This was my first time to Buffalo West. I had made a reservation since it was a Friday night. My dad was in town and I wanted to try somewhere we hadn’t tried. We showed up about 6:30. There were plenty of tables available. There’s a salad bar that Was a good size but has way more potential for more things to put on your salad. Especially for 7 dollars as an add on to your meal. That is my only complaint! I ordered prime rib medium rare, sautéed mushrooms and asparagus. Everything was delicious & im very picky with my prime rib. My dad ordered cowboy ribeye and baked potato. My other friend got the fish tacos. Everything came out fresh and hot! Our waitress was Kendra, she was very Nice and attentive. I did notice The restaurant seemed really empty for a Friday though. I sure hope it was just an “off” Friday for them. Because I thoroughly enjoyed this place and will be back!
It’s quiet and the salad bar is very good. Also, the broccoli is the best in town. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and reasonably priced too.
We always enjoy the food and the atmosphere. They offer a 22oz Cowboy steak that is amazing. And don't forget one of the best salad bars around!!! Service is always great.
This was our first time there. The salad bar and the food were both very good. They have a knowledgeable wait staff. The kitchen turned out very good meals. We had two kids with us and their meals come with desert - the chocolate waffle sunday - wow, it was fresh and so good.
While it’s a little dated inside I observed the staff being diligent on keeping things clean.
We will definitely go back.
The service was good and the food was good. I would have hoped for a bit more atmosphere at the price point.
Great place we have Ben several times. We never have to wait for a table.
Great food great service, really enjoyable time.
There are a couple very good reasons we've dined out here TWELVE TIMES since our first visit this past January. First and foremost, you get REALLY GOOD FOOD for a reasonable price point. Secondly, the staff and management is just amazing. There's professional-and-caring-Kip, always-on-his-game-Scott, super-cool-super-fast-Geoff, much-missed-Ethan (BRING HIM BACK! BRING HIM BACK!) and his mother who is a truly awesome one-of-a-kind restaurant manager, as well as anyone else who has served us at Buffalo West, they all go above and beyond what you'd expect, but never in an intrusive or annoying manner. I've never experienced any other restaurant before where you feel like you're being served delicious food by your best friends. Keep up the great work, guys - we'll see you in a couple weeks!
Great steaks and salad bar!
Excellent restaurant with great service and food. We will definitely be back. Thanks.
Delicious cowboy steaks. My fiancée ate all of hers and she never does that. I recommend the Sizzler.
As a travel agent, i am always looking for new places to recommend.. Buffalo West was a fluke, and a lucky one at that... we were not super hungry, but really looking for a good salad bar... a quick google search led us to Buffalo West.. We had burgers (the MOST amazing we'd had in a long time) and the salad bar as well (read the menu carefully, some entrees and sandwiches include the salad bar, but if not, for a very reasonable $7, you can add it)...
the Food was so fresh, not just the salad bar... everything. the meat was of a quality that cannot be denied... cooked PERFECTLY to order (rare to medium rare)... we declined fries and had a full choice of options as a substitute, everything, including the ambiance was spot on. WE will be returning, but this is definitely as new place on our "regular" list.. both for "just a burger and salad" and i've already picked it as my birthday wish place in November!!! Cannot wait to arrive hungry for a BIG steak!!!...
Great waiter great food great atmosphere it was somewhat loud there was a table near us that had a huge party but other than that it was great
Kendra was great. Piano guy was great and food was great.
Enjoyed our first trip to Buffalo West. It was comfortable and casual.
I ordered the 6 oz. Filet Mignon. It came with a baked potato and a trip to the salad bar and was priced at $35. The salad and potato each were very good. The filet, however, was about 70% fat. The nonfat portion was very good but I had more non-edible fat left on my plate that I was able to eat. I don't mind a little fat on my steak but this was ridiculous.
I was extremely disappointed and now will have to find another "go to" steak house.
Good food. Very busy evening with multiple large parties commanding the patio and the large meeting room areas. Still we were treated as family with good service and pleasant banter. Noise level was a bit elevated due to the parties but still acceptable. Steaks were prepared with the usual skill and tastiness. Rare prime rib was delicious. Our server, Jimmie, is always a pleasure to exchange greetings and gossip. Wine was also quite good with dinner. Fine evening.
Always great at the west
Best service in town
First time and was thoroughly impressed. Doesn’t look as nice from the side of the road, but it’s a true gem.
Great food and salad bar! The pianist on the evening that we went was OUTSTANDING! This is one of my most frequented restaurants because the food and prices are the best around; I’ve never been disappointed!
A few of our groups orders were wrong, even after the waitress corrected the orders, the corrected order was still wrong. Steaks that were ordered Medium Well, came out Rare, even after being sent back to the grill for additional cooking time which they then came out Medium Rare. The salad bar which is usually the best part about Buffalo West, had a few items that were not so fresh and not pleasant to eat once put on your plate with your salad. We usually really like this place, however over half of our 8 party group was very disappointed with their meal. It will be a while before we try going back again.
Best kept secret in Fort Worth. The live piano player was a bonus and a hit with my family. Cozy, comfortable, delicious food, outstanding-friendly service. They also support the community and open their doors to various groups/events. A true FW gem!
Great food and service. Loved the atmosphere as well. Only thing I would change is the piano was a bit too loud.
The food was excellent and our waiter was outstanding. First time for our daughter and she is ready to go back!
We went for Brunch on Father’s Day. Food was delicious and service was great. We will be going back.
Great salad bar. Pricey lobster add on. Steaks were perfect. Service staff we absolutely love.
Piano on Friday night and as lovely. Vegetable soup needed a bit more savory salt but chock full of veggies. Nice. Will return again soon.
My son graduated from college;my daughter graduated from high school. We were celebrating both.
Excellent food, service and value. Our Server, Melanie, was the perfect mixture of professionalism, humor, knowledge and information. The only way our visit could have been less exceptional would be to have not had Melanie ad our Server. Not that all of the other servers are not as good, but Melanie sure sets the bar high. Can’t wait for my next visit to DFW. Thanks!!!
This was our first visit. We loved the patio and the restaurant was well maintained. We were surprised to be told that the regular menu was unavailable for Mother's Day. This was not advertised anywhere we could find. The offered buffet was less than desirable but we made due and didn't complain. I would expect for a buffet with this food quality to pay somewhere between 10 and 25 dollars per person. 40 dollars was a bit pricey considering we could have gotten a cook to order steak of decent quality for that price.
Meal we attended was the Mother's Day brunch. The steak was about what golden corral offers on buffet. the best item was the biscuits and patty sausage and gravy. The salad was good ole stake and ale quality, the french onion soup was just okay. The serving lines were really awkward, to cramped for being dressed up to come here. Finally, I don't drink and the pecan pie was laced with bourbon or some such. You need to tell us its got liquor in it and offer one that doesn't. So overall, to charge $40 plus ice tea, I had to pay almost $90 for just okay. Not worth it, for a couple that can't do this every day. We might come back on a regular meal day, but we would have to avoid any extras. Service people were very nice and helpful.
The food and service was great. This will become one of our regular places to eat out.
Rolls were very hard. potatoes skins very hard.
My dad loved his pot roast. Husband said 8oz steak was just ok. Onion rings were great. Veggie soup was delicious. Salad bar was good. They didn’t have calamari or peach cobbler which we found out after we had ordered it .
I can only review their Brunch menu because that is all that is available on Sundays. It is a limited selection of items, one of which our group did not find very palatable-the Monte Cristo. The service was fine and the salad bar had some very nice selections. We may come back when we can sample items from their regular menu.
What restaurant doesn’t serve a simple glass of wine? Just wanted a glass of Moscato, no don’t have any, beat we can do is sell you a whole bottle. Don’t want a whole bottle, just a glass. Not happy. Piano was great but it was WAY to loud over the speakers, to the point of being flat out annoying.
Excellent food (we love the salad bar). Easter buffet was excellent, too many choices! Enjoy the pianist. Service is always great. We especially enjoy when Scott takes care of us - he is awesome !
Easter brunch was great but we had a few in our group that wanted to order of the menu. Our local newspaper indicated the menu would be available. I think it said so in an ad. Or perhaps an article about places to eat Easter Sunday.
We meet our friends for lunch once a month and have decided to make Buffalo West our permanent meeting spot. We always have a lot to talk about since we get together so infrequently. Rachael our waitress was great to give us time to visit and time to place our order and even more time to visit after the meal and dessert. She was so accommodating and checked to see if we could have the Tuesday special of steak and baked potato even though something different was the special that day. The steak were perfect and the salad bar is such an enjoyment. We were there the day after my birthday (April Fools day) and we enjoyed the birthday dessert: yummy chocolate waffle with ice cream and fudge sauce.
As a former Steak and Ale employee from the the late 60s and early 70s, I so appreciate the nostalgic atmosphere.
Definitely not the best prime rib or steaks in Fort Worth!
Over priced and average quality food.
You would be better off just going to an OutBack since the quality is about the same but you would only have to pay half what Buffalo West charges for their average tasting food.
