Buffalo West Ratings and Reviews
The service started out great, but went downhill fairly quick. The food was just okay. The loaded baked potato came without butter and was still rather firm. We were done with the meal by the time the waiter came back and remembered the butter. The entire meal was incredibly rushed like they couldn’t get us out the door fast enough. I won’t celebrate my next 50th birthday here.
One saving grace...the bread pudding!
We chose Buffalo west because they are Fido friendly. We sat out in the outside patio area but they have an inside patio area where dogs are allowed. My husband had the chicken fried ribeye steak and he loved. I had the spinach steak salad and it was delicious. We shared a Pinot Noir from Oregon that was very good. Kelly our waiter was very attentive once he realized we were there. Thanks Buffalo West for giving us a dog friendly option for fine dining!
Waitress was very attentive. Table was sticky - didn't seem clean. 4 of the 5 of us got the soup and salad bar - which was quite good. This came with a potato as well (baked or sweet). We left too full for dessert. Though we sat inside, there was a fly that flew around our table area and it was a bit of a nuisance.
Buffalo West is better than ever! It has been a while since we've eaten there just due to life, but we were so excited to see Ben back! And I have to say that the sirloin was the best I ever had there. I was glad they still have some old favorites, too. Great salad bar! Always love the French Onion Soup. And next time, I will get the Lobster Bisque. =D
They had an event on the patio, so we look forward to being able to sit out there and hopefully listen to live music next time.
And Scott was a fantastic server, who took great care of us with good humor and attention.
Thanks for a great night!
Went for brunch. They make the best, fluffiest waffles I've ever had! Our server Will was awesome. Only negative is if you want a side of eggs it's $5, which I think is overpriced for 2 eggs. I think they should be including the eggs in the waffles and french toast brunch options, like some other restaurants do.
What a great place to grab some Texas favorites. I've been to Ruth's Chris, and this was still the best 22oz bone in ribeye I've ever eaten-buttery and tender with great seasoning and cooked to textbook medium rare. Ambience was great with a quiet room. Kelly, our waiter, was very attentive and nice. Great steak and great place. Thanks!
My wife ordered the Shrimp Fresco, they used minced garlic from a jar instead of fresh garlic and the food was swimming in olive oil. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, it was the most bland chicken I have ever had and the batter was soggy, no seasoning and the mashed potatoes and the gravy were very salty. The salad bar was good. Our server was great!
Excellent service, steak was good and cooked perfectly, but beef quality was marginal...a level below Choice...made it tougher than it should be for a $40 steak. Restaurant interior is same as it was when it was a Steak n Ale over 30 years ago....really needs to be updated. The staff was most gracious and professional and our waitress was very attentive too. Wine selection was limited...should be expanded.
My husband and I went there for brunch. He ordered an omelette, and I had the waffle with fresh strawberries. Each of our orders came with a breakfast meat choice, potatoes and toast. But I thought it was unnecessary to add toast to a waffle order; it would've made more sense to include the pecans. (They make you choose either strawberries or pecans with the waffle.) My potatoes were way over-cooked and subsequently dried out, and the skins on them were very rubbery. Also, I think the extra $3 they charged for the one scrambled egg was a bit much. Plus, the egg wasn't even warm anymore when I started eating it a minute after I got my plate. I was really surprised at all the disappointments with the meal, considering we've been there three times before for brunch, and on each of those occasions, everything was cooked appropriately, and served at the right temperatures.
But I thought it was really cute how the waffle was in the shape of the state of Texas, with a heart shape in the center and the letters "B.W", and it did taste good, as did the bacon and the strawberries. My husband also liked his omelette. So perhaps we'll give them one more try sometime in the future.
Stuck us in the heat with a waiter on his first night on a Father's Day Saturday night. Out of prime rib, at 7 on a Saturday night, steak ordered mid rare was a cold rare, potato came out undercooked and with barely any toppings. Asking for additional toppings produced ridiculously minimal additional amounts. Good attitude with minimal training, being put in an outdoor area on a 90 degree night with a reservation, and a waiter who could only do 1 thing at a time, marginally. Pass
This is the 3rd or 4th time there, and we were somewhat disappointed. We were unaware that we could only order from the Sunday Brunch menu for Mothers Day lunch. Soup and salad bar was good as usual. Husband's steak and eggs - reported to waiter but steak medium rare was overcooked and one of the easy over eggs was hard. No accommodation. Could not remove ham as requested from the Monte Cristo and include turkey only. Breakfast potatoes were without flavor or veggies. Although we were seated inside, all doors were open to the patio so swatting flies was a constant issue.
We had brought brother's family for the first time and were unimpressed, so we ended up picking up the tab for them due to our embarrassment.
Staff friendly and accommodating. Brunch menu was different than that posted on Open Table, the 2 items we were looking for had been removed. Then we were told other items were unavailable because "the kitchen couldn't handle it". Weak. Food was average at best. Not planning to go back.
We met friends from out of town for dinner. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The service was outstanding and most of us were very pleased with our meals. I ordered the pot roast and there was a little more fat than I like. Other than that, it was an excellent experience.
