Bukhara Indian Bistro
The cultural and religious capital of this empire lay in Bukhara due to the established silk trade routes from the Far East to the Mediterranean. This Indo-Islamic power had control over most of Asia and the city of Bukhara was the melting pot for all these cultures and their cuisines. As this great power vanished, so did much of its culinary inventions, but some aspects of this style survived in Northern India which have since come to be known as 'Mughlai Khanna' (food of the Mughals).
Today we carry this ancient tradition of culinary excellence at Bukhara Indian Bistro under the supervision of the first chef to bring North Indian food to Minneapolis and of one of the best North Indian culinary arts master in the Midwest Chef Joginder Cheema.
Best Indian food I have found in the twin cities. Very good selection on their menu, good price, great service.
This is the best! It is family owned and operated and the food is consistently fresh and delicious!
Delicious dishes and outstanding breads. We will be back.
We came to Bukhara on a friend's recommendation. Food was excellent. Service was top knotch. We'll be back.
Great service and really excellent Indian food at a fair price.
There is something very wrong when a restaurant that has a sign on its front window that they are open till 10:00pm and then rushes patrons to finish their dinners by 9:00pm saying that they close at 9:00 on Sundays. That happened the previous time we dined there. However, our last dining experience was even worse. We had 7:15 reservations and arrived on time. We ordered almost immediately looking forward to a bowl of soup to fight the cold. Despite numerous requests we received nothing for 45 minutes. Totally unacceptable!!!! We eat here regularly and loved their food. These last 2 experiences has soured us on what was once our favorite neighborhood restaurant.
Never received OpenTable points after 4 attempts. Even called OpenTable to report this.
Great service and food as delicious as it gets.
I usually have an easier time grading the restaurants we go to. The main issue here was that the place was clearly short staffed for a busy Friday night and that reflected on the experience. The waiters were good and the food was good, but when you start eating at 8:15 after getting at 7:30, it skews the results.
We have been to this place many times in the past and it was very good, I will give them another chance this experience was the exception.
Excellent! The food was great as always.
Great food and plenty of it. Service was impeccable, very friendly without being over the top. It was a little noisy due to a family party going on too, but it didn’t really bother us. We will be back.
The food is excellent. We have great service every time we dine there . We always get the Samosa appetizer and then nan bread and then we share an entrée plenty of food!
Good food great service!
Great food and excellent service.
The food was wonderful and the service was second to none. Attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. I would highly recommend for authentic Indian food in a comfortable setting.
This was not our first time but sadly may be our last. The service was terrible!
Always consistent - always tasty! I drive 45 minutes to have a meal here..
Love this restaurant. We have been there many times and will continue to go back. Saturday night was the busiest I have ever seen it which shows people are catching on to this great restaurant. It is NOT in the best location but once you've been there you will continue to return. The BEST!
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE DINED HERE IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS AND HAVE NOT GOTTEN MY OPEN TABLE REWARDS. COMPLAINING TO OPEN TABLE AND THE RESTAURANT STILL DOESNT GET ME MY POINTS. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?????
Excellent authentic Indian food, quiet atmosphere. Wine by the glass - not the best choices of reds, but cheap. Bottle selection fair and reasonably priced.
Like a trip to India for dinner! Lovely dishes well prepared and authentic. The appetizers and various flavors of naan make the main course almost an afterthought. We plan to try the lunch buffet...all freshly prepared each morning!
One of the best Indian restaurants in Minneapolis area and great service.
Once again we had a wonderful dinner. Wait staff are both knowledgeable and friendly. Have not had a bad meal here ever and have been coming for years.
Our server made great recommendations based on our questions. He was very pleasant and attentive without hovering. Excellent food and a comfortable atmosphere.
Excellent service and enjoyable food. Food came out in a timely manner and was the correct amount for a party of 4 was recommended

Great Indian food. Great service. Highly recommend
Excellent food and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Great friendly service, quiet. Food is great.
Wonderful service. The food here is consistently good. Seasonings are not especially spicy, so be sure to check with your server if you like it hot! The meat is top quality and expertly prepared. Super tender every time!
Service was impeccable. The food was incredible. Excellent vegetarian options.
Celebrated a birthday at Buhkara, was really impressed with the friendly wait staff and the food. Each dish had a unique flavor, and the special Naans were fantastic.
Never disappoints, amazing service, amazing food!
One of our favorite restaurants - service is always good - attentive, friendly & helpful w/ the menu- and they brought us a special birthday dessert.
The food at this restaurant is consistently excellent. The ambience is cozy and just right for conversation. The place is not ultra-fancy, but it is most relaxing.
Great fresh tasting Indian food. Service is always excellent.
We read about it in the Mpls Tribune about the owner being Jewish and being from India.
While I'm not certain of that, the lunch buffet was really good. Perfectly spiced, good selection of food. We made reservations and thte tale was set and ready for us. Service was terrific. We all had the buffett and I ordered the Chicken Soup. It was really good, very different from the 'usual' chix soup. Great spices, chicken and veggies.
Is a bit of a drive, but do-able. Would certainly return and recommend.
Food and service were great - lots of vegetarian options. One of the top 2 or 3 Indian restaurants in the twin cities but a little out of the way - would go back.
