Always great steak
Wonderful food, and the remodel looks great. I took a friend for a birthday meal, and we both had the chilean seabass. I do think it tastes better with mashed potatoes but the risotto was very good.
I wasn't going to eat my whole plate...but...it disappeared somehow.
Not a cheap place: 1 glass of moderate Chardonnay, 2 soups, 2 entrees, and 1 birthday chocolate souffle will set you back $141 + tips. Good thing that birthday is once a year :-)
I have been going to the Bungalow for almost 15 years. The service and food has almost every time been exceptional. Rarely is anything a miss. This particular night it was very quiet! We had the lower patio all to ourselves, that was very rare for a Saturday night! The food was outstandingly amazing. The service, unmatched. Easy to park - valet in back. ( Although I would like to have that included instead of a separate charge even though it's only a few dollars. ) It's a great place to go and eat. Try it, you'll like it.
Everything was really great, although we felt a little rushed. Food was fantastic...great local CDM dining.
I had eaten at Bungalow several times previously, and it had been delicious. This time it was so disappointing.
I had the swordfish which was very mediocre as were the accompanying vegetables. I ordered the apple crisp for desert, and it was terrible. Just a mush of apples smothered in whipped cream.
My dinner companion had the steak special and said it was delicious. It was her birthday so I was glad hers was delicious.
The Halibut especially was very good . The service was poor. Our server Chris was very impersonal and would not make eye contact. The butter cake was burnt and we weren’t able to tell him because he never came to check on us . The overall experience was still good . I would not want him to serve us again come suffering we paid over 300 dollars and got very poor service
Service and food left a lot to be desired. Both steaks were way over cooked and very dry. Sides were over cooked and dry. Flavors just weren’t really very good. And the service was worse than what you’d expect at a much less expensive restaurant. For 3 of us our meal was $275....a terrible value vs. many other choices in the area. In a competitive market with lots of great restaurants, this was a big let down. I left feeling like I got ripped off for what u got...and I eat out 10-15 times a week and haven’t felt that way anywhere else I eat.
Did not enjoy the remodeled section of this wonderful restaurant. It was very loud in there and couldn't hear each other talking and was very bright. Booths were taken out for their remodel and tables were put in their place on top of each other. I was shocked when I saw this "library" room where I asked to be seated to find this room that doesn't even go with the vibe of the rest of the restaurant. The waitress was curt. But always the food was amazing. It's too bad they remodeled the "library" room - which took away the coziness and ambiance. Not sure I would like to go back and I've been going there for years. So sad this icon of a restaurant has been altered to modernism.
Everything we had from the steak tartare starter to the chocolate lava cake was delicious! Service by Sean OG was perfect! Hostess Sara was great.
Food was great, our server Heather was outstanding. Had a great time. Had not been to the restaurant in quite some time we will be coming back soon.
The Bungalow is always outstanding, every time. It is our favorite place to celebrate. The cuisine is scrumptious, fresh and creative. The service is superb. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
Great restaurant, excellent food and terrific service
This booking was to celebrate two Birthdays. I had specified an indoor table, so was a little less than happy that there was no consultation and an outdoor table was set. Thankfully, there was a fireplace and heaters, but seating was cramped and the ambience was spoilt by an overly noisy couple at the close proximity table and seating that was uncomfortable to say the least. Food was terrific and cannot be faulted and worth the visit alone, but service started off good, but tailed off to being very absent at the end. I would visit Bungalow again for the food, but considering two confirmations were given, they had the perfect opportunity to convey no indoor seating was available and chose not to do so. At such a cost, I would have expected a little better.
I was not impressed with the food at all. The food was bland, and the description on the menu didn't really match what was on my plate. When somethings says "roasted" on the menu and you're told it goes in a fryer....that's misleading.
First visit. Great experience overall.
Super friendly service and wonderful menu options.
Great three course meal options for restaurant week. The Lobster was absolutely fabulous!
I enjoy my experience at the Bungalow every time. It is an excellent example of casual fine dining.
We went for the restaurant week menu. The salads and mains were wonderful. The dessert was unexciting.
Good food at a reasonable price. Selection on menu has a wide variety.
This place is amazing!! Food is delicious, specially the seafood and filet mignon. Friendly staff.
What an exceptional dinner. My wife had the sea bass which was to die for. It melted in your mouth. I had the salmon which was done perfectly and tasted exceptionally good. We always get the best tasting food without comparison.
Good place to go for a healthy lunch but get the chocolate cup desert, wow wow wee
This was my second visit to The Bungalow for lunch. It is such a cozy place to dine especially so with all the cold, rainy weather we've had lately. Both times the food has been delicious and the service gracious. I have gone to take advantage of Restaurant Week specials, but after having such a great experience I will be back.
You won’t get a quiet romantic dinner here. Upstairs or down noise level is off-the-charts. You litterally have to yell!
We met with an old friend that we hadn't seen for 48 years for 2 of us and 20 years for one of us so we had a lot of catching up to do and reminiscing. The wait staff were wonderful to let us sit and visit for about 3 hours and yet were aware of the need for water, coffee refills, etc. We very much appreciated that and left a good size tip given that our wait staff probably could have served 2 sets of guests instead of just ours. We will be back.
This was a nice restaurant but is out of date. Food was good and so was service, but needs update.
Bungalow is one of our favorites for special occasions. Very comfortable ambiance.
It was our first time but definitely won't be the last! Food was delicious, service just right and a perfect place to have a nice Saturday evening. Can't wait to return!
Had a great evening for my wife's birthday. Our hostess Alliyson, did a great job providing space and meeting our needs when requested. Lobster and Chillean Bass A+...and so was bottle of wine.
Always have enjoyed the lay-back culture and the booth in main dining area. Thank you, John Janis
The food is good but it’s hard to justify the price. I’m from San Francisco and it’s high even for there considering the overall experience.
Great ambiance! We were seated 15 minutes prior to our reservation time. Staff was courteous and helpful. Drinks and food were brought to our table in a reasonable time.
Good food, good value, and great buttet cake 👍
Came for Valentines. Food, Drinks, and service all made it a very special night. Can’t wait to go back.
Food ok. Nice waiter. Sat in the lower and they banged a door loudly every few minutes serving the poor cold diners that sat outside. Won’t be back. Seats so close that you could not have a private discussion. The couple next to us, coughed a lot, and I saw waves in my soup. Ok that’s a embellishment but not by much.
The staff took great care of us and even moved us to ensure we were out of the cold air. I know this seems standard things to do for your customers. But again, the staff was consistent in everything to make sure we were comfortable and the food was satisfying.
The food is always good and service as well. It’s definitely a bit expensive but the experience is worth it.
the food was definitely worth the price some of the best food i’ve has
