Fantastic restaurar. Great food, drinks and ambiance.
The best combination of food and ambience on the West side of Los Angeles. Classy and casual...a rare combination. It’s been there for several decades; always dependable.
A touch of Back East with dark wood and classic photos and paintings adorning the walls. Personal attention by Patrick Healy, the Chef, who came out and greeted us at the Table. Fabulous presentation of food and the best playlist of songs we have heard in a long time.
Delicious pot pie and beef bourguignon!
Table service was first rate, but we were the only customers, and kitchen service was slow (two hours). Being alone is eerie, given the decor. Also kind of pricey, about $100/person even though we brought our own wine.
Cool, cozy, clubby hideaway with excellent food and top service! Love going there! Porterhouse served table side was amazing.
Dear Jose, Thank you so much for your review, we really appreciate it. It's reviews like yours that inspire us to keep pushing the boundaries here at The Buffalo Club. Do not go here for dinner! Horrible. Started with drinks taking 20 minutes, and got worse from there. Bottle of Chardonnay was warm, one dinner was cold. Sent it by back after looking for our waiter/manager for 10 minutes. The dinner came back just warmed up...terrible. Dessert, ugh. Management didn’t care. Much more interested in the frat boy crowd coming in for drinks. So sad. This used to be such a cool place.
Hopefully we won’t all get sick. Dinner was that bad!
Great Westside Hide Away where you can hear yourself along with fine dining at it’s best.
Dear Madeline, Thanks for the sensational review. Loyal customers like yourself are the reason we’ve been in business for almost 25 years. We hope to see you back very soon. Best, The Buffalo Club Team
Elegant and clubby in a wonderfully old fashioned way. Good food as well. Really great surprise and can’t wait to go back.
Oasis, Thank you kindly for your honest review about your latest experience with us! We enjoyed having you just as much as you loved being here. Please come back and see us again soon. Best, The Buffalo Club Team
Loved the room, the food, the music. What a pleasurable experience. Definitely return.

We loved the quiet elegant surroundings. The music was wonderful but unnecessarily loud (despite not being nearly as loud as many places). So conversation was still easy..
We did small plates (5) and 1 drink each - surprisingly pricey; though each plate was both small and delicious!
Old Hollywood, or classic French steak house in Paris, the ambiance is wonderful inside the well-appointed dining room... down to the custom china on the table. The menu offerings covered all sorts of desires and restrictions, plated beautifully and tasted amazing. Wine by the glass options are well thought-out and top tier options for even the pickiest of wine drinkers if you are not feeling a full bottle, the wine list is impressive. I would definitely return to try more of the menu and the tableside options. How I didn't get her sooner is my only regret, it used to go off with live music. Speaking of music The patio is a lot of fun as the evening goes on with DJ's. One thing I will say about the Buffalo club (and most other spots in town fail at so often) was the restaurant staff, they are 1000% on point. The team are pros, they are attentive but not invasive and know the menu inside and out. Wine glasses to silverware have all be carefully considered to increase your experience. A+
This is a wonderful Supper Club
The food is wonderful along with the service and wine knowledge led by William who is such a friendly and engaging host.
Very poorly run establishment. Brought a large group, only people in restaurant, service was slow, wouldn’t allow our additional guests in to eat as it got close to the party time although we weren’t a party of the party area. Very rude and will never go back.
A fantastic dining experience at the Buffalo Club. Atmospheric dining room with 1940's speakeasy vibe; Great classic rock at exactly the right volume; very delicious food (for the meat lovers, fish lovers and vegetarians alike). Bartender as good as the wonderful chef. We can't wait to go back.
We had a delicious meal! A party of 8 sometimes takes extra time to serve, but the staff did a terrific job keeping everything moving nicely while not rushing in any way. The food is excellent, different and great variety. We loved it. Perfect evening.
Always great. Such a perfect quite getaway.
Restaurant was empty! Food and service were very good!
Really enjoyed dinner this weekend at the Bufallo Club. Also, they have a great club next door, that is nice to roll into after dinner. Look forward to returning soon.
Rather odd experience. Had a 7:45 reservation on a Friday night. Walked in to find a completely empty restaurant. Over the course of the next two hours, I think two more tables were seated. Strange. The good news is that the food was very good: tuna tartare, Dover sole, a different and delicious vanilla pudding. The dining room is lovely: old school wood and leather. The sole was excellent, but ridiculously expensive. Served for two, it costs $108; yikes!
Love the Chicago vibe, pleasant staff and great food. Cozy on a cold LA winter night.
Valentines Day
Good food. Excellent service. Hidden gem. Don’t get confused with the patio bar. This is a sit down restaurant and it doesn’t have any cover charge.
Whether it's a special occasion or dinner in our neighborhood, the Buffalo Club always delivers. The food is excellently prepared and always served graciously. For those who keep late hours on the weekends, the outdoor patio features a rockin' DJ and a "vibrant bar scene."
I've been coming to the buffalo club for almost 20 yrs and it is by far best service and quality every time.
First time there, bartender makes a spectacular brandy old fashion, wait staff amazingly friendly, great atmosphere, food terrific!
Fish was over cooked. Booths were very tight and not comfortable and after spending almost $200 we were charged $10 for parking our car which was right outside were I parked it by the curb.
A place like that should not charge to park
We had not been to Buffalo Club in a number of years and was delighted to see that it is just as beautiful as it was when it first opened and the food is just as good. But sadly the place was desolate on a Saturday night at 7:30 which made it a little depressing. My bet is the vibe is much better when the place is buzzing.
The service was excellent, food plentiful and delicious.
A very unassuming outside however the interior is lush reminding me of a stately study or private club. 70s/80s music in the background was pleasant and not overbearing. The staff was very pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was superb. All in all it made for a pleasant evening.
Great food, wonderful and attentive service and the courtyard is very sweet.
We have been coming here for years and it still is wonderful. The staff is excellent and when we bring someone who has never been they are in awe the minute they walk in. Food portions are large so consider sharing some items.
This was, almost certainly, an odd situation. The temperature was 93º when we arrived a few minutes before our reservation, and we were told that they were only seating people outside. "It's 93," I pointed out. "Yes," I was told, "but everyone has been asking for tables outside." We did not want to drip sweat into our drinks, so we left.
We were ten feet out the door when the maitre d' came out and said he'd open the main dining room. Remarkably, we were the only people there - in weakly air-conditioned comfort -for the next two hours; from 6:30 to 8:30. Granted, that's early for a well-regarded restaurant in Santa Monica, but it's hard to believe there are so many masochists who'd prefer to dine outdoors in that heat.
My wife had just completed her last day at work that afternoon, and we were celebrating. So what began as disastrous wound up being ideal (however accidentally). But, assuming that servers were working the Hades contingent outside, we never wanted for attention. The food was remarkably good, the maitre d' made certain we were happy with the pace at which each course was brought out, and what could have been a great disappointment became a very welcome surprise.
I'd only been to the restaurant for lunch in the past, and it never lacked for people in the dining room (and people dine outdoors in Santa Monica year 'round). But, though it was less noisy than typical restaurants in town, it could still require speaking up to be heard across a table. So we'll have to come back on a more typical evening - when there are more than two humans having dinner - to see whether it's a place to have a quiet conversation. Of course, if noise does not ruin your meals they way it does ours, that may not matter. And the food can probably overcome multiple ills.
This place was amazing. Beautiful outdoor dining with fantastic service, delicious food, and great drinks. The ambiance was unparalleled. Altogether worth the cost.
We had not been to the Buffalo Club, but the food by Chef Patrick Healy was excellent as always. The building could use a little sprucing up but the quality of the food and the service were excellent.
Really excellent food and service. My female friend and I had the sole for two and it was as good as I've even enjoyed.
Enjoyed by all! Great meal and service - Josh
Small plates were mixed. Stuffed squash blossoms were the best. The Korean beef and terrines were so-so. The waiter expressed surprise that we were only having small plates, but it was enough for us. The buffalo bar desert was excellent as was the tea service. In fact, all food was served with a flair by a well-trained staff. The Iroquois Room was quite interesting, since it was stately and a classic style. The back patio was a far younger scene with a more modern vibe.
We hadn't been to the Buffalo Club in quite a while. As soon as we entered the dining room and were warmly greeted by the maitre'd we wondered why we had been away for so long. The room is elegant and warm. Our server, William, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We felt like we were at home and will definitely add the Buffalo Club to our list of favorite neighborhood gems for all occasions.
Great service and ambiance
