Bukhara Indian Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Food and service were excellent although we expected a bit more heat for medium than we received. Tables for two are a bit small so they get quite crowded when the food arrives. We had a nice window seat which makes for awesome people watching in JP. Only two issues, the menus could use a good wipe down between customers... crusted on sauces on the menu can be a real turn off, I don't know about the rest if the seats but every time the guy behind me moved it pushed my seat back forward enough to make me uncomfortable... thankfully he wasn't there long.
I've been coming to Bukhara since 1999. It's changed a lot over that time; both in food quality and quality of servers. Our last experience sadly will be our last time at Bukhara, as I am not one to take verbal abuse while paying for my (incorrectly prepared) meal.
It was my sons birthday. We arrived a little early, were seated right away, but it took another 20 minutes to have the server come over to our table to give us menus. We were not asked if we wanted drinks at that time, we had to wait until she came back to take our order to be offered drinks. The services is normally very good, but maybe because they were a little busier they didn't do so well this time. We ordered two of the same appetizer, one arrived, we had to ask three times for the other one, which eventually arrived. The food was good, but not happy with the service this time round. Will be a while before we go again.
We've been here a bunch of times and it typically is our go to in terms of Indian food, but this time we were a bit disappointed. The server unfortunately dumped one of the very hot plates on the table spilling the entire curry, so then we all had to move tables, the plates and glasses were full with muck from the spill, and 2 of us got our food, and the other person had to wait a significant amount of time for the re-made food to arrive. When the 3rd meal finally came - as you might expect, the other 2 were finished with their meal. The bread was cold, and my husband had to eat quickly, to catch up. What was odd after all this stress was that the manager didn't come check on us (one guy burned his thumb due to the spilled food- not bad, but it was scalding red), nor did he apologize or give us a discount, free app nothing.
I have been to Bukhara several times and always come back. I have tried several other places, but this is my favorite Indian restaurant. Easy to park out back, not crazy crowded, service is always good, food is always good. They seem to have lots of options, but I always get my favorite (Chicken Tikka Masala). If you like Indian food, check this place out!
We usually rant and rave about your restaurant to everyone, but this visit was very disappointing. The seats were too close to each other and we moved every time our neighbors moved. Both main entrees arrived at the exact same time as our appetizer. : (
We will not be running back anytime soon, but we will try again at a later date.
Place was ok. Nice location and servers were friendly and attentive. But the food was pretty bland and we even asked for extra spice in all our meals (nothing was any bit spicy). Still looking for good authentic Indian food. This place has Americanized their dishes to remove most of what makes Indian food very special.
We booked our reservation through open table obviously. But when we arrived we were told that open table didn't give them a tablet so they can't see reservations. Seemed odd to take reservations on open table if you have no way to know one was booked. Thankfully it was not crowded and we sat right down, I can only imagine how this could be a problem when they are busy.
we remembered the restaurant as having food that was a cut above our other neighborhood indian choice, (different neighborhood) but we won't be going back. Sag paneer was underseasoned, malay kufta had an off taste. other dishes were similarly disappointing. maybe n off night for the kitchen, but not worth another trip to find out.
Not a big fan of Indian food, I am in the minority in my family but I agreed to go to dinner here at their urging. The large menu and careful attention to the diners' requests regarding "heat" made it a great experience, one I would certainly repeat. In addition, they accommodated an active two year old in our party without skipping a beat. The wait staff is well organized and friendly and the food terrific. Everyone in our group was happy with their choices, plates were passed and shared and I would certainly return when I am back in Boston. The tikka masala with shrimp was my personal favorite!
