the day and was like a tail and not good.
We have eaten there before and always like the food. My Seabass was delicious and the lamb chops were
good that my friend had. When asking for a glass of wine, the waiter did not even ask what kind and didn't even remember what kind of Sauvignon Blanc you had. He never asked my friend what kind of Pinot Noir that he would like. He just said he would bring a glass.
One of the worst, overpriced meals I’ve had in quite some time.
It was so great -- we are planning our holiday party there too.
Good Food and Good Ambiance. We enjoyed the Bungalow for lunch and will try dinner next time.
$15 lunch special great value!
Barney, our server, was excellent - extremely attentive, but never imposing. The food was excellent and we sat outside because the weather was just right. The traffic noise was noticeable, but not really bothersome... and the sun & breeze made it all worthwhile. Looking forward to returning to Bungalow soon.
Nice venue and good food. However, server brought us the wrong wine - didn't know the vineyard mattered! asked us to experiment with it and didn't offer to correct her error. Charged us for dessert that we didn't order. then took almost 15 minutes to correct it. not a good experience with her. Tainted the experience.
Incredible. Thank you Jim Walker
This was our fourth visit to The Bungalow. Each time it gets better and better. Food, drink and service is tops. You are treated like a friend in the neighborhood. It's become our favorite restaurant.
Look out for the 3% credit card charge that they add to the bill which they don’t tell you until the bill comes!
We ordered off the dinner menu as the lunch menu was too informal for our guests. The food was very good. However the bill for 4 was close to $200 which wasn’t unexpected but at this price level to charge a credit card service fee of 2 to 3 percent infuriated me
We were celebrating my birthday and decided to try a new restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our waitress was fantastic, the food delicious and ambiance great. We will definitely return.
My 50th Birthday.
They did nothing for me.
But that was not the problem.
The drinks arrived with salt, we did not order salt.
I asked her to change mine, she waited 15 minutes and brought me a new glass to pour it into. By then the drink was contaminated with the salt and no longer tasted as it should.
We ordered Mac & Cheese and Brussels Sprouts for sides, we are still waiting for them. I asked her if I could have the Sea Bass without the Soy, she came back to the table and said yes but the Sea Bass will taste and smell very fishy. Her words. So, do you think it’s fresh? Do you think they are preparing it right? I’m going to guess NO. Same with the Ahi. So, I agreed to the Swordfish, but said NO Asparagus please, I’ll have the Broccoli and Mac & Cheese.... It came with Asparagus and Broccoli only. My plate was decently sized and then my Better Half’s was evidently the Petite Dinner, which he did NOT order. We ordered the Warm Goat Salad, again, his barely had any goat cheese and mine had enough for our side of the restaurant. Loaded with dressing ... Probably to cover up the smell? J/K ... but that’s what I thought as I recalled her comment about the fish. Pretty sad experience. Never was asked if we wanted dessert.... I asked for a booth, they sat us in a 2 person table with people walking past us constantly and the waitress was either new or having a bad day, she couldn’t get anything right and she was barely around... Not worth it.
Really nice meal. Management was very accommodating. Food was great. Restaurant shows pride of ownership. I will be back.
Dinner and service were good until the end. We ordered short ribs, scallops, salmon and a New York. All meals were delicious as was the pear salad. The problems started when we ordered desert. We were told the featured cheesecake was plain with chocolate topping so we ordered it. What arrived was pumpkin cheesecake. Apparently they were out of the original and nobody knew it. Dessert was comped and we moved onto the check. The check included a 3.75% service fee that we weren’t told about ahead of time. We all thought that was in very bad taste. Just add it to your prices. Don’t sneak it in at the end and hope no one will notice. Not sure if we’ll be back
What a wonderful surprise on all fronts. It was much better than I had anticipated. The bone in filet was excellent and the service was excellent. Also, very good wines by the glass but be ready to splurge.
The food was too pricey for what you get and food was cold.
Great casual atmosphere on the back patio. The food and service were perfect!
It was just ok was hoping for better food. The patio is nice however the tables needed place mats or a tablecloth
Never will go back. Overpriced over cooked and it smelled funny inside. They also charge you a credit card fee.
Beautiful setting. We sat out in the patio. It was not too cold and the ambience and decor was lovely. The service was excellent and the food was very good. They had run out of one of the main dishes, but the waiter was very appoligetic and was able to provide very good suggestions for replacements.
Our service was exceptional. That being said the food was good but my filet was a tad overcooked and the truffle Mac and cheese was more mac and not any truffle. When our bill came we noticed that the credit card charge was more than what our bill was. Thinking this was a mistake we asked for our waiter to come over because we wanted to make sure we had the correct bill. Our waiter never came back, instead the manager came and told us that they charge a 3% fee on top of your total bill as some sort of service charge for using a credit card and walked away. No where is it posted or explained that this is their normal practice not does it say on the bill. It only amounted to around $5 but that’s not really the point.
Great business lunch meeting place
My wife and I met another couple for lunch at Bungalow - and requested a booth for quiet conversation. In fact, they had a booth ready for us upon arrival and it was perfect - just the right size for 4 people and it was perfectly quiet for conversation and catching up with old friends. The food was delicious! The service was excellent...the price was very reasonable for what we had - a great experience all around.
Never disappoints. Great food and service. A true neigborhood gem, great place for date night, girls night, family and friends.
The service and good were excellent. I took my son who had just flown in from Denver on a business trip. He goes to many fine restaurants all across the country and he loved it.
Very good food at a reasonable price. Service was promt.
Great as always!!!
just be prepared to be jolted every once in a while when a lunatic cyclist drives on PCH...that's the only down side, and i guess one could always sit in the back patio.
The Bungalow has been my favorite restaurant for the past five years. This time my food was not up to the usual excellent quality And to top it off I was appalled that a top end restaurant has now stooped to adding a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. Definitely not the behavior of a top tiered restaurant. Will no longer take business meetings here after this
Best restaurant on the west coast
It was my first trial visit to the restaurant. We were a little early and were kindly led to sit in the waiting area for drinks by Sarah. Then, we were led to the table next to the window side, a comfortable section for quiet conversation. The server, Chris, was an experienced person explaining the special of the day with courtesy. We ordered two appetizers, grilled artichoke and sweet Chili calamari, which was a bit too sweet. Five of us ordered one prime rib, 4 filet mignons, and one lobster spaghettini. Every order was well prepared. Two creme brulees were served as dessert, good choices. It was a wonderful evening!
Our server Chris was excellent and the foos was delicious! Bread is to die for
Great restaurant. Seated very close to two large groups, which made it a little loud.
Dining room next door to bar and the separation between the two areas was poor and resulted in too much noise in the dining area
Great meal & cocktails!
Very good selection of food - and was very delicious. Service was also excellent.
Was not as good as it usually is. Sauces peppercorn as well as bearnaise were not good. Ordered New York Strip rare+ came our medium. Was sent back and re done. Service was excellent. Onion soup and caesar salad were excellent. Pork chop, filet and sea bass were also excellent. Desert was also excellent.
We love the Bungalow. The food is always delicious and served perfectly. We were actually late due to a Lyft issue, and they were still able to seat us in a booth as requested.
