Bull & Bear Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
I did the reservation on my phone and wanted Saturday night but never saw that the only openings were for Sunday and ended up booking the wrong night. We showed up a day early for our reservation. The desk staff could not have been more helpful. They handled it and made us feel at ease and even though they were booked they arranged a table for us. Cannot say enough about how professional and warm they were in a situation that was not their fault. Instead of pointing out my mistake they make us feel welcome. One of those moments of truth when someone can quote you their policy and point out your mistake or welcome you with open arms. They handled it so warmly it left a lasting impression. Great job ladies..... From the captain to the servers to Luis the manager everything was flawless. The Allen brothers prime strip steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The table side Caesar salad was excellent. My wife ordered the fried chicken which was out of this world and is something other diners have raved about. The preparation takes multiple days and the result is something extraordinary. The frites fried in tallow were the icing on the cake. As a local I never paid much attention to the Waldorf complex and its restaurants but this will be our new go to restaurant when my wife and I dine out. When we picked up our car from valet a nice wrapped all butter pound cake with a note from Luis the restaurant manager was sitting on the dash thanking us for visiting them. First class experience all the way and the value for the experience was amazing. From the front door to the departure every little detail was perfect. Kudos for placing so much emphasis on delivering wow to your guests.
Delivery of entree and desert were very slow, but the waiter recognized it and apologized and actually compensated us by not charging for desert.
frittes and mashed potatoes were way too salty and frittes were almost inedible. We ate them both though! We mentioned to staff servicing the table and they took that off the bill as well. Not our intention at all.
Overall service and quality of steaks made up for any deficiencies
Mood and lighting are perfect for a special date. The service was prompt as well and you felt very well attended to and accommodated. The chef sent a complimentary dish to our table of four since it was our first visit. The valet service was quick and complimentary with our dinner reservation. The waiter had our vehicles pulled around without me having ask. The definition of 5 star service.
When we travel to this area from the West Coast, we try to include Bull & Bear in our plans. The service and the quality of the food has always been excellent. The staff makes my wife and I feel like they remember us; maybe they do. The chef keeps things seasonal and varied enough that we always have something new to try.
This time it was a Porterhouse for me and the halibut for my wife. The former was aged and perfectly prepared. We will back.
Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding, again. This was my second visit and it could not have been better each time. Although the restaurant and bar were both full it was not noisy. We were able to carry on a conversation at normal volume. Also, we never felt like the tables were crowded together. The food was amazing. Lobster bisque and heirloom tomato salad to start. Our main courses were short ribs, filet mignon, seasonal vegetables and two different potatoes. All to perfection. Can’t speak about dessert, no room! The service was impeccable. I cannot see how this place could get a bad review. Can’t wait to go back.
The memory of the evening will be with me forever! If you have the chance, I highly recommend Tim to be your waiter. He is a waiter like no other. Tim has the ability to show how your reaction will be while eating each item on the menu, and to see he him eat every dish while describing it was amazing. I went with an old time friend to catch up on life, and we left with an OMG feeling on every bite. We decided on sharing the 2 steaks we ordered, the NY Strip and the American Kobe, and they are out out of this world. Tim hit it right on the nose on everything from the taste and the OMG feeling we would have. I am a regular at my local Morton's, and the tasting of B&B's stakes are leaps and bounds above. The sides are amazing, and the Bacon Mac and Cheese blew all the other sides out of the atmosphere. I believe the staff will do anything to make your experience the best ever. I just got back to my home town, and this experience is one of my highlights I am telling everyone.
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and what an amazing experience! From beginning to end, it was nothing short of spectacular. The waiters are extremely knowledgeable and gave us the complete rundown on any dish or wine we inquired on - you can tell they really do their homework. We sat in sofas and they were extremely quick to bring pillows for even more comfort. The ambiance was very classy but not so stuffy that you couldn't laugh out loud at something (I like to laugh, obviously). The menu is an iPad and excuse me but I was so blown away - it was totally interactive! Wines sorted by region, varietal, food pairings? Yes, please! And they don't rush you out, either. We were here for nearly 2 hours and it felt like 30 minutes. They gave us the creme brulee on the house even after we said we couldn't eat another bite. Stellar service. Incredible food (we had the Wagyu steak, New York Prime, potato pave, mac n cheese w/applewood smoked bacon and creamed corn). I would recommend this place to EVERYONE.
If you come to Disney or the Orlando area, this is a MUST! We visit from New York and we make sure Bull & Bear is on our agenda each trip. Tim is amazing and remembers everything from our previous dining experiences even going back for years! He makes the entire dining experience one you will never forget. The food is outstanding. We always have the pasta explosion to start, we love the steaks and never leave without the chocolate bar dessert. The drinks or wine are always special. Since we are in NYC and feel we are blessed to have amazing places to eat, we are very picky. Bull & Bear in Orlando, hands down is amazing! If you are debating on coming, stop and make your reservation. Jeanne & Vito
Absolutely the best meal and service I’ve experienced since French Laundry! The staff was as exceptional as the food... and that’s saying a lot. Thank you Marshall, Aaron and Eric for providing the almost lost art of your profession. You all are artists!!
It was amazing as always. We have been coming to Bull & Bear for an anniversary dinner every year for the last 3 years. They always seat us at the table in the coner so we can watch the fireworks from Disney during dinner. The service is always amazing. The food is always beyond amazing. I’ve been to many many restaurants and this is in my top 3 favorites of all time.
Pricey but outstanding. I will say that the table side Ceasar is the best Ceasar I have ever eaten. The special of the night was a bone in ribeye which was cooked perfectly medium rare. We started with a seafood tower which was very good and had their equivalent of French fries as a side (amazing). Expect close to 100 per person with beer and/or wine. Service was excellent. How we their broilers broke early in the evening and they called to let us know. We decided to keep our reservation and to our delight the boilers were back up when we arrived. That is the only reason Service was given 4 stars.
We enjoyed another amazing meal at one of our favourite dining spots while in Orlando. The service is always exceptional. From the moment we walked in my husband felt celebrated (we were celebrating his birthday). We both thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails and I highly recommend the Mary Pickford. The fried chicken is to die for and should not be missed when visiting The Bull and Bear. The presentation of our desserts were outstanding topping off a perfect meal.
Great restaurant! Wonderful atmosphere and service. I could have eaten a gallon of the corn soup. The chateaubriand was good but not exceptional and the cheesecake wasn't as good as the cheesecake we had ordered the night before through room service. I thought they would be the same but a bit different. However, over all, a great place to take a date and I would go back.
Having been to most of Orlando's upscale steakhouses, was looking for somewhere new to celebrate my out of town family's birthday and anniversary and decided to try Bull and Bear. I could not have been happier. Service was attentive without being too attentive. The food was outstanding. We started with a amuse-bouche of Waygu beef, then enjoyed the chateaubriand and filet. The desserts were equally delicious -- the beignets with three sauces and the crème brulee. The ambiance of this special occasion restaurant does not disappoint.
Amazing place to celebrate our 35th Anniversary. Everything was fabulous. Incredible steaks, lobster bisque, tableside ceasar, and lemon dessert. Great wines by the glass to create interesting pairings. Service was fabulous. But the highlight was the bar! Tiny but Justin and Justin produce thee most incredible cocktails. Bourbon and rye selection, coupled with their knowledge is worth the trip alone. Went back a second night just to eat at the bar and sip delicious offerings.
Have eaten at this restaurant several times over the years, it has become one of our favourites anywhere in the world. However , this time the food fell well short of the mark. It was over $500 for a meal for 2 adults 2 kids - not unexpected as we’d been many times before but still pretty pricey by anyone’s standards for what we ate. Between us we had no starters, 4 mains, a couple of sides and only 1 desert, no coffee, 1 aperitif and 1 bottle of moderately priced wine ($70 ish) In the past, I’d have said it was expensive but absolutely worth it, the steak being some of the best I have ever eaten (tomahawk used to be amazing that’s for sure) but this time the meat was partly tough and stringy (we shared a porterhouse for 2) but soft and pappy for the filet part of that. The veg were massively salty - the bull and bear special fries were so salty none of us could eat them so they went to waste. There is no doubt the intentions are good here and the waiting staff are excellent, but the previous levels of food excellence we’re just nowhere to be seen this time sadly. We had another reservation for a return on the 30th of this month, but I have cancelled this as I just don’t think it will be the amazing experience it used to be/should be or worth the investment. Sorry Bull and Bear.
