Enjoyed our first trip to Buffalo West. It was comfortable and casual.
I ordered the 6 oz. Filet Mignon. It came with a baked potato and a trip to the salad bar and was priced at $35. The salad and potato each were very good. The filet, however, was about 70% fat. The nonfat portion was very good but I had more non-edible fat left on my plate that I was able to eat. I don't mind a little fat on my steak but this was ridiculous.
I was extremely disappointed and now will have to find another "go to" steak house.
Good food. Very busy evening with multiple large parties commanding the patio and the large meeting room areas. Still we were treated as family with good service and pleasant banter. Noise level was a bit elevated due to the parties but still acceptable. Steaks were prepared with the usual skill and tastiness. Rare prime rib was delicious. Our server, Jimmie, is always a pleasure to exchange greetings and gossip. Wine was also quite good with dinner. Fine evening.
Always great at the west
Best service in town
First time and was thoroughly impressed. Doesn’t look as nice from the side of the road, but it’s a true gem.
Great food and salad bar! The pianist on the evening that we went was OUTSTANDING! This is one of my most frequented restaurants because the food and prices are the best around; I’ve never been disappointed!
A few of our groups orders were wrong, even after the waitress corrected the orders, the corrected order was still wrong. Steaks that were ordered Medium Well, came out Rare, even after being sent back to the grill for additional cooking time which they then came out Medium Rare. The salad bar which is usually the best part about Buffalo West, had a few items that were not so fresh and not pleasant to eat once put on your plate with your salad. We usually really like this place, however over half of our 8 party group was very disappointed with their meal. It will be a while before we try going back again.
Best kept secret in Fort Worth. The live piano player was a bonus and a hit with my family. Cozy, comfortable, delicious food, outstanding-friendly service. They also support the community and open their doors to various groups/events. A true FW gem!
Great food and service. Loved the atmosphere as well. Only thing I would change is the piano was a bit too loud.
The food was excellent and our waiter was outstanding. First time for our daughter and she is ready to go back!
We went for Brunch on Father’s Day. Food was delicious and service was great. We will be going back.
Great salad bar. Pricey lobster add on. Steaks were perfect. Service staff we absolutely love.
Piano on Friday night and as lovely. Vegetable soup needed a bit more savory salt but chock full of veggies. Nice. Will return again soon.
My son graduated from college;my daughter graduated from high school. We were celebrating both.
Excellent food, service and value. Our Server, Melanie, was the perfect mixture of professionalism, humor, knowledge and information. The only way our visit could have been less exceptional would be to have not had Melanie ad our Server. Not that all of the other servers are not as good, but Melanie sure sets the bar high. Can’t wait for my next visit to DFW. Thanks!!!
This was our first visit. We loved the patio and the restaurant was well maintained. We were surprised to be told that the regular menu was unavailable for Mother's Day. This was not advertised anywhere we could find. The offered buffet was less than desirable but we made due and didn't complain. I would expect for a buffet with this food quality to pay somewhere between 10 and 25 dollars per person. 40 dollars was a bit pricey considering we could have gotten a cook to order steak of decent quality for that price.
Meal we attended was the Mother's Day brunch. The steak was about what golden corral offers on buffet. the best item was the biscuits and patty sausage and gravy. The salad was good ole stake and ale quality, the french onion soup was just okay. The serving lines were really awkward, to cramped for being dressed up to come here. Finally, I don't drink and the pecan pie was laced with bourbon or some such. You need to tell us its got liquor in it and offer one that doesn't. So overall, to charge $40 plus ice tea, I had to pay almost $90 for just okay. Not worth it, for a couple that can't do this every day. We might come back on a regular meal day, but we would have to avoid any extras. Service people were very nice and helpful.
The food and service was great. This will become one of our regular places to eat out.
Rolls were very hard. potatoes skins very hard.
My dad loved his pot roast. Husband said 8oz steak was just ok. Onion rings were great. Veggie soup was delicious. Salad bar was good. They didn’t have calamari or peach cobbler which we found out after we had ordered it .
I can only review their Brunch menu because that is all that is available on Sundays. It is a limited selection of items, one of which our group did not find very palatable-the Monte Cristo. The service was fine and the salad bar had some very nice selections. We may come back when we can sample items from their regular menu.
What restaurant doesn’t serve a simple glass of wine? Just wanted a glass of Moscato, no don’t have any, beat we can do is sell you a whole bottle. Don’t want a whole bottle, just a glass. Not happy. Piano was great but it was WAY to loud over the speakers, to the point of being flat out annoying.
Excellent food (we love the salad bar). Easter buffet was excellent, too many choices! Enjoy the pianist. Service is always great. We especially enjoy when Scott takes care of us - he is awesome !
Easter brunch was great but we had a few in our group that wanted to order of the menu. Our local newspaper indicated the menu would be available. I think it said so in an ad. Or perhaps an article about places to eat Easter Sunday.
We meet our friends for lunch once a month and have decided to make Buffalo West our permanent meeting spot. We always have a lot to talk about since we get together so infrequently. Rachael our waitress was great to give us time to visit and time to place our order and even more time to visit after the meal and dessert. She was so accommodating and checked to see if we could have the Tuesday special of steak and baked potato even though something different was the special that day. The steak were perfect and the salad bar is such an enjoyment. We were there the day after my birthday (April Fools day) and we enjoyed the birthday dessert: yummy chocolate waffle with ice cream and fudge sauce.
As a former Steak and Ale employee from the the late 60s and early 70s, I so appreciate the nostalgic atmosphere.
Definitely not the best prime rib or steaks in Fort Worth!
Over priced and average quality food.
You would be better off just going to an OutBack since the quality is about the same but you would only have to pay half what Buffalo West charges for their average tasting food.
This is a great place with awesome food and attentive service !
We were greeted and taken care of immediately, very courteous and very well mannered. Service , food was awesome and everybody was all smiles, piano players were also very good and polite. Food again was amazing and prepared perfectly!
Our group was celebrating a bridal shower and we were very pleased with everything Buffalo West did for us. Our waiter was excellent and gave us extra special treatment. Food was great as well. Highly recommend this place!
I took my wife there in a whim, and we could not have been more pleased. We’ll be going back.
My wife and I went here for date night. We got their salad bar which is huge and then shared a steak which was huge and amazing. I will be back. Love the Ft Worth feel of the place.
Consistently good food. Service was a bit off but friendly. Food was over-cooked somewhat but didn’t destroy the flavor. Salad bar was well stocked. French onion soup was dark and rich. Server was absent most of the time but when available was attentive.
great venue for dinner meeting. quiet enough to talk, large spacious table, outstanding service.
Our first time there and it was great. The food and service were awesome. It reminds me much of Steak and Ale, from years ago.
Great find! Loved the food and ambiance! Great for older crowd! Only suggestion: Make sure salad bar is fully stocked by opening...Can’t wait to return!
Buffalo West truly has the best steaks in town. However, the prime rib is my favorite with a fantastic salad bar.
Just like the old favorite of ours, Steak N Ale! Awesome salad bar, steak & lobster were perfect!
The ambiance is country shabby chic. There was a pianist playing in the background it was beautiful. I love the separated Dining rooms. Each room had 5-10 tables. So lovely.
The service was poor. Our waiter proceeded to tell us they were so busy they had run out of wine glasses. He barely described the menu or specials. He waited oddly for us to order as if it was urgent. Every time he did approach the table we were deep in conversation. He interrupted rudely.
The food was good. Portions small.
Salad bar is excellent with many choices. Steak was cooked to our request. However my prime rib was cold When it arrived to the table, Asparagus delicious. We will return hoping the service was just because of the holiday and super busy evening. This was y our first time.
the food was excellent. Steaks were just as ordered. It's best to limit alcohol here as the bar prices are $$$ even for house wine.
Great hidden place. The Pianist on Saturday nights at the bar eating area is outstanding. Our waiter was super attentive and treated us like we were at her place. I can’t wait to go again and bring more family with me.
