This will not have a meaning as the Waldorf is closing and so is Bill and Bear. Were there for nostalgia. Everything about the meal was wrong for the super high price especially. The meal was warmed over the waiter did not understand the wine we ordered, was rude and never around and a sicker shocker price. Good the place is closing.

Of course the decor and the atmosphere is lovely and I certainly hope the city makes sure the Art Deco effects are kept intact.

We are long time fans/customers and are upset they'll be shut down for 2-3 years. Totally disappointed with management's decisions prior to closing in March. Menu was extremely limited and they eliminated many of the most popular dishes. My wife loves the lobster but it was not on the menu. It's sad for a restaurant with such a storied history to go out with a fizzle instead of a bang. They should have closed it early rather than cut back.

As this restaurant is closing soon, it was severely understaffed. Our table and every table around us were not happy. Took 20 minutes to get a drink, another 45 to get our food and were not checked on to see if we wanted another drink. Took 45 minutes after eating main course to get table cleared and get a dessert menu. Last year for our anniversary was one of the best meals ever, this year one of the worse.

Even though they are closing its doors in less than two weeks; this venue continues to execute with excellence right down to the last detail. Easy to see why and how the Waldorf Astoria NYC is noted with setting the standard for hospitality.

As for the Bull and Bear specifically; had both dinner on a busy saturday and brunch the next morning. While the service at dinner was a little "spotty" -we had two or 3 waiters introduce themselves as our server and even the manager served us..we did not want for or miss anything. I think they were overcompensating which in hindsight is not necessarily a bad thing.

Food was fresh, hot, and delicious. Waldorf Salad,Seafood platter and rack of lamb all on point.
While perhaps a little pricy there are options to spend less (like different sizes of the seafood platter app-which was nice for my wife as an entree).

If you haven't been...go and experience history before it is too late!

Since they are closing in a couple weeks, we had no alcohol that we liked, the wine menu was just a few bottles of left overs, the wait staff could care less about serving us let alone asking for water about 4 times. It was a horrible experience. Don't waste your time.

This restaurant will be closed in March due to the fact they are renovating over the next 3 years the Waldorf Astoria. Therefore, there is no point in reviewing the restaurant.

I was not happy at all. I've been to high end restaurants before and let me tell you....I was let down. First off....I know some places cut up your meat but they let you know first. I ordered a 46oz Porterhouse. I requested it med-rare......I cook them to perfection all the time, so a high end steakhouse should have this process down.....not the case. It was charred like a piece of charcoal in some spots and blue to almost raw in others. Plus it was cut off the bone. My mother used to cut my meat up, but I was 4 at the time. I told my waiter right from the start that I was not in a rush and did not want to be rushed. Must be a language barrier. It started with my shrimp cocktail.....I was down to my last shrimp and the guy comes over to take it away. He puts his hand on the plate to lift it away and pauses for me to finish.....all the time still holding the plate,...I have a fully intact shrimp that I haven't even dipped yet in my hand. Talk about feeling rushed....awkward. then my salad came....I made it a point that I wanted to enjoy and finnish my salad before my steak came out. I even suggested not putting the order in until I was done my salad. GUESS WHAT? Half way through my salad my steak was brought out...and I've already explained that fiasco. So I put my salad on hold to eat my main coarse. I ate very little. It was terrible. My $12 salad went to $12 baked potato was cold.....and my porterhouse was bagged up to go. I gave it to my house keeping lady for her dog. Seriously. I will never be back and I will never recommend your restaurant to anyone.

I just realized i must have been one of the last diners in this place before it closed. It was so sad to see it so un inspiring. My Manhattan was terrible, which really made me take pause. Hope we eventually see great things of they return.

Came for a birthday with my wife. Wanted to enjoy a nice meal at the Waldorf before it closes for remodeling. It is an elegant space but thought it kind of dark, a like more light would be good. The staff was very nice once we got in. We showed up a little early so had to wait to get in. We had the show menu which included a Waldorf salad, chateaubriand, mashed potatoes and broccoli and bread pudding as the final course. The salad was very good unlike any Waldorf salad I have had-this must be the original and did not diasappoint. The main course was cooked perfectly, very tender and excellently seasoned. The potatoes were perfectly smooth, no lumps. While I am not a big fan of broccoli this was very good. The bread pudding was also very good, nice way to end the meal. There was no rush through the courses, the let us enjoy the evening and the meal. Our waiter was very attentive and we had a nice chat about what he was going to do after the hotel closes. I do hope they will make a change to the show menu. Most couples may not have the same tastes so while it may look like you can choose from a couple different entries you both have to take the same one. This seems silly to me, why can I not have steak and my wife the fish. Anyway it was a very enjoyable dinner.

I was very disappointed dining in at Bull and Bear! We got seated and waited for 30 minutes for the host to get our order! He forgot to come back until I have to ask! When our food arrived, my porterhouse was not as good as I expected! I only ate the outside and the rest doggy bag! !it was It was my wedding anniversary and what a shamed that this happened!

Crab cake, potatoes au gratin, and creamed spinach were high quality. Lobster was not to my wife's liking. A bit tough. Did give us dessert as a gesture. Much appreciated. Did not meet the expected 5 star standard. Dining room felt more like a lower scale restaurant. Much too busy. Would not recommend for the price category.
